Well I got the stitches out. My pcp is young and always rushed but I like her personality. She squats down with a dress on to take the stitches out. I said don't you want to sit in your chair?

The bottom is healed but not the top so it will be more steri strips, bandage changes and showers with the cast cover.

Also told me not to walk on it too much. She forgot to do the steri strips so we went back to the room, she couldn't find my pulmonary function test results but gave me the mammo script and the plastic surgery dept paper if I need that. We shall see.

Checking in with my non healing leg wound
ds3 changed it yest and of course it's bleeding again.
I have an appt with the plastic surgeon 2 days before the wedding. I looked the surgeon up. She seems young and inexperienced.They said she was the one who agreed to take my case, gheesh.

Health care at that hosp. seems to have taken a nose dive. Latest review of my pcp - some guy gave her 1 star and said it's like she just downed a six pack of Red Bull. Yup sadly I would agree.

Doctors just keep getting younger! lol. I went to an orthopedic surgeon for knee problems. The doctor walked in the door and I almost laughed. He looked like he should be out on a surf board instead of doing surgery. Funny. I told him that I must be getting old because the doctors look so young. He informed me that he was 35. Lord, my daughter is 30! I am getting old!

I can relate. Busy now figuring out Medicare supplement options, so giving up my age here. Not easy for this senior but I am giving my state department of insurance folks a run for their money asking questions. There is a lot to absorb if you want to make an informed choice of which plan and which insurance carrier. I think I am driving DH up the wall.

DH and I just returned from a week at carillion beach in the FL panhandle. We celebrated our 40 wedding anniversary and his retirement. How did the time go so fast?????

i am having d's change the steri strips tonight so he can get a true look at the wound.

we survived the rehearsal and dinner. Sadly her parents didn't show up. My heart breaks for fdil. But everyone enjoyed the dinner. We decided the moms will be seated ahead since I have mobility issues and it's apparent that her mom has severe anxiety if she even shows up.

ds2 and fdil closed on their house yest. They will move in slowly.

dh has a cold and is miserable. Perfect wedding timing lol. The weather forecast is 81 and cloudy so since its outside it sounds ok so far.

Great news - I had ds2 change the bandage and he took a picture and Sent it to his one friend a wound care specialist at the hospital. She said it looks great and should close in about 2 weeks so I cancelled the surgeon visit tomm.

loved looking at pics with my manly tuxedo penguins lol. Dh says he is sweating in it, ds2 says the shoes are snug and he feels like the bowtie is choking him.

my leg seems pretty healed - ptl!
Tues. I am going for my sonogram. Yup time for cancer to go to the front of my mind again, sigh.
the wedding was great. Beautiful bride and weather. Loved seeing family and friends. Food was good. The mom really has some issues. So sad for my dil.
took my cousins from Ohio on a little tour the next day. I stayed in the car a lot. It was so hot! Then the next day if you read on the boards the post about the little girl who died in the car.
the next weekend another cousin died from prostate and bladder cancer
ds2 and dil coming back from their 3 week Hawaiian honeymoon tomm
ds1 has a call back interview for a job next week. More money but an hour commute
ds3 says the house is too quiet lol
waiting to see when the washer repair guy is coming. - always something

How is everyone?
If you saw my other post we got a new washer. I think it's louder than our old one.

Got my sono and blood work done. Next week I see the endo.

Dh is off to Houston for 4 days. Ds3 says the icu is boring lol. Ds1 is waiting to hear from interviews.Getting tired of the best skies and rain here.

still don't know if we can get to Food and Wine. We shall see.

Sorry I'm still here...but don't get here too often. So glad for the good check up but sorry about the inhaler. Hope your DIL is doing better also. Snow? ACK! I swear we went from summer to winter here in Maryland and skipped over fall.

Did you make it to Food and Wine? We managed a short trip there last month...so good! Now we wait until November for our next trip!

So sorry to read this. Sending hugs to all the family.

As somebody who attended SIX funerals last year alone, 4 of them for family members (my mom, MIL, uncle and grand uncle) and 2 for parents of dear friends of mine, I totally understand that devastation.

All, I don't normally post on this thread but thought I'd stop by over the passing of one of our long-time DISers, PlutoPony. I don't think she had posted on this thread in a few years, however, she and I were fairly active here through the years and we lived in the same general area and our sons were the same age and had similar interests.

I lasted PM'd with her this past December 2018 and never got a response and didn't see much activity from her, so I was worried. I was cruising Facebook tonight to see if I could find some info on her through her son's page and I saw that she passed away in June. I feel so sad. I always wanted to meet her in person but that never happened. But we shared a lot about our sons and she told me all that she had been through with breast cancer. If memory serves me, she had a fairly small cancer that seemed no big deal but it was one that apparently had a knack for spreading and she ended up having it metastisize (sp?). She knew it was back one day when she was just walking and her femur broke. She was really so strong in the face of it all and I admired her strength and how she got through it. Anyway maybe some of you knew or were in touch with her but just in case not, I thought you may want to know.
