Canadian Buffoon's Back to Front Vacation - Update! 05/18 - Falling Down

That's actually the length of my commute. It does take me a while to get through each book.

I bet!

Actually, I'm trying to finish
a book right now.
I had about 4.5 hours to go,
and I'm finding it frustrating
because when I get to work
(or home), I want to keep listening!

Well if it ever helps me to win a game on HQ (a trivia app) then it definitely won't be useless! They give away cash prizes on there but it's extremely hard. My brother and his wife are trivia masters (they play in local leagues and have won many times) and haven't managed to win on HQ yet.

I think my girls were playing that.
They gave up after a while,
I think.
Neither is very good with trivia.

Ohio. Ew.

Not a huge fan, I take it?

If I'm going to listen to anything, it will most likely be an audiobook. But 90% of the time I don't have anything at all playing.

I usually say that the voices in my head keep me entertained enough.

It's mostly a joke.

"mostly"

:rolleyes1

I don't blame you.

Yeah. But it gives me
an excuse to go again!

Well......I don't know?
I know I've seen bits and pieces of it here and there, but I've never actually seen the whole thing start to finish. I've seen enough to get the major references.

Well.... close.
But you really should
watch it start to finish.

It's good! :)

So, obviously, I'm guessing here, but if I check on my phone and it isn't a leg lamp I'm going to be sorely disappointed.

Very good guess. :)

Yes! Those inconsiderate people who can't bother to show up on time.....the jerks. :duck:

:rolleyes1

Still smarting about that,
are we?

Won't ever be a problem with me. I have an Android.

Ah! Yes, I did think of that.
"What if someone doesn't
have an iPhone?"

I figured if that was the case
then it wouldn't be an issue
anyways, so if they didn't
know what I was talking about...
it wouldn't matter.

Thanks for the tip! I'm always looking for my next favorite book.

I liked it.
Went places I wasn't expecting.

Uh...sure, I guess?:confused3 I don't know what else is there.

Well, there's this one other place...

Now we're talking!

See????

That's a great question.

It's a great movie. :)

Though my personal preference is for Lux, I find that Palmolive has a nice, piquant after-dinner flavor - heavy, but with a touch of mellow smoothness.

Life Buoy, on the other hand...

YECCHH!

Thanks for the link! I don't think I'd read about your trip there before.

All of 'em are in my siggie.
You'd be a fool not to sit
down and read them all
right now.

:rolleyes1

I love reading about movie tricks like this.

::yes::

I really feel we've lost something
now that everything that required
some creativity is just...
photoshopped out.

Looks fragile. It must be Italian.

Uh, I think that says FRAGILE, Mark.

Probably for the best. I've always thought celebrity-worship gets way out of control.

Years ago, I thought it'd be great
to be famous.

Now? Not so much.

I'll take the cash, though.

This happens with my GPS, too. I think it may have to do with EXIT ONLY lanes. If it's dropping a lane at the exit they reinforce the message to stay on the highway.

Oh! Yeah, that's probably right.

Still, this was the first time
she didn't say:
"Keep right, on ramp."

She said... nothing.

I feel the same way. I'd much rather be early.

::yes::

Reminds me of an old Simpsons episode.

"The preceding episode contained scenes of extreme violence and should not have been viewed by young children."

giphy.gif

There it is.
I considered posting
that image myself.

Nah. Someone will do it for me.

Ooh! I think I've heard about this before. Saw it on a food show on TV somewhere.

Oh really!
I can definitely say
that I'd go there again.

Well, that's a pretty good answer to the question.

Yep!

Looks yummy! Except for the pickles. I have a feeling I'd like this place.

I almost asked for
extra pickles.

Love pickles.

Like any real man would.

The lesson, as always: never order coleslaw.

But... but....
I like coleslaw!

I am frequently disappointed, though.

I remember receiving just that sort of a message...

From anyone I know?

::yes:: Why so shy?

Wasn't invited.

I was... But then I came up with this crazy idea to double up on my Spring semester and graduate early - in May! The weekend after this trip. In Ohio. Too much all at once... including $$$ :sad2: But the good news... I will soon have no pesky inconveniences of semesters to juggle when planning future trips! :thumbsup2

Hey!!!
That's great! Graduating early?! :thumbsup2

You'll have your hands full until then,
but then you're free!!!

I approve. Halloween shall not be messed with.

Correct!

Yes! Me, too :goodvibes

:wave2:

Thank goodness! That was a long walk home... :rolleyes1

I had that covered.
Got me a pair of
these bad boys.

I love this movie!!!!!!

Isn't it great?!?!?

I saw it! :hyper::hyper::hyper:

::yes::

I didn't see it! :faint::faint::faint:

Bit more sneaky this time. ;)

Not a huge fan, I take it?

All of my awful stories while on a road trip involve Ohio. I don't like the state.

Unfortunately, 90% of my in-laws live there, so generally once a year I'm forced to make the voyage. Luckily most of the time it's in Cincinnati so I just barely have to cross into Ohio. But still. I'll skip it if I can.

No, really, the last time we went to Indianapolis I made us drive an hour extra so we could take 40 west and just go north through Tennessee/Kentucky and miss Ohio.

;)

Still smarting about that,
are we?

Sigh. I HATE being late.

Huh?

I don't understand.

What are you talking about??
:lmao:

Yes. Yes, it is.

:rolleyes1

Well, I'll get right on that! Um...later.

I really feel we've lost something
now that everything that required

photoshopped out.

I agree. I still like practical special effects better. Sometimes more constraints bring about more creative solutions.

Life Buoy, on the other hand...

YECCHH!

Uh, I think that says FRAGILE, Mark.

Sometimes my conversations with friends consist fully of movie quotes.

Years ago, I thought it'd be great
to be famous.

Now? Not so much.

I'll take the cash, though.

Agreed, on both counts.

Oh! Yeah, that's probably right.

Still, this was the first time
she didn't say:
"Keep right, on ramp."

She said... nothing.

Huh. I dunno. Maybe she was just mad at you.

There it is.
I considered posting
that image myself.

Nah. Someone will do it for me.

You had it all set up there. Somebody had to spike the ball.

Oh really!
I can definitely say
that I'd go there again.

Good to know!

I almost asked for
extra pickles.

Love pickles.

Like any real man would.

Real men don't eat green things. :crazy2:

But... but....
I like coleslaw!

I am frequently disappointed, though.

Probably because it's cabbage.

From anyone I know?

Whoa.
Gonna go out on a limb and say
you really don't want to go there.

Sigh. I HATE being late.

Well, I'll get right on that! Um...later.

I expect a 40 page synopsis.
For each of them.

By Saturday.

I agree. I still like practical special effects better. Sometimes more constraints bring about more creative solutions.

::yes::

Sometimes my conversations with friends consist fully of movie quotes.

Nothing wrong with that.

Huh. I dunno. Maybe she was just mad at you.

Could be.
I did have my phone.
She may have been jealous.

You had it all set up there. Somebody had to spike the ball.

::yes::

Real men don't eat green things. :crazy2:

Sure?

Or

Probably because it's cabbage.

Well....

Ya got me there.

Exactly! Then... more time for Dising and more $ for Disney trips :thumbsup2 ;)

::yes::

You’ll still be at the museum though, right?
I’d like to go back and spend more time.

Ahhh, I should have known. Always a step ahead, you are. :thumbsup2

I ain’t no fool.
Well...
I’m not always a fool.
Sometimes I’m not a fool.
I wasn’t a fool this one time.

I don't have an iphone, but I do know what you're talking about.

Epic fail on trying to be funny.
No! Just the opposite!

So... true story.

When I was in Atlanta
(and other places)
I noticed that you followed
the rules and used text
and not iMessage.
Then, when I got home,
since you were using text
already, it defaulted to that
even though I was back
using data (or wifi).

I tried to force it to iMessage
and it didn't work.
Day before yesterday,
I Googled how to change it.
I deleted our old conversations.
I closed and reopened the app.
I turned off and on several
switches in settings.

All to no avail.
I got pretty frustrated.
I was going to ask you
for help and...

You don't have an iPhone!

:lmao:

So... your attempt at humour
didn't fail...
It succeeded spectacularly!
