Favorite North Shore places to eat!

hopefully they will be done by January

If you mean the protests, not likely... this is a very contentious issue ... we do not want TMT on our sacred land ... but I will not go further as I do not want to turn this into any type of debate ... so unless TMT decides to move to the Canary Islands, we will still be protesting ...

I was reading some news sites and Saddle Rd isn't closed, but the road to MaunaKea is. They are putting up barriers to protect the protestors from traffic.

I've read that too but I know people who are up there, they say different. But this is all fluid, so best to check before you leave. And ask the hotel you're staying at for up to date info.

@HI_Tig808 Is the car break-in problem the same on the Big Island as it is in Oahu. We are looking to go to the Seahorse farm before we leave for Oahu and would have our luggage in the trunk.

Great question! In my opinion, it is not ... BUT ... tourist are still BIG TARGETS, no matter which island, be careful and aware of your surroundings. The telltale signs of a rental car are just so obvious. I would suggest calling Ocean Rider (I'm guessing that's where you're going) and ask them if they have security for their parking lot. Just tell them your concerns. I've never been, so sorry, I don't know how their security is. I hope you have a wonderful and safe trip! Please remember to listen to the lifeguards! Aloha!

P.S. if you do find out please share 🤙

Hello, HI_Tig808! Just a quick note to tell you how much I admire, respect and support you and your group's protection of your sacred land. Sending positive vibes for the resolution that you are working for.

On another note, do you have any recommendations for a breakfast and/or treat near Kualoa Ranch?

Mahalo nui loa! Greatly appreciate it <3

Depending upon which way you are driving up to Kualoa. There are SOOO many ono places to eat on the way. And the info I'm giving, I'm guessing you are staying at Aulani :)

If you drive up via Kamehameha Hwy through Haleiwa, I would suggest Cafe Haleiwa. BUT .. that is a LONG way to drive .. I would suggest driving back to Aulani that way ... very scenic.

If you drive up H3, its a little out of the way but not too much, Kailua town has some REALLY good eats. Cinnamon's, and Boots and Kimo's are two we really like. I've heard good things about Moke's too. Kalapawai is always good ... ummm .. so many good places .. here's the links, hope you enjoy! :)

Oh, here's an article with all the places I mentioned and more :)
