I have a quick question, my parents might be joining us on our trip in Feb, Can I add them when they arrive or does member services need to know before they get there? Also they will be driving, and we are too. Will I be able to get them a parking permit too? TIA!!

I don't have an answer, but am very curious about the answer. My parents are joining us next year--two rooms, two cars, two passes given?? :confused3

p.s. Nice avatar. :)

I've done it in the past (last November) and have never had a problem. Getting a second parking pass isn't a problem either. As long as you are within the occupany of your room you are OK. Last November after a cruise my DD and SIL stayed the day with us at the BCV before their flight that evening. I went to the front desk and got room cards for both of them so they could use SAB. We were booked in a studio and it was just the 2 of us, so adding them for the day was OK.

However, this August I was staying at the BLT and when checking in I noticed my granddaughter was not on the reservation. It took 30 minutes to cancel and rebook my reservation so they could add her. Now I don't know if this was a BLT issue, or a drawback of the latest computer upgrade, but it was a pain in the butt and I did write to the MS satisfaction team about how complicated it got, along with other negative issues that occurred and they apologized for the check in problem. I would be curious to hear if anyone else has had an issue lately.

I have had issues adding on people at the desk. It was only one time, and it was at BCV. So, from then on, I add people to the reservation ahead of time, just in case. If they don't come, I destroy the room keys.

n2mm, it may have been a BLT issue as I just got back from BWV and they didn't have to cancel and rebook when I added (and deleted) names at check-in. In fact it went very smoothly.

We were also able to get "day-passes" for friends (which as far as I can tell don't count toward room occupancy). We had four 1-BR and 1 studio and wanted access to each others rooms. It came in handy dropping stuff off or picking up a forgotten item.

As far as parking passes, we have had as many as four cars when in a 2BR with no problem.

Unless the DDP was part of the equation, I suspect this was due to lack of knowledge or inefficiencies on the part of the CM in question. We've added guests at check in and later during stays and gotten parking passes at various times as well including this past Sept.

Yes, I suspected it was a "lack of knowledge" too. The CM was "earning his ears", but he had a "Jiminy" trainer helping him and before it was over they had to get the manager. As mentioned, I had done it at both BWV and BCV in the past and it's never been an issue. No DDP was not part of the equation....I still don't think the folks at CR have gotten a handle on how to deal with DVC yet. I keep hoping, but decided to take a year off from BLT in 2012, and will be staying at OKW, BWV, BCV and BWV.

DW and I are staying a studio in Dec.
DD and family will be coming in for a day arriving in two cars, I will get IDs and parking passes for them at check-in, meet them at DTD, and then escort them to the resort. Never had an issue before doing this.
Other DD and her friend will be arriving on another day, getting them in will be handled the same way.

If I am renting points, would it be hard to add someone else down there? I rent a villa, and someone isnt sure if they want to go or not. If they do decide to , would it be ok to just add them at the desk, or do I have to get the owner involved. Would it be best to just have the owner add the person just in case beforehand?

If you're unsure and you don't have a DP, I'd wait.
