Canadian Buffoon's Semi-EPIC Vacation - 10/29 - Link to new TR!

I'm sad to admit that this is my first time reading a trip report
Hi! :welcome: to the TR!
Your very first! And you chose mine!
I'm very flattered! :goodvibes
but I'm glad I took the time to read this one, it was highly entertaining.
Thank you! :)
I'm about to make some coffee and move on to "Chapter 2".
Yeah, you'll need some coffee
for that one. It's a bit on the
"longish" side. :rolleyes1
My husband is from Calgary
Well, howdy neighbor!

(See how I used "howdy"?
him being basically a cowboy

and all. ;))
(just recently married).
Congratulations!
We're currently working on the visa process to bring him to the States
Can you tell me a bit about that?
I'm interested as someone else
recently said that it was quite
the process.

Will he have dual citizenship?
and I'm planning a trip to WDW in late 2020 as a "thank you for moving so that I didn't have to move" gift.
Pretty good gift! :)
(I would have moved, I love Calgary. But I also love SoCal).
Slightly warmer in winter.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading a trip report from a Canadian. And as someone who has traveled to and around Canada many, many times, I really appreciated all of the references.
:) Glad you liked it.
Oh, and my husband a WestJet flight attendant for 10 years and we have many friends who still are FAs for WestJet, so I also enjoyed all of the flight details.
Oh! Then there's a chance
that I've already met him!

Thanks for sharing your trip with us and for opening my eyes to the fun had in the "Trip Reports" section. :)
You're welcome!
Come back and comment
some more if you feel

so inclined. :)

No sleep necessary at Disney!
Isn't that weird?
You go without sleep,
because sleep isn't necessary...
But there's no sleep

like a Disney sleep!
The bus loops are the worst
::yes::
Until you figure out
how to take advantage
of them. ;)
I like this one!
Thanks! :)
What is wrong with some people? So entitled!
:sad2:
Less than impressed.
Poor thing!
Everyone felt badly for her.
Me, me! Love ToT!
:laughign
ToT… you either love it,
or hate it.
I don't think there's any

in between on that one.
I don't wait more than 20 minutes for anything so I am impressed by your fortitude.
Well... I left it up to her.
She wanted to ride it, so...
In line, we got.
I love those posters.
::yes::
I had that lunch in March and really enjoyed it too. :)
I had a bite... it was good!
And??? What was your verdict?
It really didn't taste any differently
than any other ice cream sammie
that I've had...
But!
It was Mickey shaped (which makes
everything better) and it was hot

as hades (which makes ice cream better.)

The O Is Silent

We made the long(ish) trek
from DHS back over to the
bus stops.
I do like the look of the new
bus stops, but they do seem
a little on the far side.

Far side....
Great comic.

far%20side%20cat%20pirhana_zpsoadms1d5.jpg

I noticed the gondolas were moving,
but still covered at this point.
Gonna make getting around just that
much easier in the near future.

We arrived at the AK bus stop
at 1:03pm, and only had a moderate
wait (1:20pm) for the next bus.
I really need to charge that VIP
bus pass tonight, though!

At 1:40pm, we were waltzing
through bag check and breezing
past the tapstiles.

DSC07268_zpshkqjusvd.jpg

One fish, two fish.
Three fish (swallow),
no fish.

I asked Elle to pose in the classic
"right in front of the Tree of Life" location.
But we had to wait as there were
several others with the same thought.

When it was almost our turn,
I started to get impatient with
this one woman who wouldn't move
out of the way quickly enough.
I told her to move, she told me
what to do.
I don't respond well to that.
I spun and hit her squarely
with a spinning back kick and
hit her so hard she flipped
right out of her wheelchair.

We then were able to get our photo
undisturbed and unencumbered.

DSC07269_zpshxuwom9b.jpg

Okay, okay.
That didn't happen.
I don't know karate
so didn't hit her with a
spinning back kick.

I hit her with my tripod.

Okay! Okay!
I didn't bring my tripod, either.

After the photo and fisticuffs,
it was time for a little snack.
We stepped around some minor
commotion that was going on
behind us.
(Something to do with EMT's and
some lady on the ground. Whatever.
Things to do. Places to see.)

I stopped and snapped this for
@Steppesister as I know she likes
her lights. I liked the birds holding
them up.

DSC07270_zpssxasqgtg.jpg

"We don't mind holding 'em but what a headache!"

As we made our way over
to grab our snack, we stumbled
across Kevin, strolling about.

DSC07272_zps9tyylhyq.jpg

DSC07273_zpsuqulpgxy.jpg

DSC07276_zpsdr5cul4p.jpg

I was very impressed with her
ability to move her head
and open and close her mouth.
Quite realistic!
She seemed to greatly enjoy
the kids petting her as much
as the kids enjoyed petting her.

I must've been channeling
Liesa today.
Our snack was from Eight Spoons,
the Baked Macaroni & Cheese with
Shrimp and Sweet Chili Sauce.

IMG_1738_zpspazgecb2.jpg

I'd read about this... more than once
on Liesa's TR.
Holy cow was that good!
It didn't last long.
And that was a problem...

As we sat in the shade for a moment,
we saw Dug and his handler heading
our way.
Now I knew that Dug was leaving
for a well-deserved break,
(It was hot!) so didn't want
to disturb him.
But Dug is a pup of his own mind.
He came over to sniff and see if
he might be able to beg a little treat.
He came over to our table and
sniffed at the empty plate.
"Sorry, Dug." I said. "All gone."
Poor puppers. He wandered off
disconsolably, looking for more
food, I presume.

Okay!
Now that we have a bit of
food in our tummies,
it was time to do the one
thing that people flock
to Animal Kingdom for!
That's right!
It was time for...

ITTBAB!!!!!!

What?
You don't go there for that?
What is wrong with you???

Oh, alright.
Of course I'm kidding, but...
there is a back story here.
When Elle last went to Disney,
I heeded the UoG's advice
and skipped this attraction.
She was 12 at the time and
probably would've been fine,
but Kay (my younger DD)
was only 8, and I was more
worried about her.

We had about an hour to kill
before our first FP, and the next
show was starting in just
a few minutes, so...
It was time to see it.

Besides, it's almost worth
going, just for the queue alone.

DSC07277_zpspseyisxh.jpg

DSC07279_zpshauo499i.jpg

Once we were inside the anthill,
we had time to look around.
Elle spotted the posters
that are scattered about and I
dutifully took some quick snaps.

IMG_1739_zpse5ftybv1.jpg

IMG_1740_zps4wudmpyo.jpg

Soon it was time to go in
and we took our seats.
Elle turned to me.
"This is the one that pokes
you in the back, right?"
I told her not to worry,
that it didn't hurt...

Much.

We enjoyed the show.
Which cannot be said for
everyone in the audience.
The UoG was right.
There were kids screaming
and crying all over the place!

In the end, the poke was more
funny than painful for both of us.
(See what I did there?)
And Elle was surprised by the
bugs "leaving" the theatre
and laughed about it later.

Bug selfie!

IMG_1741_zps5glbwuzf.jpg

We sashayed over towards EE,
but still had 20 minutes to kill.
We found a comfy spot on the
side of the path and sat and
people watched for a while.

DSC07283_zpsmutyuql0.jpg

At 3:00pm on the dot,
we entered the FP queue.
(I now know (thanks @franandaj)
that I could've gotten in a bit
earlier. Ah well.)

420989177_zpswueguocg.jpg

Do we look like we're having fun?
We turned right back around
and were in the single rider line
at 3:14pm and on the train
three minutes after that!

While we were split up this time,
we still had fun the second time around.

Time to make our way over to our next FP.
We were walking along when suddenly
a flock of parrots flew right by us.
They were promoting the Up! Bird Adventure
show and had just released them.
I asked Elle if she'd seen them.
Ha Ha. Of course she did! How could
you possibly miss them?
Instead of answering me, she took
off on a tangent and approached
a little boy of about 4 or 5 who
was crying while his mom tried
to pull him along to wherever they
were headed next.

What was she doing?
I was mystified.
She quickly stooped, picked up a small
Hot Wheels car and handed it
to the little boy, who immediately
stopped crying.
Poor kid had just wanted to get
his car back that he'd dropped.

So, no. She didn't see the parrots.
She was too busy watching the scene
unfold in front of her and saving the day.

She's going to make a great teacher.
She's always watching out for the little ones.

Continued From Previous Post

Once again we arrived at our next FP
about 20 minutes too early.
I didn't mind this time either.
While last time we sat and relaxed,
this time we were in Pandora and
she had never been.
We took the opportunity to explore
a little while we waited.

DSC07289_zpsnrxfkhtk.jpg

DSC07293_zpsi4lljsj5.jpg

Just so you know,
I'm starting a movement.
(No! I'm not talking about
cross border issues!!!!)

What I am trying to start
is that everyone refer to
Pandora as "Pandra".
I've decided the "O" is silent.
(Rhymes with Sandra)
Besides, you can say it much
more quickly.
Try it.
Pan-d'oh-Rah.... horrid.
Pandra. Much better.

We entered the FoP FP queue
exactly at 4:00pm and marched
smartly to the front of the line.
Within a couple of minutes,
we were being deloused alongside
our fellow riders.

Once we were safely mounted on
our respective simulated Ikrans,
the woman beside Elle says:
"Yeah. No."
A CM came and released her
and she left.

The wait time at that point
was 110 minutes.

I still wonder if she waited
110 minutes just to walk away.

We both had a blast, of course.

It was a little after 4:30pm and we
had 30 minutes before our next FP.
We left Pandra by the shortcut to Africa.
We passed by FotLK and I asked a CM
when the next show was.
Right away, you say?
I looked at Elle and she nodded enthusiastically.

And... just what we needed!
Seats!
Air conditioning!
Oh, and there was some kinda show, too.

A few lackluster shots from what is possibly
one of the best shows on property.

DSC07320_zpsjdzjqxma.jpg

Poor Timon.
Obviously didn't feel so great
after his turn on FoP.
He should've followed that
lady's lead!

DSC07328_zpshmokc0ux.jpg

Always has to be someone
who wants to light their
cigarette in a theater.

DSC07331_zpsemwyfqjl.jpg

Ummm... sir?
Just where exactly are you
putting your hand????

On her ankle, of course.
The pictures don't lie, folks.
(Unless I want them to. ;))

DSC07339_zpsug2muaxd.jpg

DSC07349b_zpskxseehtt.jpg

We both left the show
with smiles on our faces.
And that's all you can really
ask for, isn't it?

Alright!
It's 5:40pm and we have
a FP to get to and a 6:00pm ADR.
Time to get moving!

No time for sashaying,
we had a safari to catch!
We hopped on a truck
and took off into the wild!

Behold! The rare, Bearded Rhino!

DSC07353_zpsx8z1aq6k.jpg

A semi-submerged,
semi-aquatic mammal.

DSC07355_zpswimt0mfx.jpg

There was a strange
"tic-toc" emanating from
the beast's open mouth
in this next photo.
We presumed it was
indigestion.

DSC07357_zps5fdw1z4a.jpg

We were just getting into the swing
of things when we came to an
abrupt halt.
I knew that occasionally trucks
would have to wait as some
animal crossed the road.
(Why did the chicken cross the road?
To make someone late for an ADR.)

We were stuck, moving intermittently
a few feet only to stop again, for
20 minutes.
I kept looking nervously at the time.
We were not going to be on time
for our ADR.

All because of these guys.

DSC07365_zpshtzw9ouq.jpg

DSC07368_zpsahkl3drt.jpg

Sheesh. You stick your neck out,
thinking you can get in one last
ride before dinner, and this happens.

Eventually the giraffes moved out
of the road and we continued our safari.

A rare, Unbearded Rhino.

DSC07377_zpsp3hcoss5.jpg

I don't know why, but I've
always liked the warthogs.
Wouldn't want to come up
against those tusks in the wild,
mind you!

DSC07378_zpsog8wfkkq.jpg

After we disembarked,
we made a mad dash
over to Yak & Yeti.
We arrived for our 6:00pm ADR
precisely at... 6:17pm.
I explained that we'd been delayed
by a giraffe and the host replied with
"It happens."
I'm going to use that excuse
everywhere now!
Worked like a charm!

Within five minutes, we were
escorted up the stairs
and sat at a table by a window.

IMG_1742_zpsxyfbs4ps.jpg

IMG_1743_zpsosforpjo.jpg

I ordered a drink.
This one:

IMG_1744_zps7ctb1qa3.jpg

Zero clue what it was.
I forgot to note it.
I'm sure it was at the
very least, drinkable.
But that's all I got for you.

I highly recommend it!
Whatever it was.

I ordered the egg rolls
which I had originally planned
to split with Elle, but they
had pork in them.

IMG_1745_zpsrvifv2cf.jpg

They were pretty good.
I'd have them again.

But what I wouldn't have again?
The rest of what we ordered.

Elle had the Caesar salad
and didn't really like it.
She didn't care for the
parmesan crisps, or the
garlic-ginger wonton strips.

IMG_1746_zpsmgqyybpt.jpg

I ordered the crab cakes.
I don't see it on the menu
and I'm pretty sure it was
the day's special.

IMG_1747_zps706m26ps.jpg

I presume since it was very overpriced
for the serving size that it was "special"
to the restaurant's bottom line.
The crab cakes were flavourless
and a bit on the soggy side.
Very disappointing.
Elle remarked that "Tony's was better"
and I'd have to agree with her.

This led to her dubbing the place
as "Yuck and Yeti".
She still calls it that.

I will maybe go back...
and try something else...
but I'm not in a rush to do so.

After our rather disappointing meal,
we trekked around to the other
side of the park to ride Dinosaur.

IMG_1749_zps8ct0peue.jpg

IMG_1751_zpscbdkc101.jpg

One of the hidden gems is in
the queue, just before you board
your ride vehicle:

IMG_1752_zpsomjjjlv7.jpg

The pipes have the chemical formulas
for ketchup, mustard and mayo.
Why?
Because McDonalds was once
the sponsor of the ride.

421236219_zpsjpmwdpq8.jpg

After a trip to the past,
preceded by a less than
stellar meal, a snack is
in order.
We moseyed over to
Kusafiri to fetch a giant
cinnamon bun, but alas,
the kiosk was closed.
They do things on their
own time in Africa.
Or so I'm told.

It was only a little after 7:30pm
and not quite dark enough to
truly appreciate Pandra.
We checked the wait time
for IASM (It's a Small Moon. Aka Na'vi)
and the wait time was 45 minutes.
We didn't have anything better
to do and weren't likely to get
another chance, so...
In line we got.
We were on the ride a reasonable
40 minutes later.

DSC07397_zpsqfatknzs.jpg

While I wouldn't normally
stand in line for this,
it is a visually stunning ride.
And since Elle wasn't likely
to get another chance...

We spent a bit of time
exploring Pandra in the dark
and then headed out to
watch the Tree "Awakening".
Kinda enjoyed that.
I didn't know they had shows
on it as well as the lights,
and moving critters.

Sorry, no photos. I just enjoyed.
Probably wouldn't have turned
out very well anyways.

We exited the park and got
to the bus stop at 9:33pm.
Elle wasn't looking so great.
I asked her if she was okay
and she said she had a headache.
Too many awake hours and not
enough sleep hours, I figured.
The bus arrived at 9:50pm
(I will charge up that VIP pass!)
and we were in our room
by 10:25pm.

The end to a very long
and very full day.

Pretty sure we were both asleep
before we could say goodnight.

But not before I charged my
VIP bus pass.

And...
In case you didn't see it
last chapter:

IMG_1719c_zpsgeeebhxu.jpg

Did you see it
in this chapter?

Coming up... Never too old.

I’ve heard this from a few people. I’ll presume it’s better than the march through traffic cone forest I had to endure back in August, but still a little disappointing.
I really need to charge that VIP

It’s not like you. It’s like you’re mingling with the commoners.

What a sweet young woman, that daughter of yours :goodvibes Beautiful on the inside and out!

Beautiful photo!

Love the queue

Yeah, no.... DH loves this show :rotfl2:

That's disappointing. We've eaten here a few times and always enjoyed it. We ordered off the appetizer menu last time, the firecracker shrimp and garlic noodles.

Did you see it
in this chapter?
::yes::

we stumbled
across Kevin, strolling about.

I LOVE that they added Kevin! I hope (s)he's still wandering about when I next get to visit!

Besides, it's almost worth
going, just for the queue alone.

Truth! It's so lovely to get so close to the Tree of Life!

The UoG was right.
There were kids screaming
and crying all over the place!

Is it bad that this amuses me every time I visit this attraction?

(I say this until it is my own child yelping and screaming...)

Bug selfie!

That's a must with the bug glasses!

(I now know (thanks @franandaj)
that I could've gotten in a bit
earlier. Ah well.)

Really?! I know there's a grace period at the end (I've put it to use more than once!), but I didn't know the window opened early!

So, no. She didn't see the parrots.
She was too busy watching the scene
unfold in front of her and saving the day.

Oh, that's just lovely! I agree that she'll make a fantastic teacher!

While last time we sat and relaxed,
this time we were in Pandora and
she had never been.
We took the opportunity to explore
a little while we waited.

As much as I'm indifferent to Pandora, I must admit that it looks beautiful (and I'm looking forward to riding FoP)!

Sheesh. You stick your neck out,
thinking you can get in one last
ride before dinner, and this happens.

Darn those giraffes! Don't they know people in Disney World have a schedule?! :rotfl:

How neat to have them so close, though!

I don't know why, but I've
always liked the warthogs.

Me, too! You got a much better picture than I do, though! Mine is always too far away (and a little blurry!).

This led to her dubbing the place
as "Yuck and Yeti".
She still calls it that.

Oh, no! I LOVE Yak and Yeti!

I think your meal choices were the culprits here. Anika and I have had great luck with the Lo Mein (which you can order with veggies only!) and the Shrimp Tempura (which it appears they have replaced with the Coconut Shrimp, but I bet those are also good). We have also really enjoyed the pot stickers, egg rolls, and lettuce cups from the appetizer menu, and we LOVE the fried wonton dessert! I would highly recommend giving Y&Y another chance.

The pipes have the chemical formulas
for ketchup, mustard and mayo.

I love this part of the ride! I think I take a picture of it on every trip!

The end to a very long
and very full day.

You accomplished so much that day! I hope Elle got plenty of sleep and felt better the next day!

Our snack was from Eight Spoons,
the Baked Macaroni & Cheese with
Shrimp and Sweet Chili Sauce.

That looked really good!!

Also...wow you have some stamina lol. I was tired just reading about your two parks day lol

Not for long!
Remember I plugged
it in to charge at the

end of the day. ;)
I didn’t taste this myself but my girls had the one without shrimp and they enjoyed it.
Did it have the sweet

I’ve always thought that too. I like the animal carvings you wouldn’t see otherwise.
::yes::

the first time I went...
Then found it was really nothing.

Live and learn, dude!
That excuse might not work in Winnipeg in February...
I don't see why not?

:rolleyes1
Too bad. I’ve never actually been to Yak and Yeti but read many good reviews.
I've heard good things too.
Just don't order that salad
and if they tell you the special

is crab cakes... just say no.
I actually did know this. I even took a picture for my TR but didn’t include it, I think my post was running long.
I kind of hope they keep the pipes there.
I haven't heard any rumours
of changes coming there, so...

Must be this subcategory of walk is a family trait?
I taught it to her
when she was little.

What a sweet young woman, that daughter of yours :goodvibes Beautiful on the inside and out!
::yes::
That's a great excuse! I think I'll use it at Magic Kingdom... and await puzzled looks. Hey, I've been responsible for puzzled looks for far less...
It worked for me!
No reason it shouldn't
work for you!
Ugh, what a bummer. I have an ADR here in August (never been). I'll surely steer far clear of those choices.
I think you'll be fine as long as
you don't order the salad
or the crab cakes (if they're available.)

Beautiful photo!
It's the model that makes it so. :)
That looks good! I have wanted to try the mac n cheese here, but probably wouldn't get the one with shrimp on it. My DH would love it though.
It's really good with that
chilli sauce!

Love the queue
Right?
Lots to see there.
I may go back just to
walk that queue...
If I miss the show,

that'd be just fine.
Yeah, no.... DH loves this show :rotfl2:
:rotfl: Need to order "whatever it was" next time. Noted :rotfl:
Possibly the best drink
on property!!!!

That's disappointing. We've eaten here a few times and always enjoyed it. We ordered off the appetizer menu last time, the firecracker shrimp and garlic noodles.
Stay away from the salad
and the crab cakes.

;)

I LOVE that they added Kevin! I hope (s)he's still wandering about when I next get to visit!
Elle showed me a video of her
before we even left Canada.
We were just lucky to be

in the right place at the right time.
Truth! It's so lovely to get so close to the Tree of Life!
::yes::
Is it bad that this amuses me every time I visit this attraction?
You're an evil woman!

:lmao:
(I say this until it is my own child yelping and screaming...)
Yep!
I'm curious if you'll hustle him
out of there, or.... point at him

and laugh!
That's a must with the bug glasses!
:snooty:
One must do what
one must do!

Really?! I know there's a grace period at the end (I've put it to use more than once!), but I didn't know the window opened early!
She was saying that you could
get in about five minutes early...
But it didn't work on one ride.

(Forget which.)
Oh, that's just lovely! I agree that she'll make a fantastic teacher!
Oh, yes. She will. :)
As much as I'm indifferent to Pandora,
Excuse me? Where?
Oh! You mean Pandra.

I must admit that it looks beautiful (and I'm looking forward to riding FoP)!
It's very well done
and FoP is an amazing ride!

Darn those giraffes! Don't they know people in Disney World have a schedule?! :rotfl:
It's like they had their
heads in the clouds!

How neat to have them so close, though!
It kinda was. :)
Me, too! You got a much better picture than I do, though! Mine is always too far away (and a little blurry!).
I got lucky that the truck
stopped so I could steady
myself enough to get the shot.
Oh, no! I LOVE Yak and Yeti!

I think your meal choices were the culprits here.
I think you're right, too.
Anika and I have had great luck with the Lo Mein (which you can order with veggies only!) and the Shrimp Tempura (which it appears they have replaced with the Coconut Shrimp, but I bet those are also good).
Lo Mein you say? Okay.
But pkondz does not
do coconut!
We have also really enjoyed the pot stickers, egg rolls, and lettuce cups from the appetizer menu, and we LOVE the fried wonton dessert! I would highly recommend giving Y&Y another chance.
I liked the egg rolls.
I don't have an ADR,
but I am planning to get
some take out there

this Fall.
I love this part of the ride! I think I take a picture of it on every trip!
Great minds!
You accomplished so much that day! I hope Elle got plenty of sleep and felt better the next day!
She did... and she did. :)

I really like this picture!
Hahaha, and Elle is still smiling!
Hey! Did I mention that
it was DHS's 30th anniversary!
It was only 10:00am, one hour
after park opening, and the
standby line was already
up to 55 minutes!
I believe that! We were there that day too!

I fairly obviously photoshopped
her name in there.
That's because I don't post
her real name.
But it was there. :)
So cool that it happened to me too on that trip!
Looks just like Steve's pose!
Elle got her food and I
got a Mystic Punch.
My punch was good,
but Elle loved her lunch!
For her, Tony's was the best meal,
but this one was probably
a close second or third. :)

IMG_1721_zpszwdapptx.jpg
Her sandwich looked better than the one I had last Sept!
I know. You're shocked.
"Heat? Oppressive? In Florida???"
Nooooo! Inconceivable!
It was more for self-protection.
It didn't seem to matter where
we were, or where we went...
But we kept finding ourselves
either immediately in front
or behind them.
It happened at the bus stop,
at bag security,
at ToT,
and now again.
Perhaps it is you who is the stalker.

Not the worst way to end
our day at DHS.
I had one of those for the first time in a long time and it was so good!
Did you see it
in this chapter?
I did!!

I was very impressed with her
ability to move her head
and open and close her mouth.
Quite realistic!
She seemed to greatly enjoy
the kids petting her as much
as the kids enjoyed petting her.

I'd read about this... more than once
on Liesa's TR.
Holy cow was that good!
It didn't last long.
And that was a problem...

I really like this picture!
Thanks! :)
Hahaha, and Elle is still smiling!
She loves her Dad...
And was having a blast!

I believe that! We were there that day too!

I know!!
So cool that it happened to me too on that trip!
I believe you mentioned that. :)
Looks just like Steve's pose!
I think I mentioned that
his pose looked familiar.
Her sandwich looked better than the one I had last Sept!
She really liked it. :)
Nooooo! Inconceivable!
Heat? In Florida?
Surely not!

Perhaps it is you who is the stalker.
Considering we were behind them...

Um...

I had one of those for the first time in a long time and it was so good!
Need to have another
so I can more accurately
compare the two.

For science.
;)

Job interviews?

How is that going? Details!

Okay, so I actually just got the result today after my second midterm of the day.

I applied at the Apple Store, because well I need a full time job while I am in school, sucks because it has made school much longer but what can ya do! Vancouver is to damn expensive.

I went through 3 interviews, it was rigorous. That last interview pitted me against 3 other folks in a dirt pit and we had to fight to the death....okay okay I digress I may have embellished. The group interview was first. So I then had a second interview that seemed to go well but was told afterwards by the hiring manager(via phone a couple days after the interview) that I was probably not a perfect fit based on past experience for the role.

I was bummed but still had one more interview with the store manager. It was supposed to be about 30 minutes, we were there an hour. He's a Leafs, Star Wars and Disney fan! I gave him some tips on booking his next trip :). This interview seemed to go very well, he was glad he didn't have to ask the typical interview questions because our natural conversation answered what he wanted to know.

Still I was nervous, I had let him know that I was open to other roles than the one I applied for just to boost my odds.

He told me I would hear back in 48 hours, 62 hours go by and nothing. I call, am told I would hear back the next day. Nothing, called again and asked to speak to the Store Manager. He assured me I would hear back by Monday around noon. Well I'm taking no news as bad news and around 3pm today he calls.

He said the delay was because he had to go away for training and then had two days off. The store manager was so impressed during my last interview that they were now just deciding which of the 3 roles did they want me in. So great news, I only applied to one place for a job and nailed it. Start date and wage will be discussed Wednesday.

::yes::

I will (as will many others)
be very upset if they
change it to GOTG.

I'm hoping with the new GOTG ride in Epcot they will leave that alone.

Not a bad idea!

I have those one in a blue moon.

Well... sure.
But I wasn't going
to write that.

Ahh, you are no better than a journalist. Always twisting the truth!

Normally, I would to.
But on this trip, I was
deferring to Elle.

Fair enough, I often defer to Ally when we go on trips.

It's more than peanuts,
but less than a Bill Gates.

So more than I have right now.

How should I know?
That was weeks ago!

I think it was at least okay...

otherwise I'd likely remember.

Not the glorious review i was hoping for because it looked yummy.

They're more easily
manipulated.

Exactly, stalkers take no's as yes's, stop as more and storm troopers just leave you be unless you are brandishing a light saber.

Disagree.

I think.
Will make my decision
when I do a more thorough

examination.

Ooooh, well you will need to eat them side by side next time.

Wow, another update. I am a lucky boy today.

I don't respond well to that.
I spun and hit her squarely
with a spinning back kick and
hit her so hard she flipped
right out of her wheelchair.

Whoa whoa, calm down Chuck Norris!

Great picture, my dad has one of me in the same place when I was a wee gaffer.

Okay! Okay!
I didn't bring my tripod, either.

More journalistic twisting, I see!

Our snack was from Eight Spoons,
the Baked Macaroni & Cheese with
Shrimp and Sweet Chili Sauce.

Oh my lawd, that looks delicious.

"Sorry, Dug." I said. "All gone."
Poor puppers. He wandered off
disconsolably, looking for more
food, I presume

Dug sounds like my pup.

ITTBAB!!!!!!

This took me longer than I car to admit to figure out.

Besides, it's almost worth
going, just for the queue alone.

This is one of the few things I vividly remember from AK when I was a kid and I loved it. I also remember crying on Dinosaur but lets move on.

Elle spotted the posters
that are scattered about and I
dutifully took some quick snaps

I love the posters, remind me of Cars Land

We turned right back around
and were in the single rider line
at 3:14pm and on the train
three minutes after that!

This ride always looks amazing, I really want to try it.

We both left the show
with smiles on our faces.

It looked like a lot of fun!

I don't know why, but I've
always liked the warthogs.

Looks kind of like my grandmother. Probably nicer too.

Kinda enjoyed that.
I didn't know they had shows
on it as well as the lights,
and moving critters.

I've watched this on youtube so many times, I am embarrassed to admit but I can't wait to see it one day.
