For Christmas dinner I served:
3 appetizers- 2 kinds of shrimp-one hot, one cold; dip with tortilla chips
ham
meatballs in gravy
tortellini is sauce with ground meat and pork sausage
potato casserole
carrots with pineapple
fruit salad with marshmallows and pistachio pudding
Pillsbury rolls
relish tray- pickles, green onions
cookie tray for dessert

The tortellini was a new recipe and everyone loved it.
The carrots were hardly touched. I won't make them again.

What vegetable do you serve with a ham dinner? They didn't like the classic green bean with mushroom soup casserole last year either.

Please help. What will your family eat?

We had 15 people for Christmas Day. Here's our menu.

cheeseball and crackers
shrimp cocktail
relish tray (pickles, olives, peppers, etc.)
vegetables and dip

Prime rib (14.75 lbs)
twiced baked potato casserole
buttered corn
broccoli florets
Betty's salad
yeast rolls

apple pie
pumpkin pie
chocolate chip cake
cookies
marshmallow salad (ambrosia)

This is about the 8th year in a row we have had prime rib. We need to mix it up! I'm trying to convince the family to go to Disney next Christmas.

We find that mac and cheese goes great with ham. They also eat it up. I use a recipe that I find online and make it homemade. The recipe varies, but they do eat it.

Trying again:

Anyone have a good vegetable recipe that your family loves?

Serving it with ham.

I like to do glazed carrots with ham sometimes. You can use fresh baby carrots or frozen sliced carrots (if you have the time, you can slice fresh carrots). The baby carrots look the nicest.
Kids are usually pretty receptive to them.
I don't have a favorite recipe, usually I just google it when I want to cook them.

My family loves the scalloped cabbage recipe from Pioneer Woman. It's incredibly unhealthy, and very rich, but we love it.
