First Time Choosing Premium Camper site - help!

We just bought our first motorhome and will be making our first major excursion a WDW trip to end the school year! We've been to Disney a bazillion times, and stayed in 13 different resorts, but this is all new to us. If there is a thread devoted to campsite reviews, I'd love a link! If not, I'm listening..... favorite sites? Sites to avoid? Etc? We will be bringing our own golf cart (assuming we can drive with a trailer, learning the RV is hard enough! lol)

There is no thread about specific campsite or loops, although there usually is a discussion about loops. You can't request a specific site and can only request a specific loop, which you may or may not get. All depends on what is available for your dates.

Ditto what PaHunter said.

Getting a specific site is a rare occurrence. There are hundreds of them (Premium sites). Someone could be on that site already on the day you check in. Cast Members have no idea WHY you wanted that particular site.

Your question comes up from time to time here so we've been down this road before.

Tell us some details: how long is your MH? Re: the golf cart, would you tow it on a trailer behind the MH or load it in the bed of a pick-up and drive the pick-up also to the Fort? What type of site have you reserved (or are planning to)?

Do you like to be "near the action"? Want a peace and quiet type of site/loop? Want to be near a Comfort Station? or an internal bus stop? Which park(s) do you go most days to? (boats to MK leave from one end of the Fort and busses to the other parks from the other end). In the past did you drive to the parks or use WDW busses?

So give us some more info.

Bama Ed

PS - Congrats on the new MH. Do you have a picture of it for us?

Ditto on what BamaEd said (which also dittos what PaHunter said as well)

As we like to say on here, there are no "bad" sites at FW. There ARE sites that are closer to the things you are most interested in. Examples are, closer to the pool, or the Meadows general store. Perhaps you like to be closer to the outdoor movie, or maybe to the Marina and the restaurants. Perhaps you are bringing pets and want to be closer to the dog park.

Than again, you might want to be as far from these things as you can get in hopes of having more peace and quiet.

Just give us some details.

There is a thread with some FW information on here

I would suggest the "post a picture of your campsite thread", however most of the pics were done with Photobucket and nobody paid the extra money so the pics...
ummm...

sorry, nevermind. :rolleyes1

Go ahead with those details. :tiptoe:

We visit The Fort numerous times each year, sometimes on a Premium site and sometimes on a full-hook-up (which in my opinion are great sites and some of the roomiest).
That being said, last week was the first time we requested a change after getting to our assisgned site (it was too short and our back end would have stuuck out over a canal). The cast member on the telephone was wonderful, patiently checking for availability while we checked out her suggestions. Other than that one time we have been happy with the actual campsite! Cast members will go out of their way to see that you are happy as long as you are polite and understanding of the limitations. Don't stress over the actual campsite - as stated, there is no such thing as a bad site.
You can plan on leaving your cart trailer in the front parking lot, or on your actual site if there's room.
FWIW, there used to be an APP with actual videos of every site (great for giving a general idea of location and types), but unfortunately the developer has not updated it to be compatible with new operating systems. You may want to check occasionally to see if it bacomes available again.
Happy Planning!
