DCA is not for me.

Well Mr. Ridermatt, it is only your opinion that it is inappropriate or insulting for me to say that CA stinks. It is only your opinion that there is a difference between saying "I don't like" and "it stinks".

I personally believe that when people read "It stinks", they will infer that I don't like it.

Normally, I let people get away with stating their opinion as fact, because i'm smart enough to tell when someone is giving a fact or an opinion. However, if you are going to scold me, then you should start by following your own advice. I think, that next time, it would be more appropriate if you clearly label statements like "it is inappropriate", as your personal belief, and not a proven fact.

How do you like it?

There's so much to do there, and also lovely spots to not do anything.

The rides are fun, the food is good, the atmosphere great, it makes me proud to be a Californian (finally). I don't have much expendable income, so getting the 2 Park AP is what I consider a smart investment.

I find it odd that a small but very noisy majority of DCA-haters always seem to have to "make it personal", getting rabid about their hatred (and I'm not talking about just one person on just one board, I've run into about ten or so.) Most emotionally healthy, normal human beings either like it, or don't like it and don't let it ruin their emotional health.

To quote Jim Hill: "Sorry, but I like it!"

Fab,
You bring back the main point, before DCA Lovers made it personal by accusing me of stating fact as opinion.

You say DCA has great places to do nothing at all. This was my original point. I don't need to travel 1200+ miles and pay $250+ a day for my family of 5 to find great places to do nothing.

Maybe a local, with an AP, that loves atmosphere more than rides, likes DCA. However, DCA was not built for me. Why am I a DCA "Hater", just because it wasn't built for me?

I think it's appropriate to remind everyone that PERSONAL ATTACKS are not allowed on this site. It is fine to disagree but name-calling is not. Thank you! :)

Hubby and I went to DL last Thursday and Disney world last friday. We are DINKs if that really matters we also took hubby parents who are seniors. We spent a full day at DL and had a lot of fun on Tuesday but basically felt like we had done pretty much everything in the park by the end of the day (although we didn't do any rides twice). On Friday we went to DCA we had a blast we left at about 7 pm and we did very few of the educational type exhibits and didn't do Superstar Limo unlike DL I left wishing we had more time. We did ride Soarin twice and Screamin 3 times and have lunch at the Soap Opera Bistro (which was about $80 for 4 people not cheap but a better value to my way of thinking then for example the Morrocan Restaurnt in Epcot). Hubbys mom's favorite rides of the whole DL and DCA where Screamin and It's Tough to be a bug. So I do think DCA has some wide appeal.

Oh- one more note lines at DL on Tuesday never exceded 20 mintues except I think for space mountain and splash mountian where we got fast passes for an hour later. On the other hand DCA lines on friday were sometimes 45 mintues especially for Mailbommer and the Farris Wheel where there were no fastpasses. Would like them to fastpast those two. So we did waste more time in line at DCA.

I have never gotten personal about my dislike for DCA and I'm pretty sure no one else has either. I'd like to see proof of these personal attacks.I simply state my problem with DCA. In fact I have said in the past that DCA could be an outstanding theme park. At this time my opinion is that it is an incomplete park. Atmosphere and good shops only go so far. I could say the same about the Beverly Center. I think it has great atmosphere and most Angelinos know they have some of the best shops in town. So what seperates DCA from the Beverly Center other than a ride that valleys, a ride that is no longer operational and Soarin? My opinion is that I will wait until TOT, Armageddon the Ride, and RNR open up then I'll come back.

Here's a thread where everyone who liked DCA is supposed to gush about it....Only 2 people "gushed" and one complimentated the music hardly a positive backing...DCA Gushing
