British Name for Grandmother

My kids have a granny and a nana.

I called my dads mum Granny and my mums mum was called gaga ( not sure why)

i called mine grandma.
one was strawberry grandma, because she grew strawberries & one was chocolate grandma, because she always brought us chocolate, when she visited:) i love these memories!
i am now called nana
tracy

Mine wre Grannie and Nanna, however my mother has gone the traditional Welsh for some reason (Although Welsh, she cannot speak a word of the language) and has insisted my Nice call her Mam Gu (pronounced Mam Ghi).

Ok OP said she stayed in England, but for a little cultural balance, wanted to add an alternative.

I called my Mum's Mum "Nan".

My kids, on the other hand called my Nan "Little Nan" and my Mum "Big Nan" - more because she was wider than Little Nan rather than taller.........;) :rotfl:

I call one grandmother 'grandma' and the other 'grandmum' as she insists it sounds younger than 'grandma'! :rotfl2:
