Thank you! Where is this spot? Is it on the beach?

Ignore those chairs, they aren't usually there. But you want to be somewhere around here to have the castle in the background. The beach/fire pit area between the first bungalow and the boat dock is your best bet. The trees on that island block the castle the more you go to the left of this pic/towards the boat dock.

This specific pic doesn't look all that great for some reason, but in person the view looks fantastic and the castle is quite visible.

Booked (via an, ahem, clueless TA with no suggestions as what building to request but offered a great rate). We’ve only stayed DVC in the past there. Hoping the experts here can help me, please! Still confused after pouring over tikiman & touring guide websites. Naturally, I realize all requests are just that, but encouraged last 2 trips when my touring guide one did finally come through after striking out for so long.

My party will consist of myself, DiL & GD; who is hoping for the same sort of pulldown bed under the TV set she loved @ BWV recently. I’m starting to think that standard may only include 2 Q beds, although the WDW website indicates it will sleep 5 adults.:confused3

I generally try to secure the top floor and would like a full balcony vs patio & avoid the 2nd floor entirely. Want to try to skip that long walk to TTC, so trying to avoid Aotearoa, Fiji, Tuvalu & Nive.

Have a standard room booked. Reading conflicting information as to whether Samoa is still considered standard or not, in full or part. It doesn’t appear it is standard on touring guides room finder. Realize Samoa is very popular and don’t want to waste a request if the building is not eligible for my category.

/\ does anybody know for sure?

2nd choice is Rarotonga, purely for convenience as to GCHouse & epcot monorail

/\ Again, not sure if we would be limited to the monorail side or if I could request the quiet pool view via touring guides’ system.

TIA for any suggestions/clarification:thumbsup2
Million dollar question these days! Samoa is no longer considered standard view. Niue is only two floors so you’ll want to avoid that based on your requests here. We wound up requesting Rarotonga based on proximity to everything as we are also standard view.

Two things everyone has assured me on: there aren’t really any bad views at Poly and it’s small enough that everything is a quick walk.

I request Rarotonga for standard views purely for proximity to the GCH and TTC. Both sides are nice. The Niue side is purely internal resort views and the other side can be semi-parking lot/monorail.

There is no pulldown bed under the tv in the regular rooms, but there is a sleeper sofa. The back pulls down and it turns into a single bed:

It is incredibly beautiful there! Ok, thanks for confirming that Samoa is out for us.

I’ve never seen that sort of sofabed, anywhere. Interesting, thank you for taking the time to post the picture!

FYI , poly, CR and gf all have that 3rd bed. They are super easy to do since you just flip down from the back towards you and it's done!

Also no uncomfortable bars in your back like an usual sofa bed. The sheet is on it and the pillows and blanket are in a bag in the closet. You can request more from mousekeeping too.

Thank you, this is great information!

Okay that sounds familiar, thanks! Will plan for that.

10-4. Not sure when your trip is, but HEA has a more inconsistent start time this summer/fall than it did last year....9:15pm though 8/18, then 8:55pm from 8/19-8/30, then 8:30pm 9/1-9/15, then 8pm, etc. So just keep an eye out in case they tinker with the Poly EWP stop time at some point.

so excited! I just booked a poolside patio during our stay! We're moving from Wilderness to Poly and have EMM in the morning and MNSSHP in the evening. I thought having a patio would be the perfect way to spend some time if we don't get an early check in.

For those who want more info, it's early October, 3 Disney adults and 2 children, total cost is $58.58. She also noted it's for my 40th birthday and put that in the comments. If it results in pixie dust, I'll be sure to report back!

Sounds like a great way to spend that day! Hope you have a great time :wizard:.

My husband and I are staying at the poly for the 1st time in February. This is my 40th birthday trip and we are meeting his brother's family down there few days. I'm so excited the 211 days can not go fast enough!!!!

What a great way to spend your birthday! Hope the days go fast for you! Enjoy the rest of your planning :).

Woohoo! We will be on the ground in 96 hours and heading towards the magical express. Not that either of us are counting :rotfl:

Have a great time!! :yay: :yay:

Trip is next week! Had no idea HEA was changing times but luckily we planned on 9:15 pm. Will watch for EWP times when we check in just in case. Thank you!

Oh dd took an uber to poly on 7/4. (Arrived at mco about 8pm)We gave her the reservation # and room#. However they did NOT ask the driver for any info when she arrived at poly about 9;45pm.

I sat outside with a Pogmosa (pog with sparkling wine) for her for a while waiting. There was clearly MANY people not from the resort there for the fireworks. Poly did nothing to stop people as far as I could see.

Also we took an uber from poly to CR on the next day. Again , they just flagged the driver through. He just said " I'm dropping off" and they let him pass.

The resort was packed! It was a bit disappointing . However having Cl was a life saver. Lots of us "made do" lol crammed in the lounge.
