A Most Epic Fantasy DISmeet Cruise-The bitter end 3/21, Bonus Feature, Completed Star Wars Galaxy's Edge 6/20

We were greeted by a gentleman at the front of BLT. When the bus driver removed her scooter from under the bus it was continuously beeping. It took us a while to figure out that the bus driver screwed up the horn on her scooter and broke the button. The nice gentleman at the resort gave us some scotch tape so we could at least tape it in a position where it would stop beeping. He also called around and tried to find a place that could fix it. He also filed a complaint with Mears, but we've done that before and it doesn't do any good.

That REALLY stinks, Alison, but the worst part is that the customer service is so bad that they won't honor a complaint or try to make it right. :(

then headed to the Monorail for Trader Sam's.

A VERY good place to start! Fun that you got a different Nautilus cup!

He offered $100 which was half the retail price, how often does something on the resale market actually fetch 50% of the original retail price? Even cars lose half their value as soon as you drive them off the lot! Well since I had purchased a second pair I was OK to get rid of the shoes and they were well worn. I figured why not sell them to this guy (as freaky as he might be). You see I'm pretty sure he has a foot fetish, I asked why he wanted the shoes and how he knew they would fit? He said he didn't plan on wearing them, at which point I was a little creeped out, but you know what? A hundred bucks is a hundred bucks and whatever he wants to do is ok with my shoes, I would have donated them to a thrift store anyways, so I'm OK with that!

Wow...I'm not sure I needed to know this.:rotfl:

But I told you we had some unexpected surprises.

So the above paragraph was just run-of-the-mill, then? :scared1:

We arrived in Houston on time and when I turned my phone off Airplane mode I found a voicemail from a tenant with plumbing issues.

Right across from the gate where we landed and next to the gate where our plane would be leaving from was a Buffalo Wild Wings.

...and then you had plumbing issues as well. :lmao::rotfl2:

After lunch Fran went to sit at the gate, and I was ready for coffee (they didn’t have any at Buffalo Wild Wings). I’d heard good things about the coffee at Dunkin’ Donuts and there was one nearby. I think it was a mistake to order the Iced Coffee because it didn’t have any coffee flavor and it was just about the most horrid drink I’d ever had. When I sat back down at the gate, I saw a woman with a Starbuck’s cup and I had coffee envy not having looked for the Starbuck’s.

I'm not an iced coffee fan, so I probably would have agreed with you. But if Starbucks is what you're used to, Dunkin' would probably taste weak.

We didn’t get a room text and I was starting to wonder if there was something wrong.

You got upgraded to the Castle Suite! :woohoo:

When the bus driver removed her scooter from under the bus it was continuously beeping. It took us a while to figure out that the bus driver screwed up the horn on her scooter and broke the button.

D'oh. The lesson: never, ever bring a scooter to Disney World.

Then we went up to our room.

Looks nice! I've always wondered about staying in the Contemporary/BLT. I like the Space Mountain art.

This gave Jill the idea that if real Jenny couldn’t come along we would bring Flat Jenny with us.

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Way to improvise!

How did I miss the start to this? Love the room! Sorry to hear about tenant problems and the driver breaking the horn on Fran's scooter!

You see for those who aren't aware, we sell the extra items we buy out at the park that we don't have room for in our house, on eBay. In addition we have lots of musical instruments (possibly enough to make a whole band, heavy on the clarinets and saxophones) and we are selling off these items. Last March I sold my secondary flute to a guy who saw my shoes in the picture with the flute and has been trying to get me to sell them to him ever since.

OK that is just...really weird!! I wouldn't want to know either...so just sell them and don't ask questions is a good idea.

I'm finishing up this account from the first leg of our journey on the plane, and I'm happy to say that I did get some sleep last night. Fran says we went to bed at 9PM. Somehow I don't quite believe it was that early, but I did wake up easily at 3AM, which i cant believe I'm actually saying that. And we made it to the airport with no incidents and had plenty of time to board. We enjoyed this pizza as our breakfast of champions.

I love pizza for breakfast. And not the weird breakfast pizza like so many places serve but just regular pizza!

Fran ordered the tacos, she took one, maybe two bites, but said that they were way too spicy for her and couldn’t finish them. I didn’t even try them cause they were covered in some kind of cilantro sauce.

z18FC0823BLT03.jpg

Interesting! I'd think that since you guys are in California you must eat a lot of spicy Mexican food but I guess you are not into spicy food!

But our plane was boarding soon and I wouldn’t have time to get a better coffee so I just pouted.

Haha, DD has the worst coffee. People only drink it because it's convenient and cheaper than Starbucks.

I can't believe you had another scooter incident! But this one is kinda funny, did the tape wear off at any point and it started beeping continuously again?

We didn’t have to wait at all for a table, there were several that were open.

Wait, what?
There were tables that were Open? Even when we stayed at the Poly we never found an open table inside!

Fran was exhausted so we went back to the room and she went right to sleep. I was still wired so I waited up and Jill arrived at 12:30. Originally Jenny was going to come on this trip, but she changed her plans a few months back. If you read the comments for the introduction, you might have noticed she was upset not to have a picture included in the intro. This gave Jill the idea that if real Jenny couldn’t come along we would bring Flat Jenny with us. We went out on the balcony and took a picture with Flat Jenny with the castle in the background.

z18FC0823BLT17.jpg

Hi Flat Jenny! That's a good idea. I can bring Flat Fran and Alison to our Epic Girls Trip in May? LOL.

I love your trip reports. I laughed at the bit about DD though. I am originally from the East Coast, but lived in California for 10 years. I am now back on the East Coast and have not readjusted to the weak coffee here. I can't imagine that anyone from California would be excited about Dunks.

Hope you are having a great trip.

:woohoo: Yay you’re all back! And thank you for bring in getting a flat me along. I love you ladies!

I'm glad to be back, readjustment has been a long process with lots of moving parts. I'm glad Jill thought of Flat Jenny, you'll make an appearance throughout the trip!

Your villa is beautiful! BLT had never been on my radar but it’s really gorgeous.

It was never on my radar until 2011 when we went to a Destination-D at the Contemporary. We stayed there and I fell in love with it. The two bathrooms in the one bedroom, the proximity to MK, being a Monorail resort....I'm not totally hip on the decor, but I do really love the rooms. That's the next place we plan to purchase!

Can’t wait for more report!

I hope to get to it soon. Tomorrow we have a Donna break, and I hope that Fran takes a nap in the midday. I can squeeze in an update if she's napping.

And a table available at Trader Sam’s? :faint: I thought that was a myth like the Lochness Monster. ;)

I've not had a problem in FL. Anaheim yes, you have to totally hover there, but at the Poly there is a wait right when it opens, but if you show up strategically about an hour or more after opening, I've found there are tables.

This update- yess!!

D saw the wings and was mmmm yum- I’m not a super wings person unless they are crispy but those tacos :lovestruc (cilantro!) I’d have taken care of them

The wings weren't really crispy, but I thought they were pretty good. Then again I'm a total wing person.

Dang about the coffee, good to know re the DD as I’d kinda heard the same thing but may have been inclined to order an iced coffee also.

It seems that from the comments here, I'm best off to stay with S'bucks and lay off the DD.

That room is a beauty for sure.

It really is nice, I definitely like the BLT rooms.

Potstickers and lettuce wraps- classics and ah yes the booze need for more concrete food.

Flat Jenny - love it

I'm a total fan of both potstickers and lettuce wraps so this was a total win for me. The flat bread was not so much.

We have a Dunkin' on every corner around here. I prefer their hot coffee over Starbucks code, but I think their iced coffee is all ice and cream :crazy2:

We actually have a Dunkin' Drive through near our house, but we tried it once and were done. I like Starbuck's coffee as I like a nice and strong cuppa. I'll often order an Americano for my hot coffee when I need a real pick up.

That's terrible! I hope you were able to get it fixed.

Nope. Still taped up.

I love the two full bathrooms in the 1-bedroom at BLT.

I love any of the units that have two bathrooms in the one bedrooms.

What? Wow! When does THAT ever happen??

I don't know, it's happened for us several times. Like I said above, there is a big line when they open at 4PM and then once everyone gets their first (and usually only) drink, it's sort of hit and miss on the tables.

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Ugh. Just what you want when you're starting a vacation.
Or on one.
Or ending one.

Well it was better than the time that same apartment had a supply line burst and water was squirting all day in the bathroom until the tenant got home. And then they found wet rot in the shower that had been there for years and we had to completely remodel the bathroom. Good times. We were staying at AKL when that one happened.

Me neither.

And I don't think we will again.

So.... how would you characterize yourself when it comes to spicy?
"OMG. It has tomatoes.... my mouth is on fire."

No, I'm good with that.

"Ooohh.... black pepper. Can I handle it?"

I love black pepper, and even crushed red pepper. In fact I don't even think black pepper is spicy.

"Jalapenos in my nachos? No problem."

Nope. Nada. Nyet. Don't do Jalapenos.

"Oh look. A ghost pepper. Makes a nice refreshing snack."

Not even, buddy.

They do that for all the pretty girls.

So I'm still wondering why I got the extra wing.

Same question goes for her. How's her spicy scale?

Hers is lower than mine.

That sounds like a question for Ariel, doesn't it?

You would know, with your engagement and all.....

Um.... what?
What kind of restaurant doesn't have coffee?

Evidently quite a few I am learning. Found one in Phoenix that didn't serve coffee either. Had to go to S'bucks after lunch.

Ew. Then... yes, it was a mistake.

:crazy2:

Pouting all the way.

I feel like I should be singing that.

Pretty neat shot with the sun like that.

I thought so too! :thumbsup2

well, that sucks. And... isn't right. At all.

Nope, but it's the second time a Mears bus has injured a scooter of hers.

Nice one too!

I do like BLT

This is possible?

I've really never had a problem at the one in Florida, but the one at home, you really have to hover to get an inside table.

Awwww... poor Fran. All tuckered out

Happens often.

:) Nice of you guys to "include" her.

You'll see quite a bit more of her!

Enjoying your report!

Thank you! I hope to get to more frequent updates soon!

No! I meant sorry to have missed the livefeed! :)

I know that's what you meant, but you can still participate in the TR without having seen us sail away!

That REALLY stinks, Alison, but the worst part is that the customer service is so bad that they won't honor a complaint or try to make it right. :(

I guess they know that they have the monopoly on transportation so they don't care.

A VERY good place to start! Fun that you got a different Nautilus cup!

And we haven't even taken it out of the box yet!

Wow...I'm not sure I needed to know this.:rotfl:

 Oh come on, fun random facts!

So the above paragraph was just run-of-the-mill, then? :scared1:

Well, maybe.

...and then you had plumbing issues as well. :lmao::rotfl2:

:rotfl2: I don't seem to have that problem with chicken wings.

I'm not an iced coffee fan, so I probably would have agreed with you. But if Starbucks is what you're used to, Dunkin' would probably taste weak.

You're not the first to say that.

You got upgraded to the Castle Suite! :woohoo:

I would actually not be pleased with that. I want my Jacuzzi tub!

D'oh. The lesson: never, ever bring a scooter to Disney World.

Unless you need one.

Looks nice! I've always wondered about staying in the Contemporary/BLT. I like the Space Mountain art.

I really like the rooms at BLT, they are spacious and nicely laid out. Not a huge fan of the modern decor, but it bothers me less than it originally did.

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Way to improvise!

:thumbsup2

We made it home and I am all caught up here.
It's fun to relive this adventure. :cool1::cool1:

I'm glad you made it safely home. Pretty soon we will get to the parts with you and Tom!

How did I miss the start to this? Love the room! Sorry to hear about tenant problems and the driver breaking the horn on Fran's scooter!

:welcome:

I'm glad that you made it over here!

OK that is just...really weird!! I wouldn't want to know either...so just sell them and don't ask questions is a good idea.

:thumbsup2

I love pizza for breakfast. And not the weird breakfast pizza like so many places serve but just regular pizza!

I know! Pizza for breakfast is one of my favorite things! It's so good!

Interesting! I'd think that since you guys are in California you must eat a lot of spicy Mexican food but I guess you are not into spicy food!

We don't do spicy. There are a lot of places where we don't eat their salsa cause it's too hot for us. We try to pick Mexican places with either a choice of spicy on the salsa, or places where it is mild.

Haha, DD has the worst coffee. People only drink it because it's convenient and cheaper than Starbucks.

Huh. I'll stick with Starbucks then. I don't even like their donuts that much. We have a great donut place here in Long Beach. Makes the best ones around.

I can't believe you had another scooter incident! But this one is kinda funny, did the tape wear off at any point and it started beeping continuously again?

Nope. Same tape still on it.

Wait, what?
There were tables that were Open? Even when we stayed at the Poly we never found an open table inside!

Yeah, there were five open seats at the table in the middle and the two tables across from the door where you walk in were open. We ended up at the one in the corner, but the one under the shrunken heads was open too.

Hi Flat Jenny! That's a good idea. I can bring Flat Fran and Alison to our Epic Girls Trip in May? LOL.

That would be funny if you brought flat Alison & Fran on the trip!

:welcome:

That's good info to have. I am somewhat of a coffee snob, at least I want my coffee strong. I drink it to literally wake me up, so I have no need for weak coffee.

So I'm sorry that its it's been so long since my last update, but life has been crazy. Also I know that there are five more TRs that I need to get to, but I had the chance today to get in an update, so I’m taking advantage of it. I will be by your TRs in the next week or so!

I had the one update the day after we got home from this trip and then I spent the next three days, unpacking our suitcases, doing laundry, and repacking for our band trip to Phoenix. I’ll give you a small recap of that trip before we get back to the main feature TR. Sorry this is such an OT and long update, but it’s been busy and I think some of you might really like to see the first part of this next post. I wasn’t going to do much on this little jaunt to Phoenix, but Jenny says that some of you folks enjoy hearing little bits of real life, and that everyone loves food porn, so about halfway through the trip I started to take pictures in case I decided to do it when I got back.

So back to our brief turnaround from the cruise to Phoenix, to complicate matters, Tuesday night on our way to band, we got a call from the alarm company, that our house alarm went off. I screwed up and gave them the wrong password so they immediately sent the police to our house. We were halfway on the way to band and we turned around immediately to go back home. It was a slow crime night and it seemed like the entire Long Beach PD was at our house.

q18IRL0904PD01.jpg

q18IRL0904PD02.jpg

They found an open door, and armed officers searched the entire house. I'm hoping that the kitties hid the entire time. After what seemed like an eternity they came out saying that no one was in there. I could have told them that. While we have some cool stuff, we don't have much with a high resale value, except to a VERY select market. Needless to say, I was rather shaken up for quite a while after that.

Thursday afternoon we left for Phoenix. We drove straight through and arrived at about 9PM, not bad for getting on the road at 3PM. We had a chicken club sandwich from the restaurant in our hotel and called it a night. Since I hadn’t planned on writing this up, no picture.

Us and it seemed like everyone else who had come for the conference headed to the Musical Instrument Museum in the morning, Here’s just a few of the many pictures we took. World’s largest trumpet.

q18IRL0907PX01.jpg

A picture that I took for Karin and Tom.

q18IRL0907PX02.jpg

These instruments were made of wicker from somewhere near Indonesia. I don’t know how they would play, but evidently they do.

q18IRL0907PX03.jpg

These were the instruments made of of recycled products and Trash. The orchestra where these instruments came from was featured in a documentary.

q18IRL0907PX04.jpg

We had some lunch and then we headed to our real reason for being there that weekend. It was the first ever Regional LGBA event. The event was hosted by five bands (Phoenix, LA, Palm Springs, Albuquerque, and Denver) in the Southwest.

Rehearsals began at 3:30, we got a dinner break at 5:30, where Fran and I thought we would head to a restaurant nearby, but it was “first Friday” in Downtown Phoenix and they had an hour wait. Since we had to be back by 7PM, we got some lunchables at the nearby CVS. I don’t think you need to see a picture of what lunchables look like.

q18IRL0907PX05.jpg

q18IRL0907PX06.jpg

We rehearsed until 9PM. When we were dining on the lunchables, I had thought I wanted to go out to get “real food" for dinner, but when the rehearsal was actually over, I was too tired. Instead we drove through Whataburger.

Neither of us had ever tried one, and I can say that neither of us needs to repeat that experience. Too much bun, meat pattie was bland, and there was a weird assortment of veggies on the thing. We each ate half and tossed the rest. After a little bit of TV to unwind, I went to bed.

The next day we had to be in rehearsal at 9AM. This was a packed day. Imagine the pictures I showed you of last night with everyone in different clothes. At 11AM, we skipped the workshop that was offered and went back to the restaurant we couldn't get into the previous night. We had the place all to ourselves. I had cannelloni. Notice the slightly blurry picture? That was actual steam coming off the piping hot food. This was absolutely heavenly. I ate every single bite, it was freshly made pasta and you could tell.

q18IRL0908PX01.jpg

Fran had a sausage and onion sandwich, she said it was good but hardly ate any of it.

q18IRL0908PX02.jpg

I had Tiramisu for dessert and ate all of it, while Fran tried a bite.

q18IRL0908PX03.jpg

Then the same owners had opened a grab and go next door that served gelato.

q18IRL0908PX04.jpg

Well who can resist that? Besides I had worked up an appetite with all that playing so far. I got a straciatella, and shared it with Fran.

q18IRL0908PX05.jpg

Rehearsal started at 1:45 and we were back there an hour early, but the room was locked, so we decided to get gas (we had less than 50 miles to empty), so we mapped the GPS to the nearest Costco, and made it back to rehearsal just in time. After two hours of rehearsal, I couldn't keep my eyes open, so instead of doing the 4PM workshop and having dinner, we went back to the hotel and took a power nap for an hour. Then we were back at the church by 6PM for another two hours of rehearsal. If you're keeping track, we’re up to 10 hours of playing in the last 30 hours.

There was a party that night on the rooftop of a local hotel where they served chips and salsa, and had a no host bar. We hung out for about an hour, but ended up calling it a night at 10PM, since we had another early morning.

Our last day we had another 9AM call time, and this was in the theater where we would be performing and farther away, so we had to be up even earlier. There were all sorts of technical difficulties with the theater and at one point we almost had to do the concert with mostly our own stand lights, but at the last minute they got it together. Here we are just before the Tech rehearsal started.

q18IRL0909PX01.jpg

Again we got a lunch break at 11AM and we had to be back by 1PM for the sound check and be dressed for the concert. We found a little deli that had sandwiches and salads. She got a garden salad.

q18IRL0909PX02.jpg

I got this Roast Beef sandwich, and I’m not sure what it was with bread in this town, but I had to slice the bread in half, there was just way too much. Otherwise it was good, but way too much. We would have been fine with half a sandwich.

q18IRL0909PX03.jpg

I was still tired, so we stopped at a Starbucks to get me an Americano. This place where we lunched also did not serve coffee!

We made it back with plenty of time to change and get ready for the sound check and then afterwards, everyone takes pictures with their sections and posts them.

q18IRL0909PX04.jpg

q18IRL0909PX05.jpg

q18IRL0909PX06.jpg

The concert went well and here is a shot with everyone taking their bows at the end of the concert.

q18IRL0909PX06a.jpg

After the concert most everyone went their own ways. Fran and I found a German restaurant which was not too far away. I packed up at least half of our stuff while she took a nap, and then we headed out for dinner.

She had a schofferhoffer, Weiss beer with citrus, a summer beer. I had some sort of Reisling.

q18IRL0909PX07.jpg

We ordered a cabbage soup, which was very good.

q18IRL0909PX08.jpg

An order of potato pancakes. Also good

q18IRL0909PX09.jpg

And we both got a variation of schnitzel. She got the Wiener Schnitzel with fried potatoes. I got the Jager Schnitzel with spaetzle. I’m a fan of the gravy.

q18IRL0909PX10.jpg

We headed back to the room since we had a long drive the next day.

After checking out of the hotel we had one more stop. The Heard Museum which is dedicated to American Indian Art. The main reason that Fran wanted to come here was their collection of Turquoise and Silver Jewelry. It was a beautiful place even though it was 105 degrees out.

q18IRL0910PX01.jpg

I liked this wall of whatever-you-call-these-things. They were selling them in the gift shop for around $3K each so you can take a guess at how valuable this collection is.

q18IRL0910PX02.jpg

Fran took a ton of photos of all the jewelry pieces. There were distinct differences between the Hopi, Navaho, and other tribes styles of art and it was fascinating. This is just one representative piece of what we saw.

q18IRL0910PX03.jpg

After we looked at the collections, and browsed the art store we were famished. They had a cafe serving regional specialties. I had a cup of the Posole, it was really good and hearty.

q18IRL0910PX04.jpg

Fran got a quesadilla with four cheeses and let me have a slice.

q18IRL0910PX05.jpg

But the real reason we were there was for the frybread for dessert. This picture is before we had the extra cup of honey to dip it in. So yummy!

q18IRL0910PX06.jpg

After this we visited the bookstore and then got on the road to head home. It was close to 3PM and again we arrived home shortly after 9PM, this time I drove most of the way.

While we were enjoying our time at the Heard Museum, the contractor was finishing up the last of our old apartment putting up blinds. It’s not completely finished, we still have to change all the door knobs, interior and exterior, get new screens for the screen doors, put up some shades and clean the inside and get rid of our patio furniture. But here are some shots of what has been done so far.

q18IRL0914DS01.jpg

q18IRL0914DS02.jpg

q18IRL0914DS03.jpg

This is the bathroom off the hallway.

q18IRL0914DS04.jpg

This was Fran’s teenage bedroom.

q18IRL0914DS05.jpg

This is another bedroom.

q18IRL0914DS06.jpg

This is the Master bedroom. All of the closets are now cedar lined.

q18IRL0914DS07.jpg

This is the Master Bathroom

q18IRL0914DS09.jpg

q18IRL0914DS08.jpg

And that folks is the next apartment up for rent!

ETA: I almost forgot to tell you that today was my ADR day for the March trip and I ended up getting all the restaurants that we wanted at the times that we wanted! Yay!

Now that I have taken up your time with OT posts! Back to the regular broadcast.

Day 2

I woke up earlier than I would have liked. The group chat on What'sApp was going nuts and Jill texted me from the living room that she was awake and could hear my phone chirping. I had been trying to go back to sleep for the last hour but it was 8:30 and that wasn't going to happen. We got dressed and went over to the Contempo Cafe for Mickey Waffles. But first, the day before Pam had delivered us a bunch of soda, wine and water for the cruise. She went all out on the water! There was plenty leftover after the cruise.

z18FC0824BLT01.jpg

Both Jill and I got the Mickey waffle.

z18FC0824BLT02.jpg

I got an Americano from the coffee place downstairs and we went back to the room to play on our tablets and wait til lunchtime. I started waking Fran at 10:15 which was perfect because by 12:15 when we wanted to leave for lunch she was ready to go.

We hopped on the Monorail and were at the Grand Floridian just in time for our 1PM reservation. But first Jill and I took a picture with Flat Jenny.

z18FC0824BLT03.jpg

Scott and Vinny were waiting, and we were seated quickly. Fran and I split the onion soup.

z18FC0824BLT04.jpg

and a Cafe Sandwich. The sandwich was good, but not my favorite.

z18FC0824BLT05.jpg

While we were in the restaurant rain started to come down in buckets. It did let up for the most part for the rest of the evening, but we did have some occasional showers for the rest of the night.

z18FC0824BLT06.jpg

After lunch we took pictures together.

z18FC0824BLT08.jpg

z18FC0824BLT07.jpg

I had the fondue which is my favorite, but it was way too much dessert and I was stuffed and couldn't even finish it all. If you can’t tell they give you a nice hot bowl of rich chocolate, strawberries, angel food cake, pineapple, bananas, and marshmallows.

z18FC0824BLT09.jpg

After that Jill and I went to Basin to get her some bath bombs and such for after the trip. I was not in there for one minute before all the smells started to give me a raging headache, so I waited outside.
We met back up with Fran, drove through a store or two at the Grand and then we got back on the monorail. She wanted to print some music for the conference we would be at the following week. So we went to the business center to see how much they would charge, and it was $1 per page to print! Highway robbery! We called up the cruise line and they told us that printing on the ship would be $.25pp so she decided to wait until we had boarded.

Jill said that the Contempo Cafe had some awesome cupcakes, so we stopped by there to get some.

z18FC0824BLT10.jpg

z18FC0824BLT11.jpg

We let Fran nap for about 20 minutes before getting ready for the Halloween party.

I’ll pick it up here for the next update.

Ok I had no clue about the alarm going off and all of LBC PD showing up. Yikes! Glad everything was okay but still so nerve racking.

DeSoto #1 looks amazing! :woohoo: You’ll get top dollar. It turned out great.

That cupcake. Yum!

Thanks for brining Flat Jenny! Love you ladies!

How would those wicker instruments sound I wonder? I like the ones made from repurposed materials as well.

I always enjoy band photos. You ladies look good!

Are you unpacked? ;)

So are wicker instruments woodwinds? .

DeSoto looks great!!! It will rent out in no time!

Lunch with the guys was so much fun! The food was delicious!

I’m glad I pulled off Flat Jenny! Nothing like pulling it together an hour before I left for the airport! . Real Jenny would have been more fun but that will happen some of these days!!!

I didn't really tell anyone about it for a few days. I really should have asked you because I was afraid of interagency interaction. I was sure that LBPD would tell Animal Control about us, but since they haven't shown up and it's been over a week, maybe they didn't see the cats at all. They may have totally hid out of fear of strangers.

It does look really great and the cedar lined closets are a total bonus, though I'm not sure anyone will realize it.

Fran ate it, but I assume it was good. You'll see a lot more of Flat Jenny! :thumbsup2

I have no idea about the wicker ones, but I think I saw the documentary on the recycled materials, it may have been on 20/20 or 60 minutes and they sounded just like the regular ones.

Thank you! This has pretty much been our lives and how we met, but only with social media do we now take pictures and post them. We have some from the past like when we had celebrities at our concerts and stuff, but it's only since social media took off that we take the ones you see now.

Are you unpacked? ;)

Sort of. Clothes are either hung up or washed, but there is a whole suitcase left with stuff to go back in the "pack for trips" bureau.

So are wicker instruments woodwinds? .

No, it's the mouthpiece that determines whether an instrument is brass or woodwind. A trumpet, trombone or tuba is still brass even if it's not made of brass. Or at least I think so.

I hope so, we have a few more things left to do before I can put the sign out. I surely hope that I can do that before you come in October!!!!

Lunch with the guys was so much fun! The food was delicious!

It was! The GFC is a hidden gem!

I know totally, and she made fun for a lot of the trip!

Well I'm glad to hear that, so I'm glad that I included both in this update!

Me too! One of the aspects of A’s TR’s that I really like :)

Aw shucks, thanks for that! I guess that's why I keep doing the silly life updates along with the TRs!

Following along! Very excited to see another of your trip reports!

:welcome:

I'm amazed at how many folks read and don't comment regularly. Please comment! I love to hear what folks have to say! It makes the TR so much more fun and even more worth writing!
