Finding another solo cruiser

I'd love to take a quick trip but it's so expensive to go solo. Has anyone found a safe way to find a cabin mate?

Have you asked friends/family/neighbors if they would want to go?

I haven't heard of anything set up to pair people together, and I don't know that I'd trust it if there is one.
