This second article about the awards, by Disney, highlights the Adventure Guides as the reason ABD is so good. (Gee! WE could have told them that! :thumbsup2 ) It features 2 of the Guides, Dusty and Andrew. Nice article!

The guides are great and I think the fact that there are two of them where other tour operators only provide 1 guide makes a big difference.

We had Andrew (the guide mentioned in the second article).
He was great. When we went to WDW in October we looked around for him (He does DVC when he is not on a trip) We didn't see him -and my girls were seriously disappointed -they loved him.

We say the photo of Dusty--I think it is the same Dusty that was our great guide (along with Daisy) in China in 2008--but my DW claims it isn't him. The hat makes it a little hard to tell--anyone out there know: are there two Dusty's??

I love the example in the article about coffee beans in Ecuador. We did the Ecuador trip with Chris and Eduardo. On the day we were doing the Otavalo Market, we asked about the meat market because my son ( a very adventurous eater) wanted to try a "local delicacy". They said we probably wouldn't find it, as it was generally only prepared for special occasions like weddings.

The next night was a BBQ at the hacienda, which was chicken, and pork, and to our surprise, Eduardo, had arranged with the cooks to have the "delicacy" prepared for my son. He was ecstatic! Big hugs for the guides from my son!
