Dh & I are going to Vegas for 2 nights in Nov. I couldn't pass up the $7 airfare from Allegiant :thumbsup2 We have not been since 92, so I am pretty excited.

Anyway I can get Ballys for $100 a night. The location looks good, just wondering if anyone has been recently & if this is a good price? Thanks for any info!

I stayed at Paris, next door to Bally's, last January. The location is great, and I enjoyed their casino and lounge. According to the sites I've looked at, the rooms are supposed to be nice, but nothing glamorous. I'd think $100 would be a really good deal. I think I got an internet rate of $99 at Paris and upgraded to a strip view when I checked in for $129.

My DH and I were there this past May. There are positives and negatives to this hotel.

Positives:
Great location right in the middle of the strip.
$100/night is a good price

Negatives:
It's an older casino and shows it.
Some of the rooms are yucky. Mold in the bathrooms and just dingy.
It's not pretty inside. It's just a casino.
There aren't very good food choices.
The pool is fine, but nothing fancy

Ask for a room in the new tower. I can't remember its name, but we moved after one night of being in the moldy old tower. The new tower was lovely. Our room had granite tile in the bathrooms and much nicer beds. That made our stay totally livable!

If you want close food, go to Paris (connected to Bally's). The breakfast buffet is one of the best in Vegas. We also liked the burger place in the shops between the two casinos.

There's also a nice deli downstairs on the way to the pool.

We never ate dinner near our hotel.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies! There are so many places to choose from, it's making my head spin lol We really do not want to spend more than $100 per night if possible, any other suggestions?

Check out what rates you get you can get at TI, usually they're in the same range as Ballys and TI is much nicer then Bally's. Bally's seems so dull to me.

Thanks, right now it is only showing Tower suites at $260 a night :scared1: I'm sure deals will come out once summer is over, so I will keep checking!

The North Tower has the renovated rooms.

Be sure to check out The Tequila Bar. Great happy hour specials.

Are you getting that $100 rate directly from Ballys?

Are you visiting during the week or on the weekend??

$100 a night on the weekend (for someone who doesn't have a history with the casino) is probably a good deal.

How does that rate compare to the rates on the Harrahs website. On that site you can compare Ballys, Paris, Harrahs, Flamingo, Rio & Paris all on one screen.

We are staying Monday - Wednesday(Nov. 5th -7th.)

Another hotel that might be in your price range is Monte Carlo. Check it out.

In the Pros & Cons of Ballys, I don't think it was mentioned that Ballys rooms are fairly large.

Something to remember, if you book directly with a hotel you are only charged in advance for the first night. You will usually be able to cancel or change your reservation up to 2-3 days before your trip. If you book with another website (expedia, travelocity, etc). you are usually charged in full when booking and are not allowed to cancel or change your reservation (or change with stiff penalties).

I'm not saying don't book with another site, I'm just saying weigh the benefits vs the risk. If you're only saving a few dollars, book directly with the hotel.

I was thinking about the Monte Carlo, but I am worried about the construction.

I really appreciate your help, thanks so much!

I'm fairly new to this board so If I'm repeated things that have already been said, please forgive me.

Another thing you might want to do is to sign up for email notifications on the websites of the hotels you are considering. They will send you special rates, etc.

What are you're plans when you are there?? Things you want to do & see? Restaurants you want to dine at?? This might affect where you want to stay.

I have signed up at a few different places. So far the deals I have received are only through September.

With us only being there for 2 nights, we haven't really decided on exactly what we want to do yet. I know we plan on checking out alot of the different hotels/casinos, but everything else is still up in the air :confused3

I just booked the flights last week. Vegas has changed alot since we were there in 92 & I know we will not have time to do/see everything. That just means we will have to go back :thumbsup2

I was told of a deal at Planet Hollywood for $99 a night, so I am going to check into that as well.

Planet Hollywood was gonna be my next suggestion, but I check their website for specials, and like you said, most specials right now are not going into November yet.

I tend to overplan, so take what I say with a grain of salt, but...

check out restaurants in advance, and if there's one you know you wanna eat at--make a reservation. There are too many choices to play the "I don't know, what do you want to eat" game at the last minute. Most of the popular places will either not have availability or be a signifcant wait.

Nothing wrong with over planning! I do appreciate your help.

I like the location of PH & the monorail is next door at Paris/Bally's. I know we plan on using this. One of the things we want to do is check out the Fremont St. Experience. I was thinking we could take the monorail to the Sahara & take the bus from there?

We haven't even discussed eating places yet, guess I better start looking!

If you don't mind taking the bus, I would use the bus for everything and forget about the Monorail.

A 24hr Monorail pass is on sale right now for $8 or $9. A 24hr bus pass is $5. The Monorail is at the very back of the casinos. If you remember when there was a Monorail that connected MGM to Bally's, they just added on to that.

The Monorail is good if you are going far distances or going to the Convention Center.

The new Deuce bus goes from the south end of the Strip all the way Downtown.

If your planning on spending one of your evenings Downtown, check out the menu and reviews for Hugo's Cellar (at the Four Queens).

Does your flight come in early on Monday?? If you only have one full night (Tuesday), you might want to leave Fremont street for next trip.

Thanks for the heads up on the bus & I will check out the restaurant. Is the dress casual for Hugos Cellar?

Our flight arrives around 10:30am on Monday. So we will have 2 full days & nights. Our flight leaves close to 5pm on Wednesday.
