Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Thank you!

There is availability at both the Poly and CR with TPV CL, but we are wanting to stay RPC this trip. I guess it is because we have stayed in SL so often lately and we want to reconnect with the main building RPC, experiencing the music and more spacious lounge. SO, standard view will have to be fine. I am happy to hear that the rooms facing the Poly have nice views!!!

Hey there, GADisneyDad14!

Those pics are great! It looks like you were very fortunate in your room assignment! Thank you so much! I feel much better about the standard view with your pics and Mickeynut1's reassurance. I believe that we will be fine with the view in either direction and simply request a 4th floor room. I'm not sure why I should be concerned - we have stayed in SL many times and all the rooms there are standard view! LOL!

FWIW, I think my room request for my RPC trip was simply “Fourth floor, close to the lounge.” Pretty easy! :-)

We’re at RPC right now. Checked in about 2 hrs ago. Not very impressed. We waited at least 10 minutes for someone to come to our car to ask if we wanted help with our luggage. Apparently they do not greet you outside and escort you up to RPC for checkin anymore. We had to wait in line like everyone else to checkin. Got 3rd floor. Room is small and dated. The big laugh is that they called to say they couldn’t find our luggage and it ended up being an hour before they found it. We got a whole 3 bath towels. I find that unusual because in the past it was common to have at least 6-8 bath towels plus a good assortment of toiletries. We got a bar of soap, a tube of shampoo and conditioner in the bath and a bar of soap in the sink area. These may sound very petty issues but with what we paid for this room I’m not feeling like I made a wise decision booking here. Had much better experience at Yacht club and Beach club. Hope this trip improves!

Oh no! I hope that you have an improved experience going forward! It sounds disappointing for sure!

I would request extra towels and toiletries from housekeeping.....but you shouldn't have to bother with that in RPC.

Mine, too. Honestly I think the standard view rooms there are all lovely. In fact, after staying SV I haven't had any desire to book another room with a MK view there (too far from the lounge ;) ).

Yeah, having now stayed SL too, RPC was so much easier in terms of room requests. All the floors are high up, no trees or plants blocking anything, don't really have to worry much about noise (except maybe the rooms by the atrium do get some). I was surprised at how nice the view really was!

Thank you for your kindness Babsy! Maybe I’m getting old and persnickity! I’ll post tomorrow’s adventure. I hope for the best!

Absolute newbie - first ever post (hope I'm doing this right). Staying at GF SL over New Year's weekend. Planning on spending time in the MK on 12/30 and 1/1 and staying at the resort on NYE, which happens to be my birthday. I've been looking for information on GF resort events for NYE. I've seen the general GF schedule of events for December, but it shows no specific NYE related events. Also, has anyone used DSS to arrange for specialty cakes?

GF on NYE - FUN!

I have inquired with DSS before about specialty cakes. They are really just a conduit to put you in touch with other Disney departments that you need to deal with directly. For me, they've recommended things like Disney Floral & Gifts, the Cake Hotline, given other misc info about ordering cakes through Disney Dining, etc (I can't remember all the specifics). Some people have commented on this thread in the past that they were expecting DSS to take a more active role in helping them order something, but my experience has mostly been that they will just point you in various directions.

I'm sorry I can't help on any NYE-specific GF activities.

Hope you have a great trip!

PS: Were you the one posting on the 12/30 & 12/31 fireworks thread? Sorry if I'm confusing you with someone else.

:welcome: to the DIS!

Hello - yes, I was the person posting on the 12/20 & 12/31 fireworks thread! Trying to get my ducks in a row in terms of planning. Thanks for the information on the specialty cakes. I wondered if DSS would actually arrange something, or just point me in the right direction. I did end up phoning them on the cake topic. They can arrange for the Disney Celebration cake with Happy Birthday ears at a table serve restaurant. Those are the little Mickey hat-shaped cakes which are available day-of, assuming the restaurant has not run out of stock. However, the Happy Birthday ears are not guaranteed and are unlikely to be in stock day-of. DSS helping with that is good. Otherwise, you're right - for the true specialty cakes, it's going to be Private Dining or special orders from one of the bakeries. DSS also said that they did not yet have the NYE events calendar for the Grand Floridian.

I can't help with NYE events, but wanted to say I hope you have a great trip :wizard:.

You're welcome! I think RPC is a great change up from Poly and CR. I don't think you'll be disappointed in any view as they are all great, IMO. Have a great time :goodvibes.

I agree! ::yes::

I'm sorry your trip didn't get off to the best start. I hope it gets better and things turn around for the rest of your stay :).

We are here now and if defintely looks pretty much identical!

Hope you're having a great time :goodvibes.

Hello - is anyone staying at WL CL? We have an upcoming stay late January. Do they still provide water bottles and fresh fruit? Can anyone post recent pics and tips? The last time we were there was in 2015. Thank you!

These aren’t exactly recent, but some lounge / food pics from this time last year:

WL CL Food - November 2016

WL CL Lounge - November 2016

I’ve seen more recent posts which show what I’d consider ‘relatively’ similar offerings as well although I’m sure there are some things that have evolved/changed.

The lounge had just opened when we stayed there - it’s in a new spot (opposite side of the Atrium from where it used to be). The space is really well done and was super cozy.

Hope it helps!

Wow @GADisneyDad14 thank you so much for the link, and posting all the lovely photos and detailed information. It’s too bad they got rid of the water bottles. We used to bring them to the park, and then refill at the park water stations. Did they have takeout containers for the food? I’d like to be able toake a lunch from the breakfast offerings (cold cuts and crossiant). If not, I’ll bring my own ziplock bags lol.

No problem!

I don't remember, did I say something in my old posts about no bottled water? I don't recall if WL had bottled water or not. Something tells me they did have it upon request, but I'm not sure about that? Maybe someone who has stayed recently will have a better memory than me.

When I was there, they didn't have take-out/to-go containers, but did have disposable trays you could use to take items back to your room. Not sure if they still have them though.

Ziplock bags are likely a better way to go if you really need some storage/portability.

Have fun!

In October they did have small bottled water, no take out containers and I don’t remember seeing any trays. As the queen of ziploc bags, I took at least 20 and threw a couple lock and lock containers too in the suitcases

So....we just got back from our first on-site stay. We were Tower Club with a theme park view. The original plan was to do club level at CR first, then GF on the next trip, then followed by AKL or BWI. But at the end of our stay we got a bounceback deal and we booked a trip for next year right back at Tower Club at CR. I don't think we will ever stay anywhere else. Thanks to all on this thread for all of the great info!!

We checked out 12/3 & during our stay they did have small water bottles in the lounge fridge. There were trays & to-go cups but I'm not sure about other containers for food. We were also last there in 2015. The new lounge is nice & there is still plenty of space for lobby viewing.
