CRAZY DIS ASIANS! A Sept 2018 TR...COMPLETED 6/1 The last day!!

It looks like roast beef sushi with some white sauce and pickled jalapenos. It did not look appetizing at all. It was not what I expected and it looked really sad. So this was the worst thing that I ate at food and wine.

Thank you for saving me from ever eating this if they have it next year!

I did some very embarrassing things trying to get on and off on a float tube.

Been there. Done that.

Our first official DVC stay there is not until next January so we are looking forward to really be welcomed home!

How exciting! So all these other stays have been in regular rooms on cash?

Our salad followed and sorry it was slightly mauled by Steve before I got a picture:

I love that salad, and I never say that about a salad!

Omg I'm so hungry now thinking of this meal, just a few more months before we're back in January!

I need to put that on the list for October!

Either way, still happy we got to see the show, I love it so much even to brave the rain for it and everyone knows that I hate being wet, yuck.

OK, HEA goes on the list for March!

Does Disneyland do stuff like this for their AP holders?

I don't think so. There are over a million and many live locally. They do give us free buttons that say "AP".

HAha me too! See me milking my 10 dollar bucket of popcorn? Now that refills are 2 bucks though...ouch!

I just don't care that much for popcorn, and Fran isn't supposed to eat it.

LOL you're right. I have two going on and both of them are about Food and Wine - just a year apart. :) Interesting to see the contrast though.

And I did it again, "What Halloween again, I thought MK had transformed overnight to Christmas?" :confused3 :rotfl2:

LOL I'm happy to inspire your calendar of meals.

Well, I have to put that one on hold. Fran has requested that our next meal "out" be Fish & Chips. I told her, "Sorry, it's going to be Napa Rose, but the one after we can have Fish & Chips."

Yeah really great prices - I feel bad for the UPS guy lugging my 20lb bag of sea salts but it's so much cheaper than buying a bunch of smaller bags.

I don't feel bad, did you see my post a few weeks back, our UPS guy is lugging 28lb boxes of cat litter to the front door!

I take baths almost every day.

:sad2: I used to, until we started having a drought.

Lush is even more expensive!

I can imagine! Bathing in wine and drinking it could really add up!

More than a year out so someone should cancel, right?

Certainly a possibility. I know when we got within six months of our cruise, people started dropping like flies.

Lucky! I can't wait until I am at least Gold.

This was our first booking while Platinum, I can't wait for my free dinner at Palo.

Eeeek you can't waste alcohol!! Especially 9 bucks of it!

If you didn't say it, I was gonna. I have an instance of that in my next update!

Well, at least it's not closing for good....

It's an excellent spot. We just recently discovered it and we watched Hallowishes and regular HEA from there. Not even sure the dessert party is worth it anymore as the few is pretty much the same. But of course the desserts are delightful.

I'll make sure to keep that spot in mind!!

Day 3 Part 1: A Jammin' Bon Voyage Breakfast

Can't believe it was already day 3, soon our trip will be halfway done, my goodness! Like most of you, I never want Disney trips to end. Although I would like an end to the heat and rain!

My sister and I woke up early today because we had an 8am Bon Voyage Breakfast. So thankful the Boardwalk was right next door because it was definitely an early morning! Steve didn't want to join us and said this breakfast was really just for us girls, so he headed out at the same time to head to DHS. We'd meet up with Steve later to do our FP at DHS.

My sister and I on our very short walk to the Boardwalk:

I even had time to record some vlog!

So I said in the video that my sister had a Tangled-inspired dress, but it is actually a Snow White print, with all the forest animals and apples. It just happened to come in purple so I thought it was Rapunzel themed, but on closer inspection it was not. Well close enough as they both live in foresty areas!

Someone was kind enough to take this picture of us in front of Trattoria Al Forno:

Now I would like to have this person follow us around as our personal photographer because she made us look so tall and slender! LOL. Whenever Steve takes our picture we automatically gain 10lbs. :crazy2:

We went inside and checked in and had a short wait. While waiting, my sister tried on this Pascal plushie that actually wraps around your bag strap so it looks like he's on your shoulder! So cute. Also you can check out the full print on my sister's dress.

We were led to our table which was just inside to the entrance to the dining area.

Ready for our adventure!

Our server took our orders and we were brought glasses of juice and coffee for me and tea for my sister. (She is a non coffee drinker unless it's like a PSL or something really sweet.) Also our lovely frying pan of pastries came with our drinks.

So my sister and I split the chocolate crueller thing, and it was divine. I have a sneaky feeling this is the same chocolate croissant thing that is the base for the Cheshire Cat Tail in MK. It was really yummy and flake-y and chocolate-y.

So my sister got the little clamshell thing which is pretty much a pastry with jam. I didn't want any so she got the whole thing. She took two bites and said, "I need some jam" and I replied, "But it's filled with jam!" to which she looked at me like I had 3 heads and exclaimed "This isn't enough jam, I need MORE jam!"

So she flagged down our server and he brought her a little cup of jam which she smothered on her already jam-filled pastry. "This is really good!" she finally proclaimed. :rotfl:

An announcement to all: Chunkysis really LOVES jam.

That is all.

We also got little bowls of fruit. I thought this meal to come with either a yogurt parfait or fruit but we only saw fruit on the menu (even though it seems like it's still on the online menu). It was nothing special, just your standard melon filled fruit salad but with the addition of a few berries.

We split the other pastries but I didn't really eat that much more other than the chocolate croissant thing because that is the best.
Also, I had a pretty sweet entree coming!

I had the:

Tower of Pancakes with Strawberry compote (on the side) and bacon.

This was very yummy. I don't normally go for sweet breakfasts but the perfectly even and fluffy pancakes are balanced out nicely with the bacon. I liked the sauce on the side so that it wouldn't overpower the dish. I offered up my compote to my sister but I think she was perfectly OK with her cup of jam.

My sister got a savory breakfast to counteract all her jam:

Tangled Eggs: Fresh Mozzarella, Tomato-Basil Eggs, Sunday Gravy, and Breakfast Potatoes with Bacon.

She really loved this and I do admit her dish looks really great. I had some of it and it was perfectly cooked. I think if we go back here I will definitely get this dish.

We were so into our food, that we did not notice Flynn Rider aka Eugene, who stealthy slid into the space next to me and was peering at my food. Hahaha. We had such a good laugh since he caught us by surprise. My sister is usually on top of when characters are coming that she will warn us before or we'll notice her fixing her hair or something, so she totally wasn't expecting him. :rotfl:

We got our pics with him and I also asked to peek inside his satchel. :littleangel:

Apparently he also said something really endearing to me to cause my reaction. I cannot remember, LOL. I know that now there has been stories of Flynn Rider not appearing at every Bon Voyage breakfast and he is replaced by some other character. It's too bad because he's so charismatic. I guess we got lucky we had all the "regular" characters and none of them were replaced!

The other cast of characters came along, and Prince Eric almost looks stiff next to Flynn Rider, but he was the perfect gentleman.

Oh and when posing with Ariel one must hold a Dinglehopper. My sister did not get the memo!

Overall, we really loved Bon Voyage breakfast. My sister got her share of jam and characters, and I ate too much and got to peek into Flynn's satchel. :)

Since we were so close to Beach Club we decided to head back to our room to change so that I wouldn't have to keep sucking in my pancake-filled gut for pictures and my sister could wear her other Toy Story dress.

Coming up, more Slinky Dog, lunch at Mama Melrose, and MNSSHP!

I do always want to be those people floating around with drinks in there hands just floating along... Although I assume Disney doesn't allow drinks in the pool.

The water park in Legoland has one of the best lazy rivers. There's a super shallow area to get in so you can just sit down on the float. And half the time you're going through a quiet area with just vegetation on both sides. The only thing it was missing was a fruity drink. It made me seriously consider a trip to Vegas just to get the full experience. You know all of their lazy rivers must allow it.

Oh no! Who are they replacing him with? Good thing we already had a fantastic Flynn on our Magic cruise.

That's a great Ariel too.

It's funny Steve called it a girl's breakfast. The main reason we're going to it is because my husband wants that steak! Oak-grilled Steak, Cheesy-Egg Torte, and Fonduta with Breakfast Potatoes and crispy Onions

We have now done this character meal twice. We thought the food was very good as well as the character interaction. We were fortunate to have all the original characters too...

Finally catching up on my favorite TR's. What a great trip so far!!! This is the week we usually go but our trips have moved to February as my daughter does middle school cheer. Will be there an cheer nationals again (as long as they get a bid! Hope so cause trip is already planned - LOL).

The Bon Voyage breakfast looks wonderful. I have read only good things about it. I really should try to get there on my next trip. Definitely something my girls would enjoy - but who am I kidding? So would I!

Like most of you, I never want Disney trips to end

::yes::

Steve didn't want to join us and said this breakfast was really just for us girls

Nice one Steve. Gotta remember that.

Gorgeous shot of you guys! :)

Someone was kind enough to take this picture of us in front of Trattoria Al Forno:

You have a stalker. Just sayin'.

Now I would like to have this person follow us around as our personal photographer because she made us look so tall and slender! LOL.

If you pay my way, I'll be happy to do it. I do Photoshop. I'll make you as tall and skinny as you want.

my sister tried on this Pascal plushie that actually wraps around your bag strap so it looks like he's on your shoulder! So cute.

Cool!

(She is a non coffee drinker unless it's like a PSL or something really sweet.)

What is PSL?

She took two bites and said, "I need some jam" and I replied, "But it's filled with jam!" to which she looked at me like I had 3 heads and exclaimed "This isn't enough jam, I need MORE jam!"

:lmao:

An announcement to all: Chunkysis really LOVES jam.

That is all.

That looks really good.... and like a ton of pancakes!

My sister got a savory breakfast to counteract all her jam:

We were so into our food, that we did not notice Flynn Rider aka Eugene, who stealthy slid into the space next to me and was peering at my food. Hahaha.

 Did you jump?

No way! I love that!

Oh and when posing with Ariel one must hold a Dinglehopper.

::yes::

Since we were so close to Beach Club we decided to head back to our room to change so that I wouldn't have to keep sucking in my pancake-filled gut for pictures and my sister could wear her other Toy Story dress.

Nah. I'm sure you were both beautiful and no gut sucking was required.

The Tangled Eggs look fantastic! Was the Sunday Gravy like a marinara sauce?

Your character pics are adorable! You two don't take a bad picture.

Ohana always looks SO GOOD. We aren't going there on this next trip, but I'm pretty sure we may need to make it happen on our next trip. One of my kids is basically a vegetarian but they both would eat all of the dumplings and noodles they could possibly get their hands on so I'm pretty sure they'd enjoy it :)

I also love the character interactions I've seen at Bon Voyage! I think we need to add that to the list for a future trip too...

I really enjoyed reading about your Tangled breakfast.

Wow! That really was a tower of pancakes. I tend to prefer savory foods for breakfast, so I would have ordered the eggs. They looked really good.

Love your pictures with the characters!

:goodvibes
