Canadian Buffoon's Hi Low Vacation - South Central Musings

I've snuck alcohol in all kinds of ways. Disney is pretty easy. Easiest way is to just take a 20 oz coke bottle and fill it half and half or more. Buy cokes in parks and dilute as needed.

I've also used plastic flasks of varying types. Breast milk bags work very well. Cost 10 cents a piece and hold 12 oz.

I've also just put it in my yeti tumbler and walked right in.

Holy crap! That's dedication.

Good suggestion. I might pack my crocs or sandals just for this ride to make sure my shoes stay dry.

Or wrap your shoes in plastic too.
Or take 'em off and keep them under the poncho.

We have gambling up here too.
Wanna come up?
Say in January?

No?

Nope, not in January. Maybe June.

Sweet! Freedom!
Vegas, here you come!

Someday. . . .

Ah! Now I really wanna go!

Yes, yes you do.

Nice!
I think I tried to book that
on my last trip,
but it was sold out.

Looked too late.

We hit at at 180 days out. I'll let you know how it goes.

Ah!
Did I mention that I sold them something?
Got a certificate for a $5 sale.

But it beats a mug or T-shirt.

Very cool

Dale? So you watch American Restoration, too?

Not in awhile but I have in the past. We watch several of the different shows. We watch Counting Cars, Pawn Stars, American Restoration, Fast n Loud and American Pickers. DH just started watching Diesel Brothers.

::yes::
And free, too!

That seals the deal.

It's not very big.
Unless he's a huge car geek,
you won't be there very long.

Sounds like it would be just the right amount of time. Every since I told him he could tour it he keeps repeating it. Since Michelle and I are going to Disney in February without him and Danielle, he keeps saying they're going to Vegas.

We chatted for a bit,
exchanging sordid bits of our past
and eventually parted ways.
(He said he had a thing at 8pm.
Classiest way I've been dumped in a while!)

It was nice meeting you Darcy. :)

Sounds like a great Dis Meet.

Hmmm... how about this.
There was a large poisonous snake
slithering through the lobby.
People were screaming
and running in panic.
I calmly walked up to the snake
and began to rhythmically move my hands,
effectively hypnotizing it.
Once the snake was swaying in synch
to my hand gestures,
I quickly grabbed it just behind the head,
avoiding the sharp fangs.
Moments later I had fileted the animal
and was serving up fricasseed snake
to the now cheering guests.

Sure. Let's go with that.

Sounds like you were channeling your inner "Crocodile Dundee".

In fact, they have the world's largest
chocolate fountain.

Perfect!

That's roughly when we discovered
that it was closed for renovations.

o_O

Well.... poop.

You mean other places besides Disney have renovations?

Fremont street is a mixture of
the very oldest Vegas and the very newest.

You have me interested. Did you see Dan Tanna from "Vegas"? This pictures make me think of this old show.

When you arrive and look East,
it's kind of pretty:

Not too bad.

Impressed?

Yes very.

It's definitely worth seeing.

I will put in on my list if I ever make it there.

However, they did have another place
set aside for me, which is nice.

So considerate of them.

At the end of the street, just past the canopy,
I took this photo.
It seemed to encapsulate
what Vegas is all about.
Minus the gambling of course.
Perhaps that's just a given.

Perfect!

She was a good sport.
Just shook her head sadly and said:
"Go ahead. Do what you have to do."

Heck. She's the one who took the photo!

You're one lucky man. I did laugh out loud at your picture. And no I see no guilt.

On the way out,
we stopped into The Toy Shack.

What a neat place. I would like to walk through just for the trip down memory lane.

I know! Peas! Who'd've guessed!
But it was actually really tasty!

Never had them. I like peas but I don't like them mushy. Hopefully the seasonings make up for the texture.

But I left the table $100 richer
than when I sat down.

I'm impressed.

We never did find it.
Only after we were back home
did I find out they'd moved.

Wow, great photo.

Nope, not in January. Maybe June.

See you then!

Yes, yes you do.

::yes::

Standing by!

Not in awhile but I have in the past. We watch several of the different shows. We watch Counting Cars, Pawn Stars, American Restoration, Fast n Loud and American Pickers. DH just started watching Diesel Brothers.

I've seen every Counting Cars episode,
most Pawn Stars, every American Restoration
(hated when they booted the old cast, that new one sucked.)
A few Fast n Loud and several American Pickers.
Never seen Diesel Bros.

Sounds like it would be just the right amount of time. Every since I told him he could tour it he keeps repeating it. Since Michelle and I are going to Disney in February without him and Danielle, he keeps saying they're going to Vegas.

 You've lost him!

Sounds like a great Dis Meet.

It was!

Sounds like you were channeling your inner "Crocodile Dundee".

::yes::

What's better than chocolate???

You mean other places besides Disney have renovations?

You have me interested. Did you see Dan Tanna from "Vegas"? This pictures make me think of this old show.

I can't recall if I watched Vegas or not!
I mean... it seems I must have???

I will put in on my list if I ever make it there.

It's definitely seeing at least once.
You may be turned off by it...
or you may love it.

:laughing: ::yes::

"I remember that!"

I hate mushy peas...
but this had a nice texture.
I was pretty shocked, TBH.

I'm impressed.

I would've been more so
if it'd had an extra zero on the end.

Wow, great photo.

Thanks! Just lucky, really.

Well darn!!! Probably can't come then. Going to Vegas in two weeks. Then we have to start paying off our Disney trip for next year. As of now I have us at WL for a whole week! Hoping to get free dining. If they don't do free dining for some reason we'll be at a value!

Sorry!

Going to Vegas in two weeks.

That's right!
Gamble right and your
Disney trip will be all paid for.

That's quite the swing!
Deluxe to Value.

But... believe me...
I get it.

If I win money I'm getting a new car! My Saab has seen better days.

Yeah, dining is over $1000 so maybe a mod. I always think of AKL and WL as deluxe lite anyway so cheaper then a true deluxe.

Just bought our tickets to see Love. Just under $150.

Do both!

Disney is not for the meek.
Meek of wallet, anyway.

True.
Well... I think that of WL, at least.
Haven't looked that much at AKL.
While I love the resort...
it just seems so far away.

Just bought our tickets to see Love. Just under $150.

Nice!
And not a bad price!
Discounted?

I'm back! Good to see I only missed FIVE pages of chatter while I was away. :scared1: I enjoyed the recount of your motorcycle jaunt! Planning to pop over to your DLR TR soon...

Hi Meghan!

Glad you liked the bike report. :)
See you over on the DLR TR!

It would depend on how much money I won.

Nice!

Yes I have points to use from playing slots online. Got a buy one get one free on the show tickets and for the buffet at the Mirage. The seats probably aren't the best. I'll have to let you know. I could have got two free nights at the Mirage too but DH didn't want to switch hotels during the trip. I still have tons of points to use. You take me to Disney, I'll take you to Vegas?

Oh, that's easy.

Win lots.
An obscene amount.

Very nice!

Probably going to be just fine unless they're behind a pillar or something (doubt that'd happen.)

I could have got two free nights at the Mirage too but DH didn't want to switch hotels during the trip.

I get that. I like to unpack and "make myself at home" and not have to repack in the middle of a holiday.
Unless I'm traveling to another city.

 Not bad, Carrie. Not bad.
