We made it! I have stayed at Disney Resorts for single night stays at least twice a year since my son was 5 years old when I became a single mom. He’s a big 15 year old now! I remarried 4 years ago and we
were able to buy DVC resale at the Poly. Our points were loaded in early September and we had 36 points to use! Booked a one night stay Sun-Mon at SSR preferred studio for Halloween weekend and a Sun-Mon in a 1 bedroom after Thanksgiving at AKL. I am learning the fun of trip reporting so thank you for your patience!
Hubby is active duty Navy and I am an SLP. We both love our careers but, with work, teens, caregiving for parents with needs, we were feeling zapped. Disney to the rescue! Just us. Son is home and taking care of the dog (his birthday trip at Poly with friends is coming soon in February). Blended family Disney trip planned for Memorial Day weekend.
Got up at 4 am, dressed, packed and in the car by 5. We were excited to enjoy early morning hours at MK.
We arrived at 7:20 and were in the park by 7:45. First stop: Peter Pan!It has been many years since I have been on this ride. The line is always too long and all of those years bringing my son, he was not interested! Thanks hubby!
Next stop: Haunted Mansion! Wait a minute. Never mind. Ride went down after 10 minutes of us standing in line.
Plan B: head to hubby’s fave, Buzz! But wait. Mine Train was only a 35 minute wait. Loved the fun queues for Peter Pan and Mine Train.
Now it’s time for Buzz! Uh oh. Another delay? We were scared it would close too but, good luck, got to board.
Aaron won this round but, I made an impressive comeback in the final quarter!
We enjoyed Carousel of Progress (a little worn around the edges but I love those old school animatronics) and People Mover. Enchanted Tiki and then some shopping to round out our early afternoon departure for SSR.
See ya real soon!! Thank you for reading and have a magical day!
