Just got through talking with some friends that are coming for a visit next year, and I really don't know how give them the best advice for their circumstance's.. So if you could share some wisdom. It's much appreciated.

So here's how things are right now... They live in France and are looking to stream line or fine tune their upcoming trip..but still get the most out of it... they have 2 kids under 4. Staying at AKL DVC.... using private car service...

Alrighty... here we go...

1) Can they book the day before but with a really late check in time?... they do not want to wait around till 3 or possibly later for the room to be ready... So they arrive early morning on Thursday morning, and will be at the resort between 5 and 5:30 am... They are flying in on a private jet, that their friends company own's, he has business here in Orlando, and they are catching a ride with him from NYC, They will be visiting them for 2 day before heading to WDW. If they can't secure the DVC for Wednesday suggestions on were to stay, with small kiddo's they need somewhere they can lay down and sleep...

2) On departure day, they want to be able for the kids to take their full naps, shower and rest before the late flight time which is 10:45 or 11:20 to JFK, how does this work? They are planning on hitting the parks, and one last character meal. Before leaving... they will not be back for 2 years... Do they or should they just leave the resort room or should they check out before going... then they stay over night at JFK, for a super early morning flight back home...

They use some type of airfare club for cheap airfare, for business or first class... so there really isn't any wiggle room for changing flights...

Thanks in advance...

They can add the night before (if available) with a late check-in time, but they should call and complete online check-in with their arrival time so its noted it will be a late/early morning next day check-in. Otherwise, they could be processed as a no show.

They have two options:

1) Check-out by 11am (they can just leave the room) and then bell services will store any bags. Magical Express will pick them up roughly 4 hours before their flight time. As far as showers, I believe all resorts have shower facilities near the pool. There's no "lounges" that I know of, unless they booked club level which they can still access on check out day.

2) They can book that night as well, and just leave the room when they need to without physically spending the night. This would mean they'd have to pay for the extra night in the hotel. It would give them a room for the day though, and it sounds like they'd be getting most of the day out of it aside from physically sleeping there.

For the pre-night stay just have the reservation noted for approx. arrival time, and on line check in would be a good idea too with the time noted.

For the last day we have booked an extra night now and then ourselves to be able to enjoy the resort, shower, maybe nap, leave the packing for that day, etc. before a late flight home. It does really take the stress out of that last day and gives us some rest time after being in the parks late the night before.

We've book an extra night many times without any issues. Flights to Australia are normally evening and we like to be fresh before we go (takes 22-24 hours from Orlando).

If they can afford it then sure; there is no reason they can't book that first and last "day" even though they won't be sleeping there. THe only potential issue is that first night = so as mentioned above just make sure the resort knows the actual arrival time so they aren't seen as a no-show. Online check in may help with this but it doesn't always go through so I would call sometime that day to be sure. That last day won't be an issue at all.

We haven't done a first day booking to guarantee an early room ready but we have booked the last night even though we left late and didn't actually sleep there. It was a bit of an indulgence but the kids were young and the flight was late so ….. it was worth it :)

OP here,

Thanks so much everyone... I have passed on the info... She emailed me and they had no trouble adding a day on the front and back of the trip.

Many Thanks...
