Celebrity DVC Members

Richyams
You always have a way to get a chuckle out of the situation, and you're right, Mickey Mouse is a celebrity. Probably the biggest one mentioned yet!!
My celebrity encounter was with the late Robert Urich (Spenser for Hire). We were sitting in Country Bear Jamboree and he and his wife and a young child set down right in front of us. Found out later that his wife was an actress as well. She was one of the Von Trapp children in The Sound of Music movie. This was in Dec. 2000.
After CBJ was over they just walked out into the park and seemed to mingle right in with everybody else. He seemed to be a very humble and genuine kind of person.

Hi all, We were staying at Beach Club / Christmas 1998 and we saw Brian Dennaghy (hope I spelled it correctly!) in the lobby. He was calling his son (I believe) Sean who was running around having a great time! They were just hanging out in the lobby!!! I just smiled at him because I didn't want to be a pain in the neck. We also saw Christopher Lowell (Discovery Channel) hanging around the lobby of the GF and Eric Snow (NBA) & family at Animal Kingdom. It's fun to see famous people but I would never approach them because I believe they are entitled to vacation time without the hassles. Wonder who we'll spot next!!!!!;)

Drats, beaten by Gopher

I think I had the NHL coach by a hair, but to lose to Gopher is just demoralizing.

I had such a crush on him when I was a teenager.

I've bumped into Michael Eisner (and entourage) at Epcot, Michael J. Fox (and family) at MGM, and a few others that I can't quite remember right now.

Who knows, one day, maybe...I will meet Richyams.

I saw Roy Disney at Epcot at Innoventions when it opened. He was checking it out, and making suggestions to all the minions who were escourting him around. I saw Michael Eisner and his wife at Bali Hai at Poly many years ago. they had a first floor suite and were having a party with two other couples, the guy who died in a plane crash and the guy that got booted out later. We were sitting right in front of their suite on the dock, watching the fireworks, and they came out, drinks in hand, to watch them too.

I saw Michael Jackson at BC when it opened. They rented out an entire floor, except for a couple of rooms. We had one of those rooms, and every time we opened the door, his security people snapped to attention and glared at us like we were international spies, or something. They escourted us to the elevators whenever we left, if we didn't take the stairs.

We saw LeAnn Rimes at BC too. It was just before she hit it big, and she did a show that they taped right on the beach. She had a room facing all the activities on the first floor, and she walked back and forth across the grass every time they needed her for taping. We watched from our room on the second floor, but I had no idea who she was.

We saw Aaron Carter filming one of his concerts for the Christmas parade....my son was thrilled! We got up close and were in a crowd scene.

We saw Barry Bonds walking through the Magic Kingdom with a huge entourage.

My cousin saw Connie Stevens in MGM a few years ago.

We saw Ricki Lake at the AK at the Festival of the Lion King. People actually had to get up and more seats for her so that she could be in the 1st row! She was chosen to make one of the animal noises. We have also seen some guy who my husband insists was a pro wrestler (I am clueless).

Oh, that reminds me. We bumped into Perry Saturn (former WWF wrestler) at the Waffle House before heading into WDW. Does that count? :p

Several years ago saw John Travolta and his family by Jungle Cruise.

Years ago, a friend was staying in a suite at the Grand Floridian when he met Roy Disney in the hallway. Roy Disney invited he and his family out to breakfast. Some people have all the luck.

A few years ago, we saw David Copperfield in the Animal Kingdom.

I've posted this before on other boards, but never on the DVC board. I don't post here often, but thought this would fit here since it has a kinda DVC twist. We saw Princess Diana and her sons. This was almost exactly a year before she died. They were at the MK the same day we were and we kept bumping into them all day. Well "bumping into them" is totally wrong because they had a huge amount of body guards, etc with them. We also had an almost close encounter with them at the GF when we had gone there to eat. We were told by the CMS that they were staying there and had a whole floor. Well, my kids were just star struck thinking that royalty liked Disney as much as us!! Well, sadly a year later we were at the GF again having dinner and my daughter and I were talking about Princess Diana and how we had seen her and her sons, etc. Almost as soon as we got back home to OKW my son ran into our bedroom and said that he heard on tv that Princess Diana had been in an accident that night and she had died. We were all so sad. I realize that this is not really a story about DVC celebrities, but it just goes to show that all kinds of people, even real life Princess and Princes love Disney. Everyone needs some "magic" in their lives and I'm glad that Diana's sons have memories of their mother enjoying being with them and doing "normal" things like going to Disney.

Well, here I am thinking I have a really good one, when DisneyMim posts about Princess Diana! Talk about being upstaged...

We stayed two doors down from Sigourney Weaver and her daughter a few years back in the Poly concierge. I happened to notice the room chart on one of the cleaning carts, and one room said "VIP" on it. I was intrigued, and next morning while we were having breakfast, in she walks. Everybody was very respectful and let them eat in peace. They were escorted from the lounge by a CM. We saw her again a couple of times coming and going from the hotel. My brother (a huge Alien/Aliens/etc fan, and a CM himself) was quite jealous.

Pat Sajak walked right past us at BWV one night in Sept 2000 (he is SHORT!) and we saw Neil Patrick Harris many years ago when he was still on Doogy Houser MD.

I forgot one other encounter...Back in 1987 we saw Michael Jackson at the Magic Kingdom. He was still fairly normal looking back then. I was 17 and my brother was 11. He was riding Dumbo and they put MJ on his Dumbo! My brother freaked! Back then he was into break dancing big time so he was thrilled!
