A Tent for Solo Trips

I travel to WDW solo several times each year and am considering purchasing a tent for Ft Wilderness stays. We've "camped" there many times in our trailer but never in a tent. (I have quite a bit of tent experience, just not at WDW.). DH has had three hip replacements and really can't tent camp these days so I'd only need space for myself. (When he goes will go with the 5th wheel which I'm just not up to pulling. Just the thought of towing that behemoth gives me palpitations!) We already have most of the other gear I'd need including heavy duty stakes, lights, air mattress, fans, etc.

Looking for:
Easy setup for a short girl
Good ventilation
Solid construction
Easy fly that I can roll back for ventilation (finding this has been a problem)
<$500

Not important
4 season capability
Height-not backpacker teensy, anything over 5' will be fine
Storage-it's just me, no plans to cook and I have an SUV for hanging clothes and food.

So far I'm looking at these two:

I'd mainly use this for spring, winter and fall (maybe-leery of fall weather) trips. I rarely go to WDW in the summer.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

jsmla,

I have posted on here in the past about the Eureka brand of tents and for "car camping" as you describe I like the Copper Canyon line of tents.

I like the Eureka brand for strong tents. Not backbacking tents, not Coleman beginner tents. The 4-person tent would be small enough for you and you can use your air mattresses.

It is just an idea for you to consider.

Thanks! Our old tent was a Copper Canyon 8 person. It's just a bit taller than I'd like-I couldn't handle it on my own. I'm pretty short-looking mostly at dome and tunnel (those are new to us) tents for ease of setup and wind resistance. I did add the Eureka Suite Dream and X Loft to the list :)

I haven't ever camped at the Fort, but have camped all over in the West. For solo car camping I have this

We also have the 6 person for when we both go. I have set it up and taken it down dozens of times on my own. I am 5"5, but my 10 year nephew did it last year solo and he wasn't even 5 foot at the time

You might want to look at the Coleman 6 Person Fast-Pitch Dome Tent. It's on sale at Walmart right now for about $70. I believe it fits your requirements exactly.

Bushnell Instant Tent would be my choice. We have the 12 person version of this. Ventilation is not a problem. Even without opening the windows, which can be done without touching the rain fly, these tents are built to resist heat and humidity build up. The rain fly sits over a foot above the mesh on top, which means no sticky feeling in the mornings. We live in Florida and have used this tent in the middle of summer with no problem. It's the first tent I have ever experienced that didn't make me feel damp.

Ours is a bit on the heavy side (12 person) but not ridiculously heavy like canvas. It goes up in literally 2 minutes. Take down about the same. Because tents over estimate the capacity by double, I would call this more of a 3 person tent. A nice, single room with space for extras for one person. $135
