Fishing excursion

We have booked a fishing excursion as a birthday gift for our 14 year old. He will be fishing in Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon. It’s a 4 hour trip for 2 at a cost over $400, do we need to tip the boat captain??

I believe it's generally expected. We always have.

Probably one of those things where it's not required but always appreciated. The first time we fished we totally forgot to tip and weren't made to feel bad. Other times we have tipped well and am not sure there was any difference in the attitude at all. It's a great trip and, in our book, totally worth any money spent!

As an aside, the Birnbaum Disney guidebook usually has a coupon for 20% off a Disney fishing excursion. We've used them each time.

The only time we went fishing my wife came along and had a blast! Our captain was so great in making her feel comfortable that he earned the tip!

We have always tipped.

The fishing guide drives you around, suggests lures and ties them on, baits the hook, nets the fish, etc. He definitely services the guest. We tip 20%.

Same - buy Birnbaum for ten bucks tops, get the 20% off, and give that money saved to the fishing guide - comes out the same, and they so deserve it - such a blast! Enjoy!
