Different ticket types in group- park reservation question

If half the people in the room only reservation have AP and the other half have separate date based tickets, we just have to make park reservations for the AP holders and the regular ticket holders can just show up and scan in without a reservation right?

This the situation with my mom and me. Room-only and she'll have a date-based ticket. I have an AP so unfortunately, where we start our day comes down to where I had to make park reservations. I'll say it again, for those of us who don't have any option other than the incredi-pass and have no black-out dates, there should not have to be the requirement of park reservations! Ok, rant done.
