Monday 13th December
VERY cold again!!! We had breakfast in the Chalet de la Marionnette which was lovely as always and noticed that the park was thankfully much quieter today and, whereas yesterday there had been a huge percentage of French people, today there were a lot more English people so presumably all the locals visit at the weekends, which is something to bear in mind next December!!
First we went on Its a Small World which we got on almost straightaway. Some of the dolls were in their Christmas costumes!! We went to Belles village again to watch the show which was very nice with singing and dancing. Afterwards we wandered round and met Belle and the other characters. Then we queued up to meet the Beast in the flesh (fur),
which is a character you dont normally see around the parks.
Rhiannon was looking away after they took the photo and Beast bent down to give her a kiss and nearly frightened her to death very funny!!!!!
We went on Casey Junior, which was freezing!!! And then to the Fantasy Festival Theatre to see the Noël de Mickey show which was very colourful and festive!! Over to Adventureland to go on Pirates of the Caribbean, which we could almost walk straight on to today thankfully! We had lunch at Hakuna Matata and then headed for the benches outside Pizzeria Bella Notte to wait for the Christmas Parade which starts off there. There werent many people around there until right before the parade was due to start so we had a really good view and it was a really great parade.
We went into Pizzeria Bella Notte to warm ourselves up with hot drinks as we were frozen right through!! Then we summoned up all our courage to go outside again and wait on Central Plaza for the Enchanted Fairytale Ceremony. We got quite good spots near the front. The 4 princes come up Main Street on horseback
followed by the 4 princesses in a horse-drawn coach.
Then theres singing and dancing on the stage to One Mans Dream and the songs from the films of the 4 princesses Sleeping Beauty,
Cinderella,
Snow White
and Belle.
The song we grew to love most was Chante, cest Noël which is the parks main Christmas theme.
Its a really lovely show and at the end Tinkerbell appears on one of the highest turrets of the castle to sprinkle pixie dust over Central Plaza which lights up the enormous Christmas tree, the castle itself which looked absolutely beautiful and the Lights of Winter arches all along Main Street. It was a great show and almost made us forget how cold we were. I must confess that although most of these are my pictures a couple are from photosmagiques.
After that we went on Big Thunder Mountain where, as always, we screamed our way round its even scarier in the dark!! We went across to the Village and each bought a pair of over-knee socks to keep us warm!! Then we had drinks in Planet Hollywood and went to Annettes Diner for a meal where the portions are absolutely enormous but we managed it!!! This time there were rollerskating waiters and waitresses and some who got up on the counter and sang to Grease Lightning etc that was really good and of course we sang along loudly!!
Then back to the hotel to our lovely toasty-warm room and then to bed!!
