Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

I would definately call and make a notation. We booked standard in September and had 2 queens but were moved (per our request) to a king room. This did have a sofa that I presume was a pullout. This room was directly across from the lounge. I honestly don’t know if it was “still” standard since we were moved, but it did seem to allow for an additional person.
Thank you. I will definitely make a call. It would not be the end of the world but we would certainly prefer two real beds.

I don’t normally do these kind of posts and I know no one can answer this for me, just need a sounding board at the moment! :-)

Adults only two night trip. Around the holidays. YC Standard View vs BWI Garden Cottage

Have stayed at both resorts; haven’t stayed in a Garden Cotttage but know them well from reading about them around here over the years.

I am in the minority on this thread in that we don’t ‘love’ BWI or BWI CL, although we’re not opposed to staying there. We do have a growing fondness for YC CL, but were recently there.

With a two-nighter, the CL piece of this isn’t necessarily fundamental to our decision-making.

BWI Garden Cottage is a bit cheaper.

The way I see it... YC is the resort we ‘like’ better, although an inferior room type. The BWI Garden Cottage would guaranty a king, and be a chance to try something different (always looking to knock new things off the list).

I booked the YC room, but am kind of torn.

Any words of wisdom out there? Thanks for reading, I know this was long.

Sis and I stayed at the Poly last week but resort hopped on one day. We strolled around the grounds outside the BWI garden cottages and it was so inviting and peaceful. I def would do this for a quick adults trip. Logistics is so much easier when you are not juggling kids so thinking the "stroll" to the lounge would be too much of a negative. Good luck in your decision!

Just back from a quick 4 day trip - stayed at Poly Club Lagoon View. Our room was 2516 so we were on the lounge floor which was good but way down almost to the other end of Hawaii. Of course, no balcony but that was not really an issue. We had an unfortunately placed palm that obstructed the castle but otherwise our view was really good. I took DME from the airport for the first time (sister who is Florida resident was meeting me there) and that went very smoothly with the Poly as the second stop. Got the room ready text while on the bus but wanted to see how check in would go so I stopped at the Front Desk under the Club Level sign. I regretted doing that as it was very disjointed and unorganized even though there was only one other party checking in. Cast members finally got it together and one of them escorted both parties but it was not particularly magical. She handed off the other party to the concierge at the Hawaii desk and took me to my room. Room was lovely and clean - very spacious with lots of storage. We had two queen beds and a daybed plus a lounge chair with ottoman.

Positives of stay:
Large room and good view of the lake, beach, and GF in the distance.
Personal itinerary printed each day and placed under the door with FPs listed along with other pertinent info.
Quiet hall and room
Grounds were beautiful and easy walk to TTC
Fairly quick access to the lounge
Incredible view of the castle and fireworks from the lounge...we could even see Tink fly during the show!
Full size water bottles (Dasani) avail all the time in the lounge. Not chilled but accessible.
Good beer and wine available along with a spiked punch that was yummy. The wine and punch was self pour from a station near the main food area and good beer choices are in the cooler. I was pleased with mugs, glasses and to-go cups for any situation.
I was able to book a split stay summer 2019 Bounceback with ease from the room.
Mousekeeping was good with turndown service done without request.

Negatives of stay:
Musty/moldy smell in Hawaii hallways and in the GCH in certain areas. Our room smelled fine.
Rather robotic lounge cast members who seemed less than enthusiastic. They were very slow to clear the tables and only offered refills, etc. one time. I honestly like to get things myself but still enjoy the offer.
Access to tables in the lounge was very tight. I wanted to rearrange things to help with the flow. When carrying drinks or dishes it was very hard to negotiate. I think the whole lounge needs to be reworked to get the stations (coffee, bread and toaster, fruit) in better form.
Offerings were not as enjoyable as the GF (Sugarloaf) last month. This, of course, is very subjective but sis and I like the GF Club Level so much better and it was actually less expensive than the Poly.
During the fireworks show, the lounge sconces are dimmed but the overhead spotlights are left on which makes the viewing hard with reflections in the glass. Also, the speaker that pipes the music is distorted and garbled a bit. It needs to be upgraded.

These are all nit piks and even though we enjoyed our stay, I think I would choose WL or GF over the Poly...it's just not my fav. Up next: BWI CL in January and then the carpe diem trip with my kids/gkids next summer: AOA 2 days, YC CL WV 6 days, GF RPC 6 days. I am blessed.

My in-laws had 2516 in July, I'll take the liberty to supplement your report with a view photo if you don't mind. You're right, the castle is back there somewhere! :-)

SAY WHAT!?!?!! A report of bottled water at Poly CL? Wow, I'm stunned. That is really awesome to hear!

Thanks for your detailed report, glad you enjoyed your trip overall (even with the negatives).

@trishadono Hey! All packed yet? I got everyone done yesterday!! 10 Days to Go for us!
Waiting on the weather

I did snag a 7dmt for 3-4pm on arrival day. Hmmm that might incentivize dh to leave dmil after lunch to get to Disney. :rolleyes1

My guys said they really don't want to go. I told dh it's like when the kids were little, I took them for presidents weekend because otherwise they'd spend the weekend playing video games or tv.

It's the same, I live with 2 guys. They are not going to want to decorate, bake or shop that weekend so we might as well walk around , swim and ride boats:thumbsup2

Not long now:woohoo:

Oh and cute purple wall pic.

That’s great!!! I hope you get to leave earlier!! I’ve been trying SO hard to get DH to take kids out of school the day we leave but doesn’t want them to miss anymore.

I’m sorry the guys don’t want to go. I’m sure once they’re there they’ll feel differently!!!

I literally pack a little of everything!! My clothes range from jackets to bikinis lol lol November is tough!!!

Single digits!!! See you soon!!

...thank you!!! :-)

GADisneyDad, another vote for the garden cottage. I agree with the others, its only 2 nights and you can't stay there with the kids. We feel the same way you do about BWI but loved the cottage. We really didnt mind the walk to the lounge. Not convenient for bringing something back to the room though. DH only wants to stay at BWI if we can get a cottage. I will add that if you had a WV room at the YC it would be a harder decision, I would say YC then. Good luck with your decision.

It's getting close!! :jumping1:

Thanks for your review! Sorry about the palm tree that obstructed your view. I stayed Poly LV CL last month and got lucky as we were assigned 3rd floor, room 3518 (right above where you were), but had a direct view of the castle. I agree though, even if we weren't able to see the castle, the view would have still been pretty. Our room experience was the same as it was very clean with plenty of storage. Glad you had a great time :).

Full size water bottles (Dasani) avail all the time in the lounge. Not chilled but accessible.

This must be a new change as we were there 10/24-10/29 and no bottled water. When I didn't see any out, I asked and was told no bottled water, but if I had one they could fill it in the back as much as needed. Not as convenient as grabbing one, but it worked ;).

Musty/moldy smell in Hawaii hallways and in the GCH in certain areas. Our room smelled fine.

I'm sorry your experience in these areas wasn't the best. This was the total opposite of our experience just a few weeks ago. Nowhere ever smelled musty/moldy and the CL CMs were very friendly and personable the whole time we were there. We always received a "hello/aloha", "good morning", "goodbye", etc any time we entered/left the lounge and we were always asked if we needed anything. Tables were also cleared in a quick/efficient manner. If you stay Poly CL again in the future, I hope that stay is a better experience :flower3:.

I literally pack a little of everything!! My clothes range from jackets to bikinis lol lol November is tough!!!

I agree, the winter months are tough because you can't pack for just one season :sad2:.

You're going to have a great time!! :yay:

I am known for overpacking...lol. I know I won't wear everything I take, but I just can't skim down because I know I'll want/need the few things I left behind .

:rotfl: I’m the SAME way!!! Probably won’t wear half of what I packed - but I’d rather have it with me than at home!!! Hey, you never know!!!! When are you going again? You just got back, right?
