ABCs of A Trip Worth Waiting For + PNWMM: P: A Practically Perfect Pacific NW Mouse Meet- pg. 26

Wow! The displays were really good! Were they for particular businesses, put on by Disney, or just fans for fun? Sounds like they brought in some great speakers. I'm always curious how imagineers get to be a part of Disney. My dad's cousin is a retired imagineer, but he didn't really share his story when we met. Just mentioned it took hard work. Imagine that. :rotfl2:

Well poop.

The internet is fixed. YAYAYAYAYAY!

But, I have a doctor's appt in 20 minutes. Booooo!!!

I have all afternoon to reply. YAYAYAYAY!

But all afternoon will be spent at work. Boooooo!!!!

Once again, thwarted on being engaged or replying anywhere. Sorry Folks, yet another day of DISDowntime.

Yes there is. I would love to travel and see more but I also have something called a job.

Concentrate on what's impo....

sorry. At work. Phone's ringing....

I’ll take a hot one over pastries any day of the week.

I'll take most anything over pastries. My blood sugar would thank me for that.

Okay, fine. I got a 2nd plate too:

I like their omelets, sometimes I've ordered eggs over easy as well.

We got there a bit early and had time to see all the folks coming in who had quite elaborate costumes on. These were pretty awesome!

Sometimes that's the best part of these Disney fan events, the fans are so creative!

we went as two people just really enjoying themselves. Pretty easy to stay in character that way.

Sounds convincing enough...

every dollar went to support one of 3 charities the PNWMM supports, so that alone made my “donation” worth it. In the end over $18,000 was raised for those charities- Juvenile Epilepsy, Ryman Arts and one other.

The Ryman Arts do a great job, it's amazing how many folks got their start with them and went on to become great artists.

We two skipped over to the snack kiosk and grabbed lunch. Go ahead judge us; you know you want some right now too.

While I love those, without protein in my tummy first, it would send me into a hypo-glycemic fit.

There was some time to kill and the PNWMM Organizers went far above and beyond in creating some quite simply AMAZING Disney-themed displays for photos opps and fun.

I love the detail of all of those.

First up was Bill Rogers and Camille Dixon. Don’t feel badly, I didn’t know who they were either, but once I tell you, you will instantly realize that every single person reading this report “knows” them. At least their voices. They ARE the Voices of Disney.

Actually I recognized Bill Rogers immediately. I didn't know his name, but he did announcing at many D23 events. He would just be sitting in the back of the room being an announcer. I remember looking at him and thinking, "That's the guy who does all the announcements in the park." Like, "Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, tonight's firework spectacular has been canceled due to high winds." :sad2:

For $20 Bill would record his voice on your phone as a voicemail greeting, which I did.

That's kind of cool, but none of my friends would get it.

After all of my prizes were given to others who were luckier, it was time to head out and find some dinner.

I'm already hungry...

 That's great! Was he giving them out? Or just for show?

No, he was definitely giving them out. He'd walk up and open his box and offer you one. So clever!

Then you don't need a place to stash them, no?

Oy, Yes. Some of the bags were stuff I bought along the way, my camera bag, the HUGE goodie bag we got when we entered, etc.... no, didn't need to carry all that crap around all day long.

::yes::

Your brekkie looked pretty tasty. It's unfortunate that Disney snacks aren't enough to sustain us always.

That's why we just keep eating and eating and eating them!!! TRY ALL THE THINGS!!!

You must have seen some amazing getups! I'm always so impressed to see the cosplays people put together when we go to the cons Nathan works at. I love the Pizza Planet guy!!

Definitely creative and fun!

Wow! I can just feel how inspiring she was through your writing. I have some googling to do once my midterms are over...

She is also and award winning photographer! Does it ever stop?

I wondered if you had any plans for Annual Girls Theatre Day for this coming year! That sounds like a fabulous way to spend it! I'd really like to see that show.

Plans are coming together! Should be a fun weekend!

Amazing! It's like Andy's room is really real in front of you!

This was the 2nd most elaborate one. There was also an UP Diorama, and a huge model of the Burbank Studios.

So cool! Voice acting is really neat. I can't imagine how many people have heard their voices.

Yes, it takes talent, but for his (well both of them) it came down to a few lucky breaks and acquaintances.

I probably would have done this, too. ...But I don't know how I'd feel about that being the voicemail message everyone heard when they call me. I use my cell phone for everything, including school and work stuff. I had a really silly voicemail message for a while where I talked in a cheesey voice over cheesey background music which was fun, but then I got pretty self-conscious when I thought about how everyone from my family to the receptionist at the doctor's office would be hearing it all the time, etc.

That is actually a huge reason I'm seriously considering deleting. My work uses it, and well, it's just not very professional sounding. Fun, yes, but....

Hi
Your time at the mouse meet with Kari sure looked like a lot of fun.lots of photos to remind yourself of it.We had a comic con in our town three months ago the first ever to come to Glenrothes which we went to it was first time for this type of convention for us really good.Your mouse meet looked just like it but about all things Disney.Would love to have it over here bit too far for the Disney workers to travel though.

I've not ever been to a Comicon, but they do look fun. I've seen the costumes for the one in Seattle not long ago and they were VERY elaborate and creative, but well, this is Disney, so therefore inherently better. ;)

You'd be surprised how far Disney workers will travel given enough compensation. ;)

Depends on the pastries. If they're fresh, and include cinnamon rolls, apple Danishes, and/or donuts, it works pretty well for me. But compared to french toast or pancakes, bacon, eggs, and hash browns? Yeah, no contest.

I make sure to give myself the choices. But, those above choices, for me anyways, are perfect for dessert.

Indiana Jones = Approved.:thumbsup2

The lights on his jeep even worked. Clearly he'd put some time and effort into his gig.

Hey, they gave you Disney pricing too! Way to make you feel at home!

Of course! (And we paid them too.)

Not that thick, actually. Gotta make this jar last through the trip.

Your generosity astounds me.

Very cool! Did you ask if she'd like to mentor some teen Imagineering hopefuls?:rolleyes1

No, but I wonder if there is a summer internship/camp for that. Then again, most Disney Imagineers have a lucky break through who they know.

I can't wait to see more about the Runaway Railway. It's gotta be better than GMR.

I liked GMR, BUT, yeah, it had run its course and either needed an update or needed to go. Sadly, Disney isn't in the business of keeping/updating and adding more.

So...that's not of much use, then, is it?:confused3

I always get a 16 oz classic latte made at 130 deg. That's $3.65. So, I spend that then usually lose the card (and $1.35).

Dang. For $20, I want better than cheesy. My old college roomie and I had a classic voicemail greeting. People would call when they knew we were out just to listen to it. I wish I still had that one.

Care to provide a written transcript?

Well, that's..... annoying.

But all fixed now. Turned out to be a power source issue. Gave us a new wire of some sort. We had a HUGE wind storm a couple weekends ago and they said they had a lot of tech issues after it.

:rotfl2:

Just the fans who are really involved all year long who made them. I guess a hobby of sorts. :)

I think most actually got their starts with acquaintances. Or got internal promotions while starting off in lower positions. Too bad you didn't get that story! My cousin was one as well in the early 70s. I need to ask his sister, the one I met in California last time about his story.

Yes there is. I would love to travel and see more but I also have something called a job.

LOL! Me too, but mine is pretty flexible so I can travel a bit. :)

What is it with you people and your jobs?
Concentrate on what's impo....

sorry. At work. Phone's ringing....

sighh..... gotta pay to play. And the next 2 weeks leading up to my trip are BUSY ones. Lots of hours including some overnights. While those suck, they do get me my hours in pretty quick being long shifts. Luckily, I'll have a good solid couple of days to sleep them off and be ready to enjoy vacation when it's time to take off! WOOT! (It's also a good thing I packed MONTHS ahead of time so all I really have to do now is pack my travel bag (the night before) and head out the door.)

I'll take most anything over pastries. My blood sugar would thank me for that.

Yes. I caved at work on Friday. Friday is doughnut day, and well.... there were apple fritters. It was delicious.

I felt like crap afterwards.

I like their omelets, sometimes I've ordered eggs over easy as well.

It was certainly fresh and cooked to order. I like that option!

Sometimes that's the best part of these Disney fan events, the fans are so creative!

They really are!

The Ryman Arts do a great job, it's amazing how many folks got their start with them and went on to become great artists.

While not their goal to produce more artists for Disney or Pixar, many have started there at Ryman. Even if they don't go on to become paid artists, they teach valuable life skills to inner city kids which help them succeed in life in general.

While I love those, without protein in my tummy first, it would send me into a hypo-glycemic fit.

Hypo?? Wouldn't that send your blood sugar through the roof?

I love the detail of all of those.

Lots of TLC went into those!

Yep, totally his job. So cool!!

And yes, he does those too. Not live, of course, many are pre-recorded, but he does do live stuff too, all the time at and for the parks. His favorite is the announcement he did/does for the high school bands because he knows how much work the moms there pour into getting their kids there. He does that announcement specifically for the moms and says he still tears up when he talks about it. (As he did at this event too.) Remind me to tell you a little tidbit in person that he shared about his least favorite. Too long and complicated to type out.

That's kind of cool, but none of my friends would get it.

Precisely why I'm considering deleting mine. It's just lost on too many in my world.

I'm already hungry...

Well, I'm going to start working on the next update, so.... maybe a little food porn coming up later.

No, he was definitely giving them out. He'd walk up and open his box and offer you one. So clever!

 That's great!

But all fixed now. Turned out to be a power source issue. Gave us a new wire of some sort. We had a HUGE wind storm a couple weekends ago and they said they had a lot of tech issues after it.

Huh. Wouldn't have thought a wind storm would cause that kind of issue.

sighh..... gotta pay to play.

:sad2: You'll be at Disney before I start packing.

Wow! I wonder if they know each other? His last name is Fridlund

Yes. I caved at work on Friday. Friday is doughnut day, and well.... there were apple fritters. It was delicious.

I felt like crap afterwards.

::yes:: As much as I hate to admit it, I have to start watching my sugars, and you know what? My morning sugar readings are going down and my A1C is better and better. Odd how that works....

While not their goal to produce more artists for Disney or Pixar, many have started there at Ryman. Even if they don't go on to become paid artists, they teach valuable life skills to inner city kids which help them succeed in life in general.

I went to a dinner at a Disneyana convention where we paid an obscene amount for "convention food" for a Ryman Arts fundraising dinner. They also had an auction where people paid more obnoxious amounts for various art pieces and such in support of Ryman Arts. That's how I learned about it. They had two tables of kids (grown up kids) who had been beneficiaries and they talked about how it helped them. Several worked for Disney, and others had done things in philanthropic companies, but it was impressive the skilz that they received just by getting that "toolbox" from Ryman Arts, and the guidance that went with it.

Hypo?? Wouldn't that send your blood sugar through the roof?

Hypo/Hyper, Snypo/Snyper, I don't know what I'm talking about! :lmao:

And yes, he does those too. Not live, of course, many are pre-recorded, but he does do live stuff too,

I remember seeing him sit in the back of the room for something, not sure when it was but he was doing it live.

Q is for: Quite a Day of Ridiculous Fun!

While the PNWMM was over, our girls’ weekend was not. We had a dinner, a sleep, and another day to find fun stuffs to do. Did we?

Of course we did! But food first. Because let’s face it, as delicious as Mickey Rice Krispy Treats and Mint Juleps are, they are merely an appetizer for dinner. Or an entire lunch, as the case may be. Admit it, you yourself have had a giant, sugary “snack” at Disney for a meal at least once.

We had made no prior plans for ANY of this weekend, and had no idea where to go for dinner, so we stood out in the parking lot and Googled Italian places. That sounded good at the time.

We ended up here:

http://www.therockwfk.com/

Pizza’s Italian, right?

I mean we certainly saw some adequately handsome Italian men recently at a certain Pizza Place in EPCOT…

Ahem…

Dinner was rather unpretentious. We started off with an order of:

Brown Sugar Mozz Bread for $7.25

IMG_4705.jpg

IMG_4704.jpg

Because dessert for lunch wasn’t quite enough.

It was outstanding. I admit, I was pretty skeptical of something sweet, but this wasn’t overly so. I paired it with some sort of cheap, house red wine, which probably wasn’t the best beverage to team that up with, but well, it was what it was. I doubt we ate it all. Nor did we eat all of this:

IMG_4706.jpg

But, it was pretty good pizza, nonetheless, and we made a pretty good dent in it. We had a nice time just sharing stories and life and having a great time. It’s what friends do.

We headed back to the hotel and it was at that point that I realized a critical packing error. The hotel has a SUPER, UBER cool hot tub. And I didn’t have a suit.

ES_indoorpoolwaterfall_11_1280x430_FitToBoxSmallDimension_Center.jpg

Yes, I’ve gone commando at Disney. Yes, I’ve skinny dipped a fair amount in my life. But, tonight was not a night I particularly wanted to get arrested. So, we basically went back to the room, I took a dip in the bathtub, and went to bed. Lesson learned!

After a pretty decent slumber, we got up and hit up the free (odd how we call a more expensive hotel’s “free” breakfast “free”) AYCE breakfast. I’m a creature of habit, so check out the last update for photos of what I ate- Omelet and Potatoes: Take 2. And OJ. And coffee.

And coffee may or may not have contributed to what happened very soon after.

Ahem....

We checked out with no problem and headed out to load up the car, only to find it was misting and had gotten the streets pretty wet. No problem. We live in the PNW, afterall, and we’re pretty well accustomed to rain, no?

Yeah, I thought so too....

We headed out. With Kari navigating, I was raring to go. A little too quickly, apparently. Because, well, we all know what happens when it hasn’t rained in a long while and the streets get wet, don’t we? Jacked up on caffeine, I fishtailed my way onto I-5 S back towards Seattle, while Kari, no doubt, peed herself right there on my car seat.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaw!

Just before nearly killing us both, we had chosen to hang out at Seattle Center where you’d find some cool stuff to do like the Space Needle, The Armory- an indoor shopping mall of sorts, some museums, such as the Dale Chihuly blown glass museum, a cool park, street buskers, etc… ad nauseum. It’s a very PNW place to hang out if you ever get up this way.

Warning: Space Needle photo overload imminent.... bwooop, bwoooop.....

IMG_4707.jpg

IMG_4709.jpg

Specifically, we were headed here. But first! The obligatory pilfering the city does on your bank account for its parking fees. Of which the word ridiculous doesn’t even begin to cover. Seriously… $20 for 3 hours? You suck in this area, Seattle. Then again, the public pays and visits… so I suppose the laws of supply and demand work astonishingly well here. Somewhat less wealthy, yet eager to get moving (WE ONLY HAVE 3 HOURS, GET MOVING!), we headed here:

IMG_4708.jpg

The Museum of Pop Art. It has rotating exhibits and today’s offerings seemed fun to explore: David Bowie, The World of Fantasy Fiction, Star Trek and much more! We ponied up another Jackson or so, and in we went. We quickly made a plan, since we couldn’t dilly dally too terribly long, and found ourselves somewhere in the Final Frontier. Data was glad to see me (he did learn to be "glad" in an android sort of way, you know), and I was glad my shirt wasn’t red.

IMG_4715.jpg

IMG_4713.jpg

IMG_4712.jpg

IMG_4733.jpg

IMG_4725.jpg

IMG_4724.jpg

(You know what those are, right?)

Silly was the name of the game for us both, and we probably had a little too much fun being dorks to the hilt. But, Kari is the cracker to my cheese, and I suppose I’m the Spock to her Kirk. Enjoy a dose of Girl Silly today:

IMG_4732.jpg

How did she do?

IMG_4730.jpg

IMG_4718.jpg

9e0596bc-0530-48a7-9229-130c079ae189.jpg

IMG_4750.jpg

After that, we set the drives to warpspeed and ended up in a World of Fantasy Fiction. This was a REALLY well done area. I really enjoyed it a lot. The floor was covered with strewn pine needles, fairy music was playing in the background, and there were plenty of interactive exhibits to play around on. Which naturally we did.

IMG_4741.jpg

IMG_4739.jpg

IMG_4737.jpg

IMG_4735.jpg

Your Maiden Warrior Hostess and her Iron Woman Companion bid farewell to the Fantasy Folk and switched back to the other-worldly realms of Science Fiction where we found a ton of memorabilia from Sci-Fi shows and movies from decades past to present. But I think we had the most fun designing a fictional trip and our payload like this:

IMG_4745.jpg

Which giggled about that for the rest of our time together. Crispy amazeballs anyone? It was definitely a TR Title worthy moment!!

Aside from this interactive jobbie, there was a HUGE spinning globe with the terrain of Pandora on it:

2995cbcd-107e-46d1-9aa4-8cf4462a00b0.jpg

A ton of weapons from dozens of Sci-Fi shows, costumes, models of spacecraft, etc… It was fun!

Time was running short, so we chose to end with the David Bowie exhibit. I have long enjoyed his music and felt he had a unique talent and charisma. Strange, and self-admittedly drug addicted, yes. Eccentric, yes. But talented nonetheless. I mean, I will give credit where credit is due. Plus, he was pretty darn popular in my early formative years and I have many a fond memory of listening to his works as a young girl. The exhibit though, sadly, was, IMHO, not really as well done as it could have been. There were a lot of clips playing, but none that you couldn’t pull up on any number of websites and see or listen to. There were a precious few of his outlandish costumes and some small anecdotes about his relationships with other music greats, and it focused on mainly his Ziggy Stardust years, which weren’t my favorite. No photos of this part either.

IMG_4752.jpg

(The outside from the park we went to next.)

All-in-all, I think we were both glad to have spent a few hours in there. It was definitely worth the time and effort, and had we had a couple more hours in the meter, I personally would have stayed longer and seen the rest of what the museum had to offer. But, time was indeed running out and we decided to walk a bit before heading home. I stopped at Ground Zero for Starbucks (not the original store, but very darned close and about as “Seattle” as one can possibly get) using the card I’d won got a latte, and we took another route back to the car to see a bit more. We briefly stopped to watch an Ecuadorean/Andean music group play (if you know me at all, you can bet I will almost always stop to watch live music!) and it brought back many wonderful memories of living high up in the Ecuadorean Andes in a little village named Papallacta. The place of many, WAY too many, near death experiences for us. But that’s material for the novel I may write someday. (sorry, no photo)

IMG_0221.jpg

IMG_4758%202.jpg

IMG_4754.jpg

Sorry, I just couldn't help myself!

Anyhow, we found one last way to waste far too much time. But you know how sometimes you start something and then feel compelled to just keep going? We set out on a maze and then just couldn’t stop. Yes, we spent 15 minutes… very possibly more, walking until we nearly puked (believe it or not, this really did make both of us a bit dizzy!) all the way to the middle of this thing where we found this.

IMG_4761.jpg

IMG_4759.jpg

I’ll let you Google that, and let its message sink in.

OOPS!! That’s 3 hours! Time to dash… to dinner!

An hour or so later, we ended up here for a quick dinner near her home:

http://www.mcnamaraspubandeatery.com/

Happy hour was going on, and while we didn’t want any booze, we did want the Happy Hour prices on food which were only available if you were sitting in the bar area. Ok…? Whatever. We moved. And got this:

IMG_0223.jpg

IMG_0222%202.jpg

The food was average, and no we didn’t finish our dinners either. Kari took the leftovers and all too soon, I found myself dropping her off and saying a sad goodbye. We’d had a wonderful weekend together and I will say the PNWMM is definitely an event worth going to. Loads of fun to be had!!

I’ll leave you with a heartfelt invitation to all of you to join us next year. We’d love to spend some time with you, and I don’t think you’d regret the time and money you will have spent.

And thus endeth the ABCs of a Very Pacific Northwest Mouse Meet.

A mere 2 weeks until Steppe heads out on her next adventure. Be watching for a brand new TR where all of the antics and silliness can be found. Where we can all hang out, share stories, and be friends. Until then,

Yours truly,

Steppesister

So guys.... ummm PB is being it's usual crap, and while I realize there are misplaced photos, I can't fix tonight... tomorrow. :)

Hi Liesa
Have enjoyed reading your trip report to Disney land with the mini one to Seattle.Your writing style has been great acompanied with lots of great photos. You managed to cram quite a few things into your three hour visit to the tourist area the Si fi section of the museum looked a worthwhile visit I had to Google the saying to see what it ment very apropiate for a saying in the center of a maze. Sad to see a trip report comming to an end but will be looking out for your next one .Now you have less than two weeks till you are back in WDW the most magical place on earth enjoy your dapper Dan day.

Love the the ABCs of a Very Pacific Northwest Mouse Meet! I wish I was closer so I could join in. Just looks like so much fun.

The outside of this looks amazing. Don't think I have ever seen anything like it.

The Museum of Pop Art. It has rotating exhibits and today’s offerings seemed fun to explore: David Bowie, The World of Fantasy Fiction, Star Trek and much more!

Seems right up my alley too!

Data was glad to see me

Looks to me like he was floored to see you!

(You know what those are, right?)

Yup. You did stay out of trouble with those tiny little Tribbles right?

How did she do?

Amazingly

Did you plan to match your outfit to this display? LOL it seriously is perfect for it!

Crispy amazeballs anyone

Sounds like award winning stuff to me!

Daughter update! Went to the Cardiologist to be cleared for her Angio. They scared the life out of me at first, stating they thought she might also have a Coarctation of the Aorta. 4 hours later, and 1 ankle-branchial index test later, we found she did not. Her surgery is scheduled 11/10/17 at 6 AM.

@Malia78 ...when you're home and settled back in, make sure you add your photos and fill in all the blanks.

Not quite over jet lag but work waits for no one...regular work week starts tomorrow.

I think you've done a great job covering the highlights of the mouse meet--your photos are pretty much what we have since my camera battery failed really early on. The couple pics I've tried to paste aren't taking--keep getting an error.

I can add some of the things I've learned from this trip down memory lane:

I will pay ridiculous amounts of money for anything unique that portrays my favorite mermaid.

My Kirk screaming "Khaaaaannnnnn" face is really scary--I might give myself nightmares tonight.

I will never be able to say Amazeballs Crispy Space Crumb with a straight face. Still waiting on recognition from NASA for our amazing discovery...

I wish I had the guts to wear some of the costumes behind closed doors that David Bowie wore on stage.

Following the yellow painted swirly road has the same dizzy effect as those dastardly spinning teacups.

Finally...being the cracker to Liesa's cheese is an awesome time. Can't wait to do it all again next year!

another day to find fun stuffs to do. Did we?

Of course you did!

Of course we did!

See????
I told you.

Admit it, you yourself have had a giant, sugary “snack” at Disney for a meal at least once.

Um... there was that one time I got the chocolate and caramel covered rice krispie bar that was as big as my head from Karamel Kuche....

:rolleyes2

That place looks good!

Pizza’s Italian, right?

Heh.
Reminds me of a documentary I watched on Pizza.
It focused on the States, but it did go to Italy. There they asked kids where pizza originated. Almost all knew it was Italy.
Except for one lad of about 10-12 who said "America?"
Which was followed by a swift swat to the back of the head by a nearby adult.

I mean we certainly saw some adequately handsome Italian men recently at a certain Pizza Place in EPCOT…

Ahem…

Ah. Ya like 'em young and swarthy, do ya?

It never is.

Not surprised. I wouldn't think it would be.

That looks good! Too bad they accidentally spilled olives on it though.

But, it was pretty good pizza, nonetheless

Once you picked off the offending black rings.

We had a nice time just sharing stories and life and having a great time. It’s what friends do.

And... the end. No more TR. It ends in a fiery explosion.
Good grief!!!

the Dale Chihuly blown glass museum

My reason for visiting Seattle. Must see this.

Warning: Space Needle photo overload imminent.... bwooop, bwoooop.....

Thanks for the warning.
I shall avert mine eyes.

Seriously… $20 for 3 hours?

That's insane! Must be a captive audience.... drivers... parkers.... whatever.

The Museum of Pop Art.

Do you have any idea how long I looked at that, before reading the text below it?
MoPOF? What's MoPOF??????

and I was glad my shirt wasn’t red.

This too. I was thinking "Red shirt? What does that have to do with Data?"

And then the nickel dropped.

1. Move your thumbs to the side and away from your hand, not over your palm.
2. Get your pinky and ring finger together!

You shoulda been less worried about a red shirt and more worried about wearing a skirt!

:rolleyes1

(You know what those are, right?)

Were they much trouble?

How did she do?

Okay, that's frickin' awesome!

 I only just noticed what it says.

Whoa! I would not want to meet you in a dark alley... or even a well lit one!

The floor was covered with strewn pine needles

Nice touch!

I can definitely see this.

 No. Way. :faint:

Cute photo of the two of you. :)

Which giggled about that for the rest of our time together. Crispy amazeballs anyone? It was definitely a TR Title worthy moment!!

 You should have!

Aside from this interactive jobbie, there was a HUGE spinning globe with the terrain of Pandora on it:

Does Disney know about this? They're gonna be in trouble!

it focused on mainly his Ziggy Stardust years, which weren’t my favorite.

Yeah, me neither.

It was definitely worth the time and effort, and had we had a couple more hours in the meter, I personally would have stayed longer and seen the rest of what the museum had to offer.

Really! Two more hours. Sounds like this is a great place to see!

We briefly stopped to watch an Ecuadorean/Andean music group play (if you know me at all, you can bet I will almost always stop to watch live music!)

I am beginning to realize that about you, yes.

it brought back many wonderful memories of living high up in the Ecuadorean Andes in a little village named Papallacta. The place of many, WAY too many, near death experiences for us. But that’s material for the novel I may write someday.

:scared: Must hear these some day.

Nice capture! You have a really good eye, Liesa.

We set out on a maze and then just couldn’t stop. Yes, we spent 15 minutes… very possibly more, walking until we nearly puked

You know you could have just walked straight to it, right?

I’ll let you Google that, and let its message sink in.

I did!

Mmmmm... Love me some pretzels.

That looks so good. Pity it didn't taste as good as it looked.

We’d had a wonderful weekend together and I will say the PNWMM is definitely an event worth going to. Loads of fun to be had!!

Glad to hear it! And it sure sounded (and looked!) like it was.

I’ll leave you with a heartfelt invitation to all of you to join us next year.

Doubt I'll be able to, considering I'm heading to the West coast in April, but you never know!

A mere 2 weeks until Steppe heads out on her next adventure. Be watching for a brand new TR where all of the antics and silliness can be found.

Yay!
Thanks for sharing this one with us! :goodvibes

Looks to me like he was floored to see you!

:lmao:

Not quite over jet lag but work waits for no one...regular work week starts tomorrow.

Welcome home!

My Kirk screaming "Khaaaaannnnnn" face is really scary--I might give myself nightmares tonight.

You did a really great job with it!

I will never be able to say Amazeballs Crispy Space Crumb with a straight face. Still waiting on recognition from NASA for our amazing discovery...
