We are going next week and wondering if DAS is active? Can we get a DAS after virtual que is full?
TIA

They did offer DAS access for the other Star Wars area attraction from the time it first opened. Guests first had to be part of a boarding party, which gave access to the area.
Once in the area, guests could request a DAS Return Time at/close to the attraction.
Although Fastpass was/is not available, the Fastpass Line was/is used for DAS and Rider Switch.

I have read on social media that the same process is being followed - once you are part of a boarding party and in the area, DAS Return Time can be requested and access will be thru the Fastpass line.

Which would suggest that the answer to the question in the OP is "No". You cannot get a DAS after the virtual queue is full (I'm assuming that this means that the queue was full before you got there, so you aren't in the queue/aren't in a boarding party).

The Virtual Queue assigns you a Boarding Group number to ride RoR. You'll need to be in a BG.

These first 3 days of operation the Virtual Queue had already been distributed for the day around 8am.
If you want to ride, a good plan is to be inside the park before 7am to be assigned a Boarding Group. Everyone in your party must be inside HS to join. Keep in mind that each day going forward in December will get busier so 7am is not an absolute guarantee.

When your BG number is called later in the day, you'll have 2 hours to get over to the ride. Once you have a BG, you can leave the park and return later when called if you need.

Honestly the current system is really not very friendly to those with disabilities. with the boarding group system you have to get into the park super early and wait in some crazy lines just to get in a boarding group. Making people who can’t wait in lines wait in line to get a boarding group is a problem. Everyone with a disability should be emailing disney about it being an issue.

There is no line to enter the Boarding Group, you do it from MDE app or have a cast member help assign you a BG number (look for "Guest Experience Team" which have plenty of CMs to assist guests). There is the line to get into the park though.

The line to get into the park is the problem. you need to scan in to get a boarding group. i can’t imagine a family with a child with autism getting there at 5am and waiting in that mess to get into the park. If you wait for the opening crowds to thin out you end up with a time in the later afternoon or evening which means you need to spend 8 or 9 hours in the park or leave the park which could be an issue for a lot of families as well. with the way the crowds are and now this system is it makes it impossible for some families to have a chance at experiencing the attraction.

This is just the procedure for the busy opening time period. The ride has a limited capacity and there will be plenty of families that will not be able to ride it, because it is busy. Having the first come, first served is fair and equitable. People with disabilities should have the same chance to get on the ride as anyone else, not better. Your disappointment is no greater then anyone else's that are not able to get on the ride.

According to the survey people they are considering keeping this for a while. This isn’t my problem personally i got into a boarding group on opening day and went on the attraction. I also saw a young boy in a wheelchair having a melt down yesterday because he wasn’t able to ride it. I don’t see how that family would have an equal chance at getting into a boarding group how are they supposed to manage that crowd in the morning to get into the park before opening? i don’t see that as fair and equitable.

What about the crowds in the Star Wars Galaxy's Edge land area? Or the crowds in rest of the park. You are going to one of the busiest tourist places on the planet, there will be crowds everywhere. It is a hassle for everyone, people with all kinds of issues need to do what is best for themselves. And automatically giving someone with any kind of disability or medical issue access to a ride with limited capacity goes well above and beyond what the ADA calls for. I am sure that there were plenty of young children that were disappointed in not being able to ride. Disabled people are not the only ones with feelings.

What do you miss if you use DAS ?? Should I try to go a second time after escorting my father with a DIS return??

I think they should have shuttles that start earlier in the day!

Sounds harsh but true. It hasn’t been easy for anybody yet. Many people haven’t been able to get a BG yet, tens of thousands guest currently in WDW. A new crazy demand ride takes a while to settle down.
People will figure out how to manage, give it some time.

Navigating crowds is one thing and can be managed and you have alternatives to deal with it. This is a first come first served situation it’s no different than a line that many families can’t wait in. No one is saying that anyone with a disability should get automatic access to the attraction but this system is not friendly to those with disabilities at all. Everyone who goes through the turnstile can get a boarding group those who can not stand for long periods of time or handle the opening crowds are at a significant disadvantage at getting through that turnstile.

It will get better as time goes on.
According to other threads the park opened at 6:30 this morning.
Boarding groups lasted until 8:50.
So it’s possible to get into the park without a long line, get your boarding group ( everyone in the group has to be there) for later in the day. You can leave Hollywood Studios and do another park or go back to your hotel.
Rise of the Resistance is still having multiple down times per day so if the guest with the DAS has problems with seeing the ride and not being able to get on it they may want to wait a few more weeks until the problems are worked out.

While I agree that those who can’t handle opening crowds (I am one of them) are at a disadvantage, being able to have special access wouldn’t be an advantage to me. That entire area is going to be super crowded and anyone who needs to avoid the crowds needs to avoid the entire area until things settle down. I wouldn’t even attempt going there. I think Disney goes above what is required by ADA to assist those of us with disabilities. I often wonder how all these people especially those with sensory issues are able to ride all the rides and be in the parks all day long. Just entering Disney on a normal day is sensory overload. Believe it or not, it is often this way for people without disabilities. Disney can be exhausting for anyone not just those of us with disabilities.
As far as mobility/standing issues there is a solution for that - you can always utilize a wheelchair.

It's too early to make judgement yet. The expectation for a World Class ride opening during the first week is that it will be bonkers and only the most dedicated will gain access. Plenty of people made the choice to wait for it to simmer down a notch before attempting. I wouldn't stress about it just yet, especially if you're not going for a while. See how it plays out, hopefully your concerns are addressed.

I know exactly what you are saying. I just don't agree with it. You feel that just because someone has a disability/medical issue, etc, that they should be immune to the hustle and bustle of the crowds, arrive at their leisure, and still be able to get on the ride. To you that is "fair". Or even somehow owed to people with other needs. The reality is that there are going to be thousands of people, both able bodied and disabled, that are not going to be able to ride in the beginning. But you feel that just because someone is not able bodied, that they should be exempt from the first come, first served because it may be more of a hassle for them. Most people have some kind of medical/mental issues and if all them them were to be given priority, there would be very few spots left over for the rest of the people. Life is not fair, it never was and it probably never will be. We all do what we can to make our lives as good as they can be. And in reality, anyone that can go on a WDW vacation is already in a better place then most of the world.
