Before you waste your time and money, Crews Cup at Yacht/Beach, worst service! Was there Friday night, as always, very crowded. It was pouring outside, probably reason for crowd. It took about 30 minutes to get a booth for four, not their fault. Server walked over to us four times, stating I’ll be right back to clear ur table. Finally cleared, stated I’ll be back to wipe down table. Never came back, no menus. I finally flagged down a leader who was very very attentive, took our order, cleaned table. Leader disappears. My order was wrong when it arrived and my friend had to ask a third person for wine she ordered. Been there before, service was ok. I think I’ll find a new lounge (could also see first server’s tattoos on her wrist).

I’m sorry you had that experience. For what it’s worth, I was there the week prior on a Sat night and had a terrific experience - both food and service. Generally, it’s a quieter place and I think they staff accordingly and run into trouble when weather or other circumstances drive higher than expected volume. They should have a plan for this, of course, not excusing what sounds like a really off night ... but in my experience that isn’t typical there.

Friday night the skies opened up, complete w tornado warnings in the area. Sounds like they were understaffed for the crowd they ended up with

Is there a Disney rule about tattoos?

Tattoos are supposed to be completely covered.

I find this rule surprising. I can understand no tattoos for performers, but beyond that it seems like an unnecessary rule to me.

That said, maybe some staff were called in to cover the unexpected rush and a manager decided a visible tattoo is preferable to being even more short staffed?

For what it is worth, the ladies in our school cafeteria (NC) have to completely cover their tattoos. They told me it is a health code rule. Perhaps it is the same in FL.

Unless it is brand new where it's still scabbed, that makes no sense to be a health code rule.

As far as Disney, it is a Disney-look rule. ANY position is not supposed to have visible tattoos - which is why sometimes you see CMs with flesh-colored sleeves on or wraps similar to bandages. They also get very adept at using pancake theater make-up to cover them.

Had similar at AKL's lounge (what's it called) and Tambu lounge at Poly and the Wave lounge once...all during unseasonably cold weather and everything indoors was crowded. Had similar service at Sanaa lounge when weather was perfectly nice and it was like 12;30pm...and we were party of 2 and only 1 other guy at bar. Bartender just wasn't hustling or doing anything much really.

huh, interesting. Thanks for adding :) We don't have these sorts of rules where I'm from, and it's very common to see servers with tattoos here. But I have no idea what the rules are like in Florida

Given the weather, I would NOT let this one occasion color your views on this place. Any place can get absolutely slammed.

Nothing to do with health code in reality. Obviously the people who set the rules are just against tattoos and are making things up to get them covered up.

    Agreed.

Most everything at Disney is considered a "show", thus the Cast Members are considered "actors". As such, Disney can dictate what they want their "actors" to look like. ...Or something along these lines.

if they are serving booze in the MK I would not be surprised if they are maybe not choosing to hassle someone if a tattoo peeks out from underneath their sleeve, especially if they are unexpectedly slammed. Under typical circumstances they may have been asked to cover it up better but perhaps not with the situation you're describing. Maybe someday this rule will go away all together.

I hope the rules stay. I am not against tattoos, but it is nice having a clean cm look everywhere.

Tattoos don't bother me in the least. We've had hit or (very) miss service at Crew's Cup. Often understaffed for the crowd.

    Rainy nights and crowds.

I have to ask, did seeing part of a tattoo really play a part in having a horrible night? I mean, are people still bothered by this in 2018?

Disney will have to loosen up on that rule eventually, tattoos are now as common as ear piercing.

I wouldn't even notice a tattoo, unless it was a face tattoo, which are fairly uncommon. And no, most people are not bothered by tattoos. Poor service, cold food, yeah, I notice those things. But never complained about service or food because of a tattoo.

What if the tattoos were Disney themed?
