DVC resorts set to open June 22!

WDW DVC resorts reopen 6/22. HHI and Vero reopen 6/15.

From: https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/b...-theme-parks-resort-hotels-and-disney-stores/

Additionally, Disney Vacation Club resorts at Walt Disney World will reopen to members and guests and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground will begin to reopen on June 22. Disney Vacation Club resorts in Vero Beach, Florida, and Hilton Head, South Carolina, will also open to members and guests starting on June 15. Plans to support required physical distancing as well as enhanced cleaning measures, along with a number of other safety and cleanliness protocols, will be implemented as part of this planned phased reopening.

Wow - that's interesting. Now the fun starts. What kind of capacity will they allow at the resorts? If it's the rumored 'reduced' capacity, will they selectively cancel some reservations?

It's been an interesting news day, but still way more questions than answers. Going to be a long a complicated process to reopen - but at least it's starting.

I am sure everyone heard about the parks and resorts opening with this schedule upon approval

Anyone know when DVC will cancel reservations for stays up until opening? They should put back points today so we can try to book for other dates

This gives a little more info on reservations.

"Because theme park capacity will be significantly limited as we welcome guests back to the magic, we will manage attendance through a new theme park reservation system that will require all guests to obtain a reservation for park entry in advance. At this time, we are temporarily pausing new ticket sales and Disney Resort hotel reservations so we can focus on guests with existing tickets and reservations (Disney Vacation Club members can still make new reservations). Existing ticket holders and Annual Passholders will be able to make reservation requests in phases before new tickets are sold; we’ll be reaching out to these guests soon to provide additional details. We will resume new ticket sales and hotel reservations after that period of time. Theme park reservations will be limited due to attendance limitations and will be subject to availability. More details about this new reservation system will be available soon. "

They could assign certain resorts to certain parks on select days. That way they could really control attendance. They might even make entrance free for being test subjects during that time.
I was part of the timed entry for the opening of GE for resort visitors at DL and that worked *so* well. (We were there the first week it opened). In retrospect it was the best time to be there by far. They could definitely implement something like that.

Any word on Disneyland, CA?
No, and the Villas at Grand California and Aulani were conspicuously missing in the resorts discussion.

So you can sit around for 19 days waiting for the MK and AK to open.
Yes, but there certainly was a very vocal group who said they didn't care if the parks were open. They wanted the resorts open . They got their wish. Now I fully expect to see many posts from those with reservations between 6/22 and 7/11 who don't want to go without open parks and want/expect concessions when they cancel because of that.

It says "begin to reopen", which leaves room to phase them in over time. Not that it'll be a LONG time, but they did leave themselves a little wiggle room with that wording.

Edit : email from DVC says they're all opening on 6/22. I guess that answers it!
