Benefits of Annual Pass/DVC

Hi all,

We recently purchased DVC and are looking at annual passes. Are there any discounts available to AP holders besides memory maker that aren’t offered to DVC? We go once a year for 7-9 days so will probably get the AP because we love memory maker, but just wondering what else it offers. Thanks!

I think there are a few differences, but not many.

Here is the link to the dining discounts comparisons. http://allears.net/wp-content/uploads/archive/pl/disc_dining.pdf

Also - if you really are going for 7-9 days per year and can get both those trips under the same AP then it can make total sense. If you are only getting the AP for a trip that is 7-9 days then the savings is questionable.

AP sometimes get magnets at Epcot or access to certain AP merchandise.

Both can get you TiW - which can be a great benefit if you are doing a number of TS meals with larger parties.

You could always have one in your party get the AP so that you have the discounts and the access to the memory maker.

You can get a gold pass thru DVC that has memory maker and all AP merchandise and dining discounts. The Gold Pass does have blackout dates, so you would need to make sure that the blackout dates do not fall on the dates you plan to use the passes. The Gold Pass is for DVC members, and offers a discount relative to the standard APs.

You can also get the Platinum Pass or the Platinum Plus pass. There are 15% discounts on these for DVC members, but there are no blackout dates.

The key to maximizing the value of your AP is to make multiple trips on it. So if you go once per year: What if...
You go for 7-9 days in late May (for example)
The following year, you go for 7-9 days in early May (for example).
You have gone for up to 18 days on a single AP.
Now you let the pass expire. Do not renew.
The following year, you repeat the process

Thanks! Really helpful!!

This is not true there are discounts on platinum and platinum plus as well for DVC Members as long as you bought direct or are grandfathered in.
