If it's any consolation I know a grandfather who used to be like that.
Keyword being "used". Took a few death ray glares and the occasional utilisation of foul language but he is much better for the ordeal.

He’s only 35 so I have a feeling with a few more years (trying to put this nicely and not used the word training as he isnt a dog) ‘maturing’ he will be much better! Lets hope!!

I’m so glad!! Unfortunately DH leaves early for a work trip so the comic value fades but this particular story I will tell everyone he knows for years to come!
