Benefits of using DU?

We are planning to book a March 2004 3 day cruise. The quote Dreams U gave me is exactly the same as if I booked through DCL. Are there benefits to booking through DU? I know upgrades are few and far between (and not expecting one) but would someone booking through DCL directly be more likely to get one or vice versa? Thanks, I'm hoping to put a deposit down in the morning.

BTW, I also could get a deluxe oceanview for $200 total more but would have to book through cheaptickets.com and I'm not sure I trust booking through them. Anyone else booked through them?

Benefits to booking through DU:
- excellent responsiveness and attention
- quick to answer all kinda of questions (even my repetetious ones)
- they always let you know if the price goes down
- they are familar with all the disount programs and promotions as they are Disney vacation specialists
- they almost always have rebates for cruises over $1,000
(so that would make them less than DCL's direct price)
- you can possibly get some kind of neat gift in yoru stateroom if they book 8 or more staterooms on your cruise (of course that al depends on the DCL policy being revised I understand) I believe you do not get the potential gift if booking direct through DCL as its a TA reward thing or something like that.
- easy to make deposit, partial payments, or full payments through their website or by calling on the phone.
- they are all over the DIS boards so if you ever really, really have a problem with them (wich I doubt) you'll definitely be able to get them on here.

Am I sure I got all the reasons? Probably missed some.

We just booked two staterooms through DU and received $100 stateroom credits for each and rebates based on the price of each stateroom. I can't access my quote right now, but I thought the offer for credits was good through September, so you might want to ask about that since you won't get any kind of credit through DCL, unless you book on-board for a future cruise.

According to the DU website, if you book prior to 31 July for a cruise before 12/31/2004, you'll get a rebate - the amount varies depending on the cost of the cruise, but is up to $200 off the DCL price.

Just put my deposit down with DU this morning. We are not eligible for rebates because the cruise is under $1000 - just DH and I in inside room, no transfers or air and ....................................................................................................................we leave for Disney World Old key West in 15 minutes!!!!!:Pinkbounc
