DVC Email Re: Vero Closures

I’ve just received an email from DVC concerning our 5 day stay at VB starting next Saturday stating the following may be closed for refurbishment: Tiger Lily Aquatic Play Area, Port Holes Mini Golf, Vero Beach Feature Pool, Whirlpool Spa, and the Pirates Plunge Pool Slide.
We have our daughter’s family travelling all the way from British Columbia and they have an infant and a 4 year old. There’s no way the rough Atlantic can provide the same safe environment that a kiddie pool can. To say I’m livid is putting it mildly. And the added insult to injury we find all this out a week before we arrive.
I’m not sure what we can do. Do we ask for some type of compensation for this inconvenience? If everything stated is indeed closed at the same time I find this totally unacceptable.

Below is from the website. Maybe they sent you something about next year's refurbishment.

The Resort's Feature Pool, Tiger Lily Wet Play Area, Pirate's Plunge Pool Slide, Port Holes Miniature Golf and the whirlpool spa will be unavailable in late September 2020 through late November 2020. Access to our beautiful, sandy beaches will remain open. We apologize for any inconvenience this work may cause

Unfortunately the date at the top of the email refers to November 2019 and the body of the text says ‘some or all of the following will be unavailable during your visit’. At this point I can only hope we can use the kiddie pool and splash pad for the grandkids at least part of the time.

    I've heard people are getting the email, but it sounds like an error given the refurb schedule.

    We received the email tonight as well. We stay November 20-23, 2019. Really hoping it might be a mistake!

    I spent the last little while searching the internet for info on VB pool area refurb info and have come up blank. Earlier tonight I sent Disney an email expressing my disappointment. Hopefully I'll get a reply from them that at least has more specific information.

    Hoping it's a mistake or it's something like a sidewalk being closed as being "some" may be closed.

    Called the resort directly this morning, it’s a mistake. Correction email going out soon. It’s next year, everything will be fine this month!

    We also called VB this morning & can confirm the email was sent in error. I have to say the woman we spoke with (Gail) was superb in terms of her customer service. Gail noted DVC working on a clarification email to go out asap. Much relief on our end this morning!

    I think I spoke to the same CM, she was great!
