A Star Wars Story...

I think the last Jedi was a let down kinda.
I liked the interaction between Kylo and Rey. But that’s it. Luke’s roll was weak and how they killed the supreme leader was awful. Was hoping for more from the supreme leader. When I left the theater for the last Jedi I was kinda bummed.
I actually left with better feeling for solo.

I want to see an obi-wan story and a yoda story but you need to make them stories worth watching. The timeline is an issue. If you hadn't seen rebels then the camero appearance of a bad guy toward the end would be very very jarring.

The MCU is the right model with each story moving the timeline forward of if you do go back (like Captain Marvel is rumors to do) you make it clear. There was no confusion as to Captain Ameria and where it fit.

The other option is to go way way back and do a KOTOR type story. Going forward and back in time from movie to movie is not good.

I enjoyed solo but i think all the beind the senes turmoil took its toil and they wound up having to rush it out to hit the release date. After bringing in ron howard they should have just pushed it back a year or two and taken their time. My other thing is I don't think releasing it in may just a few months after TLJ was a good move either. Stick to the december star wars schedule and again would have given more time.

I wouldn't say stop the spinoffs but take a few steps back, regroup, and come up with a cohesive plan for what you want to do.

That and find the Star Wars version of Kevin Feige.

I read speculation that they kept Solo in May because moving it to December could have hurt Mary Poppins Returns, and they’d rather have the latter be a hit.

I saw Solo today with my mom. It was just a fun heist-type film. I admit, I never really felt like I was watching Han Solo as a character, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying it. I really disliked the Last Jedi, so I was happy to see a movie that didn’t disappoint.

I think all future star wars films should be put on hold after how terrible the last Jedi was. I watched it again last night on netflix just to make sure I wasn't harsh the first time I saw it.

Nope, terrible. Worst star wars movie made.

I enjoyed Solo. But the previous poster was right, LJ was the worst SW movie to date. I would rather watch episodes 1-3 before LJ again.

That said, was really excited about the Obiwan movie.

interesting, I've seen it three times and enjoy it more in repeat viewings. I think because now I know what it is, and what it isn't and just enjoy it for that rather than waiting for what I thought might happen to come/not come

I think the big problem people have with The Last Jedi is that it's kind of anti-climatic. They never got to see Luke Skywalker be the Luke Skywalker that he was in the extended universe and they never got to see him in a major lightsaber battle. They built up the bad guy, what's his name, only to cut in half and just kind of lie there awkwardly. The casino side-mission had no impact on the plot. Rose could have just locked Finn up in space-jail and the outcome would have been exactly the same. They killed Admiral Ackbar offscreen. Ashoka is still nowhere to be found. There's no sassy droid referring to humans as meat bags.

I didn't hate it, but I can see the flaws with it. If Episode 9 tanks, 10 may have tons of fan service. They might as well bring back Luke and Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor) with the power of the Whills as they team up with Ashoka, Sabine, Mara Jade, Revan and whatever fan-favorite characters as they battle Darth Vader's evil clone and evil C-3PO or something.

I would pay good money to see HK-47 brought to life. But I'd pay a lot of money to see a Star Wars movie or series set in the KOTOR. That game universe was glorious and had amazing characters. I loved Ahsoka. My daughter likes Star Wars because of Ahsoka. For some reason, she's not a Rey fan. She doesn't dislike Rey, she just doesn't connect to her. I'm not sure why. But Ahsoka was the type of character I wish they had gone forward with and I know my 8 year old daughter does as well.
