Hey All, we will be staying at CSR in August with our 3 year old. Any recommendations on which room locations would be best with a toddler, taking into account the playground, bus stops etc? We are doing the parks in the mornings and plan to be back at the resort for afternoons and evenings (maybe go back to a park one evening for fireworks if she is able to stay awake, that will depend on her). Thanks for any suggestions.

What room category did you book?

If you are in a standard room, you should consider Casitas..... specifically Casitas 4. That would put you near bus stop 2, the first stop for buses heading to and from parks. It is a pleasant walk through the sidewalks, greenery & fountains of Casitas 1-3 to get to El Centro. The walk along Lago Dorado to the pool area is not long.

(Note that the tower will be open by then....always in the back of my mind that the bus routes around CSR could change.)

I think Ranchos would be a good fit since they're closest to the Dig Site/main pool and Bus Stop 3 which is the second bus stop. I preferred staying there than in the preferred rooms just for the closeness of the bus stop.

Would booking a "preferred room" be my best bet for being far from the construction? That's what I originally booked, but the cast member I spoke with didn't specify if that would be "standard preferred" or "water view preferred" (are they separate categories or are all "preferred" the same?)
Distance from the main amenities is not a factor for me, but having something nice to look at when I leave my room is--so I switched to a "water view" room (and saved $150.)

But a few days ago I was watching a video tour on youtube of the current construction, and saw the last building in the cabanas area is REALLY close to construction. According to touring plans, there's about 21 "water view" rooms in that building, and I'm worried we could get one of them.

I phoned in a request for the Casitas section, but since I know that is just a request and isn't a 100% guarantee, I'm nervous.

Our stay is in mid May, and we'd likely be arriving at the resort around 7 pm, so I also worry it's late enough there would be less availability to request a room change.

So, if being far from construction is a priority for me, is booking a preferred room my best bet? Is "preferred" all one booking category, or is there a separate "water view preferred?" Thank you!

VAfamily, I would suggest you call a reservations specialist and talk to them. 407-934-7639. They have been very helpful to me finding my "perfect" room. If you get someone who isn't into helping you, call back and talk to someone else. Some CSR are more helpful and knowledgable than others.

We are thinking of switching from Music to CSR for our trip next month.
I'm trying to find out where the refillable drink stations are. Someone on this thread said Cafe Rix and Siestas. But I dont see a Siesta area on the map. Am I just missing it?

Just found out we are being housed at CSR from May 8-13 for DD's cheer competition. Resort looks beautiful. We had to register through Varsity so we won't get our reservation numbers or MBs until we arrive at check-in. I know Varsity is all Standard Rooms. Where in the resort are the standard rooms located? Is the resort so large that you cannot walk and must rely on shuttles within the resort? I am an avid walker so can easily walk 20 minutes would not consider that significant. Is it possible to walk completely around the lake? Looking for exercise options that are outdoors. Lastly, any special gems I should do/look for at the resort that seasoned CSR people know about or recommend?

Check out today and I have to say, I loved CS. I had stayed here once for a weekend about fifteen years ago and remembered nothing so it felt like staying a a totally new resort. The grounds are gorgeous, the walk around the lake is lovely, and everyone was wonderful. I was staying in Cabanas 8C, right next to the tower, so it was a hike to El Centro but you can see they are planning a walkway that will make it easier. Never had any trouble with the buses. What a gem.

We used to stay in Cabanas 9B all the time and it was only a short walk to El Centro. I know Cabanas 8 used to be a fairly short walk as well (come out of Cabanas and make a right to El Centro. Now do you have to go all the away around the lake the other way to get to El Centro (come out and go left)? I would assume no walking path in front of the construction.

Not all the way around. There's a temporary bridge over the lake once you get near the main pool to get to El Centro.

Thank you. We just booked this morning for mid May and wanted to get an idea of the walk. We booked Water View King and not sure where we will be placed.

The standard rooms are basically everywhere except Casitas buildings 1-3 which are the preferred rooms. As a walker, I think you will enjoy the resort a lot and you should be fine walking between the different areas but you can use the buses if you needed to.

CSR is in itself a hidden gem to me - there are so many beautiful hidden areas and lovely views around the resort - it does feel like getting away from the hustle and bustle of WDW to me. My “gems” are all food related... we love the nachos at Siestas pool bar and the food at Rix Sports Bar. The pools themselves are pretty wonderful as is the main building. Just feels Disney to me!

Enjoy your trip!!! Good luck to your daughter!

K, so someone said that Preferred rooms are all in Casitas section (buildings 1-3). Just looked it up and last time I was there I was in Casitas 3 but don't remember booking preferred?
Are there standard ones here too? Or did I get upgraded and not even know the fairy happened? haha

If by “someone” you mean me, then yes, “someone” said that :P

As far as I know, Casitas 1-3 are all preferred rooms. If you got Casitas 3 on a standard booking, then you did indeed get some pixie dust.

Correct. Casitas 1, 2, and, 3 are preferred rooms

We just returned from a stay in Casitas 3, during which our family had three rooms, all with king-size bed. The rooms had been recently refurbished; to me in addition to the great beds, the walk-in shower was full size (no tub) which is great for adults, maybe not so great if you need to bathe young'uns. Our rooms were right around the corner from the pool, laundry, fitness room and spa. Although we were on the grade level, no noise at all from above or next door. We were so happy with the accommodations and the service, we booked the tower (under construction) for next year's runDisney Star Wars races. Paul

I booked Coronado Springs on a bit of a whim at the end of Free Dining and hadn't given it much thought until recently and now I'm trying to dig into all the changes and do some planning! We are very familiar with Disney but have only stayed at this resort once probably 10 years ago. This trip is just my husband and myself and we'd like to be near a pool and bus stop. Our trip is Sept 30 - Oct 5. I know the towers will be open and I see people saying they booked the towers, but as I'm looking to see what location I'd like to request, I'm wondering are the towers an option for us or do they have to be reserved differently and will they be a higher cost? Right now I'm thinking of Ranchos 7B or Cabanas 8A. These look near to a pool and bus stop but wondering if there will be easy access over to the food court area with bridges or will we need to walk around the towers to get there? Any opinions of 7B or 8A - and are these "easy" to get if requested? Also if you are staying in the towers is the nearest pool the Cabanas quiet pool or the Main dig pool? Just wondering where those who stay at the towers will flock to swim? Thanks, Jo
