Speaking of Disney Gift Cards, you all saw this one right?

To commemorate 90 years of Mickey Mouse, Disney Gift Card partnered with Walt Disney Imagineering to create a crystal-encrusted Disney Gift Card in honor of this milestone anniversary. Specialists from Swarovski took the task all the way to Austria and developed a brand-new way to adhere crystals to the entire face of the card. The result is a spectacular collector’s item any Mickey connoisseur will cherish for years to come.

For a purchase price of $300, the card comes loaded with $90. It is one of only 5,000 premium boxed gift cards. The $90 in value can be spent on practically all things Disney — including Theme Park tickets, resort stays, Disney vacations, dining, Mickey merchandise and beyond at Disney locations across the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico.

The card, encrusted with over 2,500 premium Swarovski crystals, is delivered in a custom box almost as stunning as the card itself. Ready for display, the magnetic-closure box is the first to carry the Disney Gift Card Collector’s Series insignia and includes a vellum certificate describing the grandeur of the card.

To preserve the integrity of the crystals, this Disney Gift Card does not have a magnetic strip but rather a barcode that can be scanned at point of purchase. As with any Disney Gift Card, it never expires and can be reloaded with up to $1,000. The initial $90 value can be transferred to another Disney Gift Card at DisneyGiftCard.com.

Update: My BB 10% on the ad items went pending for a $25 GC. Going to jump in and try $225 (which is the most it will let me buy - 3 $25 cards and 3 $50 cards).

This is through RMN, correct? When I click on it I get a QR code to use in the store. Is that the one that's worked or is there an online option? Would like to try this today. Thanks!

Yes, RMN. It's an online purchase, 10% cash back on weekly ad items. You click to activate the offer and shop through that. I did it on the 13th and it went pending today. Did 2 orders, $100 & $150 with the AMEX BB offer.

I used their "Contact Us" link basically asking where all of the choices went. I'll post their reply, if I get one.
I contacted them and this is the response I just received:

Thank you for contacting us with your inquiry. At this time there is a limited selection of Disney Gift Card designs available to purchase online. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

I still don't understand why.

That is the exact same response I got. I hate when I ask a "Why?" question and do not receive a "Because..." answer.

"At this time", hopefully it really is just temporary. I have a list cards I want to get!

Mine did ultimately go pending. I just tried with a $25 DGC. I just went and bought another $225. Fingers crossed!!
I purchased $150 worth last night so my fingers are crossed too. I also took a chance and bought a $100 card from staples to see if I get the 4%, I got $3.50 back plus 3% from BOA for that purchase so the 4% will be a bonus.

So $210.00 for the crystals then? Ya, I’ll pass on that one!

Does WDW allow you to buy a gc
with one of their gc’s? I really want the Spira card but would prefer to pay for it with a gc I got for less than face value.

I’m not sure what their minimum load is ($10? Or $5) but you could buy it for the minimum then transfer your balance through the site.

ETA, this is from the Mom’s panel: “the minimum amount is $25. I called my local Disney Store to see if they had a minimum amount if purchased in store, and they let me know that it is $15, but can vary from store to store. However, if you are purchasing directly from a Walt Disney World Resort hotel or merchandise location, they can be purchased from $5-$1000.”

So $5 isn’t bad to spend for the card you want.

I’m not sure when they’ll get the Spira card either. We were there Saturday for the first AP preview and they were already out of stock

The Spira card needs to initially be loaded with $100. After that it functions like a regular Disney gift card.

Thanks everyone. That stinks. I read elsewhere on the dis that someone asked a cm who said the Spira won’t be available until opening day.

So... I'm on the target site trying to buy a gift card through paypal but its saying "PayPal not available" has this happened to anyone else recently? I just ordered one less than a month ago with paypal no problem.

Edit: I called and after waiting/trying to get help for 20+ minutes, being hung up on and recalling I was told that they are getting reports about the issue, have been in contact with their tech team and are trying to fix it and to try again in the morning. :badpc:

I used paypal to purchase a gift card yesterday but today it was grayed out and said not available. So i just added the visa gift card to my target acct and then paid with it. This was about 45 min ago and i just received the gift card. so maybe try that.
