"Disney through the Years" January Exercise Challenge

:welcome:to the January 2017 Exercise Challenge!

Here’s how it works:
Each person chooses a goal in minutes, and posts progress toward that goal as they exercise. (The type of exercise you count is up to you.) You can choose a total number that means something to you, or set a daily target and multiply. (January has 31 days, so I’ve listed some common conversions.)

15 minutes/day = 465
20 minutes/day = 620
30 minutes/day = 930
45 minutes/day = 1395
1 hour/day = 1860



Since it’s a new year, our theme for this month is “Disney through the Years”. To keep you checking in, I’ll be discussing Disney releases year by year - starting way back in 1934, and going up through 1967. (My main resource is a list in the book Walt Disney Conversations, by Kathy M. Jackson.)


One of the fun things about our challenge is color changes :rainbow:, so you’ll get a new color when you hit certain percentages of your goal. To keep us in the spirit of our New Year’s resolutions, here are our motivating colors for the month:

10% of goal - Bouncing Blue
25% of goal - Optimistic Orange
50% of goal - Powerful Purple
75% of goal - Promising Pink
90% of goal - Resilient Red
100% of goal – Go-For-It Green

I'm in for 600. We will be at WDW for over a week this month and quite frankly December wore me out. I need some rest haha

The theme sounds fun, you had me at Donald :)

My husband got me adjustable dumbbells for Christmas and I'm in love with them. Can't wait to do a proper weight workout with them. I've used them for a quick one at the end of a heavy cardio workout and went way lighter than I'm capable of.
 


I'm in again. 2000 minutes this time. We're going to WDW this month, and I know there will be tons of walking. Plus, with a goal that big, I'll have to keep up the momentum at home, too. Thanks for hosting, PollyannaMom! Sounds like a great theme. Can't wait to learn something new!!! Happy New Year, everyone!

I'm adding 15 minutes, for 15/465, and the team total stands at 310/10,125 ~ 3%.

I'm in for 1200 this month, I'm determined to get back on track - I need to increase my mileage in preparation for Princess Half next month and doing a 31 day yoga challenge.

137 minutes yesterday - 8 mile run/walk, strength, and yoga
50 minutes today - yoga, core, and HIIT
