We have a large family ( 5 young children) so we are staying in the two-bedroom in July. We are excited, and I was surprised we were able to get BLT so quick. We haven’t even sent in the money for payment yet. Now we are trying to decide if we should do annual passes or not? We have a Vero beach trip planned for October, and we will try to go a couple more times next year. Is there enough to do at Bay Lake to justify not going to MK?

Congratulations! BLT is one of our home resorts and we love it. The pools are great. There is a separate splash pad for the little, little ones so you may have to divide and conquer with another adult. There are outdoor games and activities (get a schedule when you arrive) and a community hall with lots to do. It may be tough avoiding MK with a perfect view of it from the elevators at BLT, but you can certainly find plenty to do without venturing in. Even just a trip around the resort monorail line could be pretty cool. If you have a lot of time, you might stop in at the Poly and GF just to walk around those. Plenty to see without a park ticket in those parts. We have even taken the boat over VWL for lunch on our rest day.

Thank you for the information..... This is our first stay on points and really was trying to decide about tickets. We decided against the tickets, and added 2 nights at AKL Savanna view instead!!!! We can't wait!!!!

We did 8 nights at BLT and 3 at Kidani. Our experience at Kidani was less than stellar. I hope you do better than we did. Just make sure that if you get locked out of your room, DO NOT give into walking a mile down to the front desk especially when it was not your doing.

oh no!! That's a long walk!

We requested a room close to the lobby at Kidani and didn't have a long walk.
BLT is amazing! Here are some ideas for a park free day:
You can take the boat over to Wilderness lodge campground and partake in the free evening bonfire with Chip and Dale.
Take the monorail over to polynesian to watch the torch lighting ceremony! (Featuring a fire twirler)
Monorail over to Grand Floridian to watch the Princess promenade (Disney prince and princess waltz and invite others to join in)
Visit Top of the World Lounge at the top of BLT to watch fireworks.
Have a great trip and welcome home! 🙂

Thank you so much for all of the information! We had a great first trip, and BLT was amazing.... but AKL was probably our favorite! The savanna view is just hard to beat. Also, there is so much to do at AKL that it kept the kids busy the entire time. We loved it.
