around anymore ?

I like the Rivera, never stayed there but would go at least one time a trip to see a show, I loved the layout, it was so old fashion It was like any minute I would see Dean Martin walking around

I've stayed there. It was old and they didn't even have desk clerks (only used touch screen kiosks), but it was clean and felt safe.

Heck, my trips to Vegas over the years include places that no longer exist or were renamed, like the original MGM Grand, Aladdin, Desert Inn, and Sahara. I've been to places that no longer exist like Bionion's Horseshoe and Stardust.

When did they do away with Bionion's?

They closed the hotel in 2009. Something about the economic downtown, although the cost of asbestos cleanup might have been a factor. The casino is still open, although a lot of people who heard about the hotel closing thought that it included the casino. If you check their website, they recommend staying at Four Queens, which is part of the same ownership group.

Hotel rooms dark, but there is still action at Binion’s casino

they just tore it down about a year ago, it was a little bit slezzy, I never stayed there but would go to she a show almost every trip, and like you said you felt like this must of been what vegas was like back in the day, you felt like the rat pack might walk by you any minute

Actually they are demolishing it in June/August, so its still standing. I'll be heading up there to watch the implosion

I saw the implosion of the New Frontier. Would love to see this one. I'll be in Vegas every weekend June through August so I hope to catch it on video. But I suspect they won't drop in on a weekend.
