Entertainment Club and Disney Club - Same Thing?

I just bought the Disney Club Card and it says that I can get the same discounts the Entertainment Club offers. I friend used her Entertainment Club book to get 2 for 1 admission to Disney Quest. She had a paper coupon from her Entertainment Club book. Can I get the same deal with my Disney Club Card or do I need the Entertainment book? Confused. . .

I have always wanted to know this too. I was just looking at them again today. I want to know if i should buy one or not.

I just joined the Disneyclub myself (used a code from Mousesavers and got it for $29 instead of $39 :D) I am still a bit confused about the entertainment thing. I called DisneyClub to ask about it and the CM i got didn't seem to know much more than me. She said that I could use my Disneyclub card to get an Entertainment discounts, that the Entertainment logo on the back was all I needed.

I asked her if I would get an entertainment book so I would know what savings were available. She said no, but I could log onto the DisneyClub website and access a full listing of Entertainment savings available to me and I could print them out of I wanted to.

So I tried that. The only thing is, the Entertainment listings on the Disney Club site are NOT NEARLY as extensive as the Entertainment listings through thier own site, entertainment.com. And apparently I can't access those without an actual Entertainment card number. I tried it with my Disney Club card number and it didn't work.

So now I am thinking, you only get limited Entertainment savings. And when I did a search for Disney Club entertainment savings in Orlando... there was convenentnly nothing available.

I did the same thing, and it didn't work. There must be someone who used this before, or knows how to use it.

Hi: I can't answer your question, but was wondering about using the disney club card to get an entertainment rate for the hotel room at universal, the hard rock hotel, but I think I read somewhere, that that won't accept the disney card for an entertainment rate. Does anyone know this answer. Thanks,

Deb.

Not all of the discounts available with the Entertainment Book are available through DC. In fact, last year I received a discount at the Hard Rock Hotel in Orlando through my Entertainment membership, but it wasn't available using my DC membership. Go figure.

In my 2002 Entertainment Book, I couldn't find a 2 for 1 at Disney Quest :(

So i should buy the book also. I really need the book to go out to eat. I am staying onsite for 2-3 nights and we are staying off site for 7 nights. So i thought the book would come in handy to save some money.

I like that deal for the disney crest. 2 for one. Where can i get one of those.

JuiceFruit: You DO get a discount on restaurants. You didn't mention what type of restaurants you wanted to eat but, but the DC membership gives you discounts for sit down restaurants. If you are looking for the coupons for fast food restaurants, you will need the entertainment book for those. Hope this helps.

Juicefruit .....I have the Orlando Entertainment book 2002. There is a coupon on page F115 for 20% off admission to Disney quest for up to 6 people. There is not one for buy one get one. This same coupon is also available in the back of the Birnbaums 2002 Disney World book. Also, do you have your hotel for offsite already? You can get up to 50% off rack rates of some hotels. I have Howard Johnson Maingate East for $30/night with it. There are alot of hotels listed as giving this discount in the Orlando area.

Yes we are staying at the Vistana Resorts. My cousin owns a timeshare and we are using it. Great deal. Thank you though. That is why i was looking into buying a book. I don't feel like cooking and i know it is cheaper to eat out than to eat at the parks. So i wanted to know if it would be worth it for me.

Have you gone to the entertainment book web site? they have many sample coupons you can print and use. here is the site
http://www.entertainment.com/
I hope that works. you can look at what the book has to offer. They definately have the fast foods, car washes and things like that along with fancy resturants buy one get one type deal. I looked at the disney club and they don't have nearly as many options.

I've purchased our local Ent. Book for the past 5 years or so and it always pays for itself in a couple of uses. I also purchased the Disney Club before I knew that they were affiliated. I used the Ent. Book to get a room at the Grosvenor in March for $80.00 for 4 adults in peak season which I thought was a good deal. When calling hotels, always ask for both discounts. Also, sign up for the Orlando Magicard which also offers some good discounts. I believe I will continue to purchase both Dis. Club and Ent. Book because they both work for me.

I recently emailed Entertainment (disneyaskus@entertainment.com) with this question:

"I just joined the Disney Club and understand that I
get acces to Entertainment savings. Do I have access
to the entire network of savings (as in the books?)
Or is the savings limited for Disney Club members?"

Below is the email they sent me in reply. It's a tad bit vague. but I think it tells us what we want to know:

As part of the Disney Club, Entertainment provides hotel, dining, and
retail discounts to members. Questions regarding your membership or for
additional membership materials should be directed to Disney Club guest
relations at:
(800) 654-6347.

Entertainment has a database of offers that are used in the 167
editions of the Entertainment book that are printed annually. Entertainment
also partners with various clients, like Disney, to provide additional
benefits to their membership programs. The merchant offers that are
included in this type of program are a subset of the large database of
offers that Entertainment has available. You may use the offers that
appear on-line or in the book that your membership provides. Your card is
not valid at all of the merchants listed on the Entertainment website.

Disney owns a wide range of hotels, restaurants and retail stores near
their parks where The Disney Club members receive discounts, as such,
they have chose not to include the Entertainment offers around their
parks in their program. Please refer to The Disney Club Members-Only web
site to find additional Disney discounts offered to you as a Disney
Club member. If you have questions regarding your Disney Club membership
please contact: Disney Club Guest Relations at (800) 654-6347. You
may also request a printed directory of merchants that will honor the
Disney Club Entertainment card.

The Disney Club would be happy to help you with your reservations at
their properties. If you would like further information regarding resort
rates and availability for Anaheim please call (800) 652-6244. For
Orlando, please call (407) 939-7754.

The Enteratainment Books is normally specific to the city you purchase it for. If I understand you correctly you want to purchase an Orlando Entertainment Book - but do not live in Orlando and probably will only use it the few days that you are there.

I know that I purchase the Entertainment Book for the city where I live - and I get my money's worth and more out of it.

But I use the grocery coupons, the video rental coupons, the special event coupons as well as the food coupons.

I would try to find out what coupons are in the 2002 book and determine if you really will go eat in those resturants while you are there.

Just my 2 cents

We have the entertainment book for Orlando 2002 and its LOADED. Itw as expensive though my mom gave it to hubby for Christmas it was 32 or 35 $ but we will be using the buy one get one for MEDEIVAL TIMES which alone is worth 44$. Theres tons of other stuff in there as well. I'm sure we wont use most of the book at any rate. It has dozens of b1g1 frees to nice sit down rests as well as loads of fast food stuff. Theres also all of the national stuff for cars hotels etc and soem other various online shopping codes and such.

In 2000, DH and I ordered the Orlando Entertainment book for our 16 day trip. We split our vacation between three resorts...offsite, Grosvenor and Dixie Landings. We only spent 7 days of our time in the parks, and then two days swimming at BB and TL waterparks. I did a lot of research on the area discounts before actually purchasing the book. Then spent hours going over the discount offers, listing all those we might use for our 2 wk+ vacation. We used it a LOT...including lunches, dinners, dinner theater, miniature golf, etc. and even some small savings on souvenirs. I kept a log of all our expenditures and the Entertainment savings came to over $250. When we dropped off our rental car (used Dollar and got a better rate than any of the Entertainment offers) I left the book on the front seat of the car in hopes that someone would find it and be able to use the rest of the book. If your vacation is only for a week or so and you plan to spend most of your vacation in the parks, then I suggest that you plan wisely and do the math to see if it really would be a bargain. Take into account the cost of purchasing the book - including shipping costs - to see just how much you would actually save. For us it was definitely worth it in 2000 because of the extended length of stay in the area. My WDW trips coming up this year are for 6 days in May (8-13) and 8 days in September (22-29) and I will NOT be purchasing the Entertainment books for those trips.
