Canadian Buffoon's Back to Front Vacation - Update! 05/18 - Falling Down

Another show I never watched.
I need to stay in more.

You're probably not missing that much. Though I particularly enjoyed it. But I don't know your tv show tastes. It was one of the many shows I'd never seen and then binge-watched after neurosurgery...Gilmore Girls, Parenthood, How I Met Your Mother, Sabrina the Teenage Witch (which I'd seen but never start to finish), etc.

I have binge watched How I Met Your Mother.
What the heck was with that ending???

Right now I'm bingeing The Office (US version.)
Down to the last season (episode 3) right now.

Well, maybe on one of your 5 minute breaks from work that they allow you, you can try a batch and report back. If it is truly revolting to you, I will hand in my junk food card and forevermore only pursue quality health food :)
But... that means I have to...
walk into a KFC.

I only do that once every
10-20 years and it's only
been about 8.

Dawson Falls is completely
different from the previous
falls I'd just seen.

These falls are 60 feet high
and 350 feet wide.

Gorgeous!

As I headed east, the
Rockies reared up to
greet me.

:worship::worship::worship:

I got my order and...
I'm always surprised, a bit
when I order meatballs.
I always expect... well,
more than two!
(No, that dish is not overly big,
nor are the meatballs.)

Well, what they lacked in Meatballs, they MORE than made up for with cheese!

I mounted the lens on the camera,
steadied myself and...

...captured possibly the nerdiest
looking Bighorn in the Rockies.

Aw! Cutie! Poor little guy :goodvibes

I named him Howard.
(Anyone else watch the
Big Bang Theory finale?)

Perfect! And yes! I thought they ended it just right ::yes::

But there was a pretty good
pizza at the end of the day
when I pulled into Saskatoon
for the evening.

IMG_E0669_zpslxra8nnr.jpg

Looks yummy, but are there sesame seeds on the crust? Is that a Canadian thing?

So to go with the theme,
I made sure to order a
poutine along with my burger.

IMG_0675_zpscryru6lu.jpg

The burger was really good.
(Doesn't it look about 1,000%
better than a McD's burger?)
The poutine?
It was okay.
I'm a poutine snob.
That was not real beef gravy.
And the cheese curds didn't squeak.
But... it was okay.
Not bad. Not great. But okay.

That looks yummy!! I'm going to have to try some poutine one of these days.

And that's it for this part of the TR.
A grand total of just over 3,650 miles,
one tornado, one hail storm and
surprisingly, no damage.
I got to re-meet some nice people
and see some nice sights.

What an AWESOME trip! Mike would love to do this someday, and I think the plan is to try to go cross-country someday when we retire because we'd really like to take our time. But we will NOT be camping or sleeping in roach-infested motels if I have anything to say about it :sad2:

No... wait... that's been taken.
It'll be ADEQUATE!!!!

I'm sure yours was EPIC too! Can't wait to hear all about it!

Another show I never watched.
I need to stay in more.
:rotfl:

Uh... I have May 29th (maybe) off.
Then I have five more days and then
I might get some days off.

Maybe.

As of this morning, I'm working
18 8-hour shifts over 15 days.

I'm already burned out.

Oh well. Only 16 more hours
to go today until I'm done
for the day!
:scared1: I'm exhausted just reading that! I bet you're sleeping well... when you're sleeping that is. :sad2:

You know... I can understand that.
It's a novelty.
Yeah, a dangerous one!

Until it breaks into the house.
Exactly.

I know!
You could've had a close
encounter with... this:

02-winnie-the-pooh.w330.h330.jpg
Awww, I would have welcomed this kind of bear :goodvibes

Good luck with your remaining insanity - I mean back-to-back-to-back-to-back (you get my drift) work days!

Gorgeous!

It was a gorgeous
kinda day! :)

The Rockies are pretty
breathtaking.

Well, what they lacked in Meatballs, they MORE than made up for with cheese!

This is true!!

Aw! Cutie! Poor little guy :goodvibes

Perfect! And yes! I thought they ended it just right ::yes::

I thought so too.
I went away with a
smile on my face.

Definitely not a tear
in my eye, because
I'm a he-man, you know.

:rolleyes1

Looks yummy, but are there sesame seeds on the crust? Is that a Canadian thing?

No it's not.
I'd never seen that before.
But it was good!

That looks yummy!! I'm going to have to try some poutine one of these days.

You need to.
It's an essential food group.

Well, I can do without
the roach infested motel too.

Funny how there were more
bugs inside a hotel than there
were outside camping.

I'm sure yours was EPIC too! Can't wait to hear all about it!

Very, very soon!

:scared1: I'm exhausted just reading that! I bet you're sleeping well... when you're sleeping that is. :sad2:

I don't remember.
It's too little to make an impact.

Yeah, a dangerous one!

:scared:

Thought so.

Good luck with your remaining insanity - I mean back-to-back-to-back-to-back (you get my drift) work days!

Only 6 more shifts
(the last day is two shifts
and 16 hours long)
to go until my day off.

Wait...

You think I have 5 friends?
If I climbed into the dingy
with 5 other people already
in it...

They'd jump out.

(I have that effect on people.)

Well, more room for you!

Great!
So... what's it called?????

Is Cassios?

Oh, no.
The burger was excellent.
I never expect much from
poutine outside of Quebec.

Ah, next time you're in Vancouver. Fritz.

Do you get the feeling that this
particular update will be
particularly... long?

What would make me think that?

a traditional
Bavarian (Southern Germany)
sausage made of veal and pork.

Yes one of my favorites as well, but you ruined it with Ketchup.

So there you have it!
Three falls for the price
of one park.

Beautiful pictures! We don't have those sorts of things in my neck of the woods unless there is unseasonable weather and then the water running down the hillsides knocks homes off their foundations sends mud through the streets.

I should've brought some
sausage with me.
That would've lured him out!
What's the wurst that could've
happened??

We do have those things (bears) in some parts around here and they are no joke with their antics in people's trash cans and hot tubs!

(no really, there's spaghetti under there)

I

I see a little strand sticking out.

It was good, quite good, in fact.
Just a little stingy with the
meatballs.

I think it would have been a perfect portion for me.

...captured possibly the nerdiest
looking Bighorn in the Rockies.

No he just looks like a wise old Bighorn.

I named him Howard.
(Anyone else watch the
Big Bang Theory finale?)

Not yet. I noticed this morning that we have 17 episodes of 22 left to watch on our DVR.

Burn, baby, burn.
Unfortunately, the wood
was slightly damp and
didn't burn all that well,
and the slight breeze was
variable and no matter where
I moved, the smoke seemed
to follow.

There's no escaping the smoke, and you smell so lovely the next day afterwards, as well as your clothes.

But there was a pretty good
pizza at the end of the day
when I pulled into Saskatoon
for the evening.

I approve. Plenty of meat, fungus and no olives!

I couldn't wait to see what
delectable delights awaited
my pining palate.

The sign on the door said:
"Closed due to death
in the family."

Could that have been due to a certain Space Modulator?

The burger was really good.
(Doesn't it look about 1,000%
better than a McD's burger?)

Yes, it does. And I was almost ready to give up on our planned dinner to have Fran take me to Dale's (remember voted best Milkshakes in Long Beach) for one of their "best burgers in my book."

Did you see it in this chapter?

Yes I did.

What would make me think that?

Nothing in particular.

Yes one of my favorites as well, but you ruined it with Ketchup.

Here's the thing.
Sausage only = mustard.
Sausage in a bun (i.e. hot dog) = everything but the kitchen sink.

Beautiful pictures!

Thanks! :)

I see a little strand sticking out.

See? Proof!!!

I think it would have been a perfect portion for me.

Needed more meatballs. :snooty:

No he just looks like a wise old Bighorn.

Good enough for me. :)

Not yet. I noticed this morning that we have 17 episodes of 22 left to watch on our DVR.

Time to get at those. :)

There's no escaping the smoke, and you smell so lovely the next day afterwards, as well as your clothes.

And yet... the day before,
when I got yelled at,
was perfect.

The smoke went straight up.

I approve. Plenty of meat, fungus and no olives!

Olives.... <shudder>

Could that have been due to a certain Space Modulator?

Oh!
I hadn't thought of that!

Yes, it does. And I was almost ready to give up on our planned dinner to have Fran take me to Dale's (remember voted best Milkshakes in Long Beach) for one of their "best burgers in my book."

Almost? So you went?

Yes I did.

::yes::
