I found some of the new ideas very interesting... I know all these are just ideas and they are seeing what kind of interest out there... The Expedition Cruises sound adventurous LOL.
  • Arctic Expedition Cruise
  • Ireland by Luxury Overnight Train
  • Alaska Expedition Cruise
  • Galapagos Expedition Cruise
  • Family Camp-Upstate New York Summer
  • Airstream Resort at WDW
  • Greece and Croatia Small Ship Cruise
  • Short Escape to London
  • Alaska Small Ship Cruise
  • Mountain Lodge in Colorado
  • Glamping at National Park
  • South Pacific Small Ship Cruise-Tahiti and Bora Bora
  • Antarctica Expedition Cruise

I agree. The only one I didn't really get was the Airstream at WDW. It was described was a fishing vacation mixed with WDW.

It was a VERY long survey. That last few questions were getting to me. They kept mixing up the selections and making me choose which one I would choose. I've only been on 1 ABD.

I don't know if the moderator wants to just delete my thread, but I'll post my thoughts here:

Anyone else complete the very long and detailed ABD paid survey? I found it fascinating. ABD seems to be giving serious consideration to a number of future destinations and types of experiences. Many of which have been mentioned here on "wish list" threads. Not just destinations, but completely different type of experiences such as expedition cruises in specific locations, "glamping" trips, train trips, privately organized trips. They even suggested different possible price points for each trip. There were questions getting at whether price was the most important factor or things like food choices or lodging were. It was quite a long survey. I was surprised by some of the questions and destinations. With river cruises now being a standard offering, it seems ABD is giving serious consideration for what it's next evolutionary step is going to be. One possibility... Antarctica?

Also, I have to say on the last part where they were changing all the prices - I forgot to pay attention to the prices and was selecting solely based on destination. Whoops. I was getting tired!

Right. It was interesting. You would select your favorite trip between several options with prices. Then the question would refresh multiple times. Some of the trips would be different, but some of the trips would be the same with different prices. Antarctica had several prices.

I posted this in the other thread, but I got booted early after not thinking the Disney and Marriott hotels were nice enough, LOL.

I paid attention to the Antarctica prices because that trip is on DH’s bucket list. I remember the low for that one was $12,000 and the high was $16,000. I picked it at 12k, but chose something else (probably the short London trip) at 16k.

Ireland by Luxury Overnight train. .............. It would be a very slow train speedwise .

Cork to Dublin max 3 hours & Dublin to Belfast Max 3 hours

We do NOT have any Sleeper Carriages

Unless Disney wish to Buy &" Fit Out " sleeper carriages " & pay All staff on these trains .

One of the other suggestions was an ABD arranged private trip. They would handle the accomodations and more importantly transportation between cities. Make reservations. You’d meet up with an ABD guide at each city, but they wouldn’t be with you all the time. You’d have one included excursion daily and other a la carte options. Basically a way to increase independence and decrease the cost of the trip. Somewhat of a customized private trip at preselected destinations arranged by a concierge travel service.

We did a similar trip to Portugal last yr organized by a travel specialist. And we sort of did that in Botswana. So, I guess I’d consider it depending on the destination. Problem is, I’m guessing the specific destinations are predetermined to have the guides in place.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who felt the survey was looong! I was happy they included Croatia..something I've been hoping for for years :)

We received one but were unable to accomplish it; maybe they know we're currently unhappy with our ABD hotel room here in Reykjavik.

A Belmond train trip is high on my list. A close friend of mine works for the company. The level of service is exceptional and reminiscent of my favorite cruise company (Hebridean Princess).

Uh oh. That doesn’t sound good :( I hope the trip improves.

I didn't get one but I like a lot of it. Airstreams, Glamping and Family camps would not be areas of interest to me. The rest is very intriguing!

I got it and loved the length! Showed ABD was really tossing around a lot of awesome new ideas and concepts. We've put Antarctica in our suggestions box on every survey forever... it would be so cool to travel to all 7 continents with ABD!
