they announced another resort by the wilderness Lodge to be built by 2022.what are they thinking? Where are all these people going to fit in the parks.??They should be building more rides and attractions instead?what is going on

To be fair, they are building some more rides and attractions. But your point is well taken. Building another DVC resort when they have yet to complete or begin selling the current one (Riviera) is crazy.

They wouldn’t do it if they didn’t anticipate the demand. The resorts will sell. They built Poly before Aulani sold out. Heck, Aulani still has not sold out. They started selling CCV before Poly sold out. Reflections will take a few years to build because they aren’t modifying an existing structure like they did with Poly and CCV. They’re building from the ground up. Riviera will be close to sold out by the time Reflections is complete.

The majority of park guests do not stay onsite. Adding another onsite resort will have very little impact n crowd size.

Do you have a link where we can read about this announcement?

Or are you talking about Reflections, which was announced quite a while ago?

Right! This is the point everyone misses when they think more resorts = more crowded parks. These resorts aren't attracting people who weren't coming to WDW originally. WDW attracts those people. Then those people have to decide on a place to stay. Disney is just trying to bring them on property to trap that cash in the bubble.

I would be surprised if Riviera is close to sell out by then with the new rules DVD made. I sure don't want it.
It'll sell out just fine. Most people aren't aware of the restrictions or even the resale market at all.

They still house only a moderate percentage of daily park guests (depends on the season obviously). The biggest effect is siphoning off business from the neighboring hotels.

Agree with this more resorts doesn’t mean more foot fall in the parks. The resorts don’t attract people to the parks it’s the other way around people who go to the parks anyway are attracted to the resorts
