9/27 MK “Clean Up” Day—we visited 10 days ago and hit all of our favorites, and even rode Space Mountain three times in a row with no wait. When a great airfare popped up we decided to return to catch some attractions that we’ve either overlooked or hadn’t riden in years and to take the pressure off having to hit all of “the mountains”, PP, and SDMT to consider it a successful day at the park.

Here’s how it all went down:

We grabbed an 8:00 am bus to MK from the Boardwalk Villas. Bussing from the resort is probably one aspect that I think Disney could improve on—we’ve experienced lots of people not respecting the lines and trying to jump ahead. The set up is confusing in contrast to pretty much everything else Disney does.

Through the gates at 8:25, we walked to Adventureland. No early line ups were allowed at Pirates or Splash but Big Thunder was open and we queued up and were done with our first ride by 8:55—just enough time to head over to Spash which opened exactly at 9. Out of Splash by 9:30, we hit Pirates. A little before 10:00, we made our way to Goofy’s Barnstormer and Dumbo. We were in Little Mermaid’s line by 10:40 just in time for a little delay as cleaning procedures took place. Our plan called for a mid morning break at Main Street Bakery which always seems to have a long, if efficient line. Entertaining us through our wait was the Villians Calvacade. A waving Gaston, Queen of Hearts, and the rest of the disparaged crew rolled down Main Street.

Fry in the sun we did, waiting for entry to the Carosel of Progress. The wait seemed long, at 28 minutes in the midday sun. 15 minutes in air conditioning did us well as we then tackled Tomorrowland Speedway before venturing to The Hall of Presidents and the Country Bears Jamboree for some much needed cooling.

We mosied over to the Skipper Canteen for a 2:50pm reservation where we ate in the S.E.A. Room and enjoyed a bottle of Veramonte, a nice crisp bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. Nothing can stop us now! It was then time to embark on the Jungle Cruise for an exercise in de-Nile (had to) that our day was almost complete. One trip around the Astro Orbiter and it was time to hit Main Street Confectionary for my favorite treat at WDW—a giant M&M Mickey Caramel Apple. Until we meet again in November—see ya real soon!
