Best shows in Vegas?

What would you Vegas experts say are the best shows to see ? Name your top 5 please. thanks!

I adore Cirque du Soleil (despite the cheesiness), I've seen most of the shows they've done in the past (not Zumanity yet, or the new Beatles show Love, or Celine Dion which isn't exactly Cirque but close enough, same with Reve, these have all come out in the last few years) and Vegas has the best of the bunch. I love Mystere, seen it four times. Love O, especially when the SCUBA divers get "stuck" on the stage. I really liked KA, it had a coherent storyline (a first for Cirque), and excellent stunt work (boys would love it). Cirque is generally suitable for the whole family, except Zumanity, but tickets are a whopping $100 a person.

Blue Man Group is fun.
If you lake ABBA, you'll like Mamma Mia (despite the cheesy storyline)
I always see David Copperfield or Tom Jones if I'm in Vegas when they're performing.
Forever Plaid is fun and family friendly.

I'm drawing a blank on the rest, more will come to me I'm sure.

I was definetly thiking of seeing Celine Dion, and then maybe a comedy show or a magic show. While I would love to see the Beatles Love show, I'd be vetoed by my family members Thanks for the good sugestions.

My mother and I are going to buy tickets to Cirque de Soleil. We are leaning toward the cheap seats ($69) for "Love" on October 8. The website says they are still available.

I LOVED Love. I haven't seen any of the other Cirque shows but from what I've heard from family, Love has a more intimate feel. But the entire show is to Beatles music so how can you NOT like it?

I've also seen Blue Man twice, once at the Luxor and this last time at the Venetian. They really aren't my thing but my husband loved them. I will say that if you have seen them at the Luxor, you don't need to see them at the Venetian. It's pretty much the same show.

The next show on my list is Elton John's show.

2) Barry Manilow - Las Vegas Hilton (he is on disability now - hip surgery)
3) Cirque du Soleil - Mystere, Ka, O
4) Celine Dion - She gives a fantastic show (gives me a sinking feeling all the time)
5) Blue Man Crew

What I miss is Siegfried & Roy. Those white tigers were awesome.

1.) LOVE - It's an incredible show, in a wonderful, comfortable theater. Prices are reasonable for a top-tier show and souvenier/concession prices were surprisingly reasonable as well. I've seen it twice and I can't WAIT to go back for a 3rd. Simply amazing.
2.) Mac King Comedy Magic Show. - Afternoon show that is a great value and tons of fun! He really does a great job!
3.) Elton John - The Red Piano. He's such a wonderful performer and seeing him live is such a treat. He's funny and makes a special effort to work the crowd. The videos that go along with the songs are so mesmerizing I kept forgetting Elton was there!
4.) Jubilee! It's kitchy and campy and topless, but it's just so quintessentially Vegas. Everyone should do it once. Spend the extra $10 and take the backstage tour--it's really fascinating.
5.) Comedy Stop at Tropicana. 8pm show is non-smoking. 3 comedians per night, and it's rumored that they pay better than the other casinos, and therefore get better talent.

KA, Lance Burton, Poolside concerts at Mandalay Bay, Mamma Mia, Second City, Dueling Pianos @ NYNY, Star Trek Experience

DIShonorable Mention: Viva Las Vegas at the Stratosphere (at free, it was still overpriced!), The Price is Right Live! (surprisingly dull), Magic of Rick Thomas (Interesting for a while, but he lost me when he started dancing around with a pole with a wig on it. Better magic can be had for not much more money.)

I've seen "Mystere" twice and "O" once. Loved them both. Going next week to see "Phantom Of the Opera" at the Venetian. Can not wait!!!!!!! They built a 40 million dollar theater just for the performance. I'll give a report when I get back!

1st visit so I haven't seen any yet but Love sounds good, especially for the music! I also like the sound of "O". Shame Elton John isn't on when we go, I'm really bummed about that!

I've seen Elton John before in a concert - just him and a piano. It was great.
Didn't like Red Piano at all - really disliked the videos!

I have been going back and forth think of seeing Jerry Sienfeld (sp) but not sure he will be as funny as his show on TV, he isn't that low $$$ wise so I want to make the right decision? TIA

Even if you're not a Celine fan the show is AMAZING!!!

A note on 'Phantom' - it's a 90 minute version of the show. While all the songs are intact, the show does not have an intermission and some of the dialouge and staging have been trimmed. The theater itself is much smaller than the tyical Vegas "big show" arena - that means you can actually see what's going on and the play looses none of it's visual impact. Still, it is a lot of bombast to cram into 90 minutes. If you're a fan of the show, it's worth checking out.

And Cirque's "Ka" is the best show in town. The stage alone worth watching.

 

[Ticket Man]

Carrot Top at the Luxor is hilarious. The theatre is very small and every seat is close to the stage. Go to the 1/2 price tickets place next to the MGM and M&Ms store and tickets can be had for $30. I hated the thought of even going to the show, but he was one of the best comedic acts I've ever seen. I'm a big fan of Dave Chapelle, and saw him a few weeks back. Chapelle didn't come close to Carrot Top.
