Hi all
Firstly I just want to say Hiiii, I was a frequent dlp visitor up until a few years ago (some of you may remember me lol) when a few life problems got in the way, but we are all booked and paid (finally feels more real now it's paid) we are going December 18th for 4 nights 5 days staying at Newport Bay... sorry I'm getting off topic lol. My question is we don't know if to take my dads wheelchair or hire one there, he usually hires one but my dad this year has found he needs his wheelchair more often. We have never had a problem with help at Ebsfleet. Does anyone know what kind of help he can get when we get to Marne la vallee (more worried about the coming home part) and how we go about getting the help
Thanks in advance

Hi Karen, and yes, I do remember you – welcome back! Not that I get on here much myself nowadays…

Back to your question – what sort of help are you looking for at Marne le Vallee Chessy station? I have travelled to DLP many times by train with my mobility-reduced son but only by TGV within France so my experience may be a little different but I hope would still apply. When I book I use the “Accès Plus” service which provides a companion to meet you at the station and escort you to your train and then at the other end you are met again at the train and helped to descend and with your luggage etc. This followed an horrific accident my son had descending the train before we learned about the service. I don’t know how you access this from the UK (and you do need a blue badge to be eligible) but it would be worth asking wherever you buy your tickets from. Just a word of warning though, one time nobody turned up at the DLP end although luckily fellow passengers helped me with my son but it was very remiss of them. Most times the system works very well and the staff assigned are friendly and helpful.

Hope this helps and have a wonderful trip! Cherry :goodvibes

Thank you Cherry, hope you are well.
Dad has previously been escorted down to the platform at Ebbsfleet with his luggage before everyone else was allowed down to the platform, he asked for this on the day. They wouldn't do this at Marne la Vallee end so I think I will ask our travel agent to try and book this at the other end before we travel. Dad does have a blue badge so he can show that too. My son is autistic and not good with crowds all flowing towards him if that makes sense so hopefully they will let him down too.
I'm sorry to hear your son had an accident I hope he was ok.

Sooo Looking forward to our long overdue trip

Thank you for your help Cherry, we managed to book the assistance you mentioned. Our travel agent (coincidently is my sister lol) she spoke with Eurostar and got it all sorted.
Thank you again
Karen x
