A Most Epic Fantasy DISmeet Cruise-The bitter end 3/21, Bonus Feature, Completed Star Wars Galaxy's Edge 6/20

[Continued from Previous Post]

I was able to score another glass or two of wine from the servers, before we headed off to dinner at Royal Court.

z18FC0826SD181.jpg

We were actually the first of our table to arrive.

z18FC0826SD182.jpg

The menu

z18FC0826SD183.jpg

z18FC0826SD184.jpg

I started with the lobster and shrimp and there were too many shrimp for me. I ate just one of each.

z18FC0826SD185.jpg

Fran had the Breaded and Deep Fried Brie

z18FC0826SD186.jpg

Next was the onion soup and this is always quite good.

z18FC0826SD187.jpg

Fran got the Leek and Potato Soup, knowing that I would give her half of my onion soup. In the past she has been known to order both for herself.

z18FC0826SD188.jpg

And then I had the Rack of Lamb with Dauphinese Potatoes which was quite tasty.

z18FC0826SD189.jpg

She had the Oven Baked Salmon Royale. I don't remember if she commented on it.

z18FC0826SD190.jpg

A Photopass Photographer came by the table and I made everyone stand near Fran so we could get a group shot.

z18FC0826SD191.jpg

Fran wasn't feeling very good and instead of having dessert she went back to the room. Here was the dessert menu.

z18FC0826SD192.jpg

I had two Grand Marnier souffles, I believe our waiter brought them both at the same time and the one I didn't eat was hard by the time I went to eat it. So I asked him to bring another and that one was much better.

z18FC0826SD193.jpg

z18FC0826SD194.jpg

Even though she wasn’t feeling well, she was able to take a picture of our kooky towel animal before crawling into bed.

z18FC0826SD195.jpg

After dinner, I went back to the room and watched a little more of Cars 3, but ended up having to rewind it later as I was too tired to remember what I saw.

Did you see her this time?

Well it's been a fun day today. Everything was going fine until Fran asked me to log into our City accounts, which covers gas, water and refuse for our various properties and give her the account numbers. Only to find that we have a $1000+ water bill for our own house.

Oh, no...

She said the city meter was spinning like the second hand on a clock.

Oh man... that's... not good.

We had water and toilet flushes all day and the problem IS in the sprinkler system!

That's good! Much better than in the house.

But the awesome news is that the leak is NOT inside the house, we are not going to fall through the slab into a sinkhole, and I have water to do dishes, laundry, take a shower and more important flush the toilet!

::yes::
Hopefully your gardener can find the leak.

So I will have my hands full this weekend.

Next week, I have a DISmeet at Disney on Tuesday.

Wednesday we check into the VGC for two nights.

Thursday we have dinner at Napa Rose with Jenny and Jill and our SOs.

Friday we have fun in the park before I go home to my kitties.

Saturday I don’t get out of bed cause I’m too tired

Sunday our band plays a concert at DCA

Soooo.... you're saying you're free Monday.

:rolleyes1

I was lucky that another solo woman sat down with me, and we struck up a conversation.

:) Nice when that happens.

I don’t care for olives, so this was not my favorite, but gosh darn it, I had paid for the class, I was going to drink the drinks.

I'm the opposite. We should go together. You can have all my refused drinks.

The second one I really liked. It was called the French Martini, and it had vodka, chambord, pineapple juice.

That sounds good.

I liked the next one too, it was called an Aviation Cocktail, gin, freshly squeezed lemon juice, simple syrup, maraschino cherry liqueur, creme de violet liqueur.

And so does that!

Normally I'm not a Gin fan, but that goes back to a childhood incident where I drank too much gin, mixed with whiskey, vodka, rum and who knows what else, all mixed together….straight, with chaser.

Holy crap! And you survived???

It contained scotch, sweet vermouth, cherry herring, and orange juice.

cherry herring?

I replied, “Your nose!” Which got me the prize of standing opposite him in the bottle balancing act.

 Way to go Alison!

He did a little dance move before balancing two bottles on his nose.

What... No high five now? Harumph!

Our last Martini was the Creme Brulee, and for those of you paying attention, you’ll remember that this was the drink that I ordered to go along with my dessert last night.

Beautiful. Looks tasty too.

Awww...

Really like this one. Looks like you're being escorted to dinner.

Nice one of you guys. :)

After Mickey we took a few more shots, one with with the Captain.

Like this one the best of the ones of just the two of you.

Love the way they fold the napkins.

I started with the lobster and shrimp and there were too many shrimp for me.

Too... many....

You can have my cast off drinks, I'll have your left behind shrimp. We'll make the perfect team.

Next was the onion soup and this is always quite good.

mmm..... want.

And then I had the Rack of Lamb with Dauphinese Potatoes which was quite tasty.

Dang that sounds (and looks) good!

A Photopass Photographer came by the table and I made everyone stand near Fran so we could get a group shot.

Nice shot!

Fran wasn't feeling very good and instead of having dessert she went back to the room.

:( Sorry to hear that. Hope she felt better later.

I had two Grand Marnier souffles, I believe our waiter brought them both at the same time and the one I didn't eat was hard by the time I went to eat it. So I asked him to bring another and that one was much better.

I know you love those. Glad they brought a fresh one.

she was able to take a picture of our kooky towel animal

Ummm... a swan of some sort? Not sure.

Did you see her this time?

Dang it! Took me three tries again... and it's obvious! Which is what threw me. Table for one?

You are very organized!
At least when it comes to TRs. :)

I'll try to be more closed minded about some things to help balance it out. Okay?

OK, that should really work out well.

I did see one in Washington. That was pretty cool. And yet... it also reminded me of the two tragedies.

Yeah, there is that....I tend to block those things out.

Um... that’s where it was invented.

Really? I did not know that. I thought Disney invented it!

Whoa! That almost never happens!
I should make a note.

Yeah, you should. Who knows when it will happen again.

I never go to Mexican restaurants.
1. Worked at Chi Chi's for 5 years, so it was a long time before I wanted any.
2. Just aren't any decent ones around here and... I'm not that big a fan unless I'm cooking it.

Well we have lots of good ones around here, so.....

Oh, no...

Oh man... that's... not good.

Nope not at all, probably need to sell more Disney stock. :sad2:

That's good! Much better than in the house.

Well yes.

::yes::
Hopefully your gardener can find the leak.

He does think he has isolated it to a certain part of the yard. Will be back tomorrow to further diagnose it.

Soooo.... you're saying you're free Monday.

:rolleyes1

Which Monday?????????

:) Nice when that happens.

Yes, I was very happy to have met a friend, if only for an hour.

I'm the opposite. We should go together. You can have all my refused drinks.

I think I've done that before. :rolleyes1

That sounds good.

And so does that!

And you'll see them revisited....

Holy crap! And you survived???

There are lots of things about my youth that Fran has said exactly the same thing. I was, perhaps, not the best behaved young lady. Ahem.

cherry herring?

That's what he told me (later) and I wrote down. Oh, it was cherry heering.....

https://drizly.com/heering-original...3oI61dMpighyQ4EdE-zpoSvJg_oTdtrBoCsIsQAvD_BwE

 Way to go Alison!

Hey, I go big when I do!

What... No high five now? Harumph!

She didn't get it in the picture, but he did High 5 me.

Beautiful. Looks tasty too.

It was! Great way to finish off the tasting!

Really like this one. Looks like you're being escorted to dinner.

Yes, you're right it does!

Nice one of you guys. :)

Thanks!

Like this one the best of the ones of just the two of you.

I think she has the best smile in that one.

Love the way they fold the napkins.

Yup, they started that there, and now they do the same thing at another restaurant that I frequent, seems the manager came from the cruise line....

Too... many....

You can have my cast off drinks, I'll have your left behind shrimp. We'll make the perfect team.

Sounds good!

mmm..... want.

The onion soup there is awesome. I wish DL had a place with great onion soup. There are so many at WDW and none at DL.

Dang that sounds (and looks) good!

Yup! I love Rack of Lamb!

:( Sorry to hear that. Hope she felt better later.

Well not really, at some point we discover that the new med she was prescribed doesn't do well with gastronomic tourism, but for now we are still wondering why she doesn't feel good.

I know you love those. Glad they brought a fresh one.

Yes, the don't do well when they are not fresh, and when I told the server I would want a second one, I didn't mean at the time of my first one. Lesson Learned wait until you finish the first one to ask for the second, which is what I usually do.

Ummm... a swan of some sort? Not sure.

Mutant Swan....

Dang it! Took me three tries again... and it's obvious! Which is what threw me. Table for one?

Wow! I thought it was obvious, but then again I put it there.....I usually have to look two or three times to find yours as well.

OK, that should really work out well.

Probably not...

Yeah, there is that....I tend to block those things out.

I think about all of it when I'm up close and personal like that.

Really? I did not know that. I thought Disney invented it!

Nope!
"POG, or Passion fruit-Orange-Guava, is a tropical juice drink created in 1971 by a food product consultant named Mary Soon who worked for Haleakala Dairy on Maui, Hawaii. It consists of a blend of juices from passionfruit, orange, and guava (hence POG)." (wiki)

Yeah, you should. Who knows when it will happen again.

Probably.... never.

He does think he has isolated it to a certain part of the yard. Will be back tomorrow to further diagnose it.

That's a start. Hope he finds it.

Which Monday?????????

 I note the slight tone of panic.

I think I've done that before. :rolleyes1

::yes:: ;) :hug:

There are lots of things about my youth that Fran has said exactly the same thing. I was, perhaps, not the best behaved young lady. Ahem.

ooooohhh.... I wanna hear some of those stories.

That's what he told me (later) and I wrote down. Oh, it was cherry heering.....

https://drizly.com/heering-original...3oI61dMpighyQ4EdE-zpoSvJg_oTdtrBoCsIsQAvD_BwE

Ah!

Hey, I go big when I do!

I bet!

She didn't get it in the picture, but he did High 5 me.

Really! Even with two bottles. Impressive.

The onion soup there is awesome. I wish DL had a place with great onion soup. There are so many at WDW and none at DL.

This is why I prefer WDW. The French onion soup.

:rolleyes1

Well not really, at some point we discover that the new med she was prescribed doesn't do well with gastronomic tourism, but for now we are still wondering why she doesn't feel good.

Oh, no. I'm really sorry to hear that. Glad to hear it got figured out, though.

Yes, the don't do well when they are not fresh, and when I told the server I would want a second one, I didn't mean at the time of my first one. Lesson Learned wait until you finish the first one to ask for the second, which is what I usually do.

My mom always orders her coffee when she orders her meal... but then tells the server to only bring it with the meal. She gets it early anyways about 10-20% of the time. Then sends it back.

Mutant Swan....

I see a new X-Men movie coming soon...

Wow! I thought it was obvious, but then again I put it there.....I usually have to look two or three times to find yours as well.

I saw it first thing... at least something that looked a bit out of place, but was looking for a square frame so glossed right past it.

Love the formal night pics with the characters! So cute! And love the real formal night pics. You both look great! Dinner looked good too! Love a rare lamb chop. :cloud9:

I am sorry about the water leak but so glad he found it!!!

Still waiting on Michael to decide about the concert but I’ll for sure be at the DCA one.

I see me! :lmao: I had to look twice though through the photos.

Palo Brunch has got to be one of my most favorite life experiences.

Maybe someday I'll get to enjoy that too.

It wasn't as tasty as I was hoping. Chicken Parm continues to win out.

It's always a winner!

I've never cooked raw, uncooked rice into a meatball before. Interesting.
May have to try this... except I already know at most half the family wouldn't eat it.

I do that when I make stuffed peppers. Which I think you mentioned you can't eat. ?? But it does cook nicely with the juices.

We found a company that specializes in finding water leaks, but of course this is a Friday and they’re all booked up until Monday, so they won’t be able to come until Tuesday between 11-1PM. I’ve got a lunch reservation DISmeet at 1:45 out at Disneyland, so now that means Fran can’t come along, and I’ll have to go solo. And who knows once they find the leak how long it will take until it is fixed.

How frustrating, Alison!! I'm so sorry this is happening! Hopefully resolved by now?

He is diagnosing the problem as I type this. He said give him a couple hours and he will let me know if he can find the leak and we can cancel the leak finders. But the awesome news is that the leak is NOT inside the house, we are not going to fall through the slab into a sinkhole, and I have water to do dishes, laundry, take a shower and more important flush the toilet!

Well, that's a relief. For you AND your neighbors!

I LOVE this shot!!!!

Only to find that we have a $1000+ water bill for our own house. That means a leak, no doubt about it. The first thing I checked was the pool.

Nope, nothing there.

So I checked the water meter and the water was definitely running even though we didn't have anything on that we knew of turned on.

:scared1: Houston, we have a problem.

But the awesome news is that the leak is NOT inside the house, we are not going to fall through the slab into a sinkhole, and I have water to do dishes, laundry, take a shower and more important flush the toilet!

Well, that's good news, at least! But there's still that spinning meter...

Sunday we have our 40th Anniversary concert.

:faint:

Wow. Good luck surviving the marathon!

The first thing we had was a Dirty Martini. I don’t care for olives, so this was not my favorite, but gosh darn it, I had paid for the class, I was going to drink the drinks.

<drinks>

<barfs>

"Gimme another one!"

Wow, that's really impressive!

After dinner, I went back to the room and watched a little more of Cars 3, but ended up having to rewind it later as I was too tired to remember what I saw.

I don't think you are meant to watch this movie.

Did you see her this time?

::yes:: Almost hid behind the server.

Glad you figured out the leak although the $1000 bill hurts! Will the city adjust your bill if you show you mitigated the leak?

I think I sat on my veranda most for the day except booking the placeholder cruise. Dinner was yummy!

Jill in CO

Your martini class looked fun! There were more drinks there that I would have enjoyed than the martini class I did. I only liked two and felt like it wasn't worth the cost so didn't sign up again. If I had gotten yours I would have enjoyed it a lot more.

I hate at dinner if you order two of something they bring them both out at the same time. It'll make the food cold or hard like your souffle. I'm guessing it's to keep everything moving along, but it just makes me feel rushed.

How shocking, I couldn’t believe when you told us

I’m not sure if you folks know what a wonderful gardener we have, but he is so eager to please us and goes above and beyond all the dang time. I called him up at nearly 5PM on a Friday night and told him the situation. He came right over,

What a great guy!

Next week, I have a DISmeet at Disney on Tuesday.

We had such a fun time :)

They did not have any mixology classes on our cruise :(
Not an Oliver fan either but wouldn’t leave it behind.
He did a little dance move before balancing two bottles on his nose.

Great pic!

Will be back in a bit

I’m slowly making my way through so will try to post before I forget things.

The apartment look amazing! The cedar closets sound heavenly. Love the sinks, everything looks beautiful.

Awesome that the concert went so well. You were certainly very busy with all those practices.

How scary about the police coming, wow! I’m sure the kitties hid with all that noise and strangers. I totally understand being nervous though.

The instrument museum looks very cool. As well as the Heard Museum. I’m with Fran, that jewelry is so beautiful.

YAY for getting all the ADRs! Looks like mom probably won’t be here after all. She’s going to keep working up north for as long as they need her.

 the water was only $5.49 for that huge container. I guess I was more focused on the number of bottles you said instead of amount in each one. None went to waste though. I think there’s still some over in mom’s fridge.

$1 to print one page?????? Glad the cruise was cheaper.

That gelato looked yummy popcorn::

You guys got some great pictures at the party. Love the ones with the horseman.

I was very sad to see you both leave, we would never have abandoned you :grouphug:

Embarkation day party:

Oh my on no veranda. I just assumed there wasn’t one available when you booked, I’m sorry. But sounds like it was for the best with the weather.

Awesome about your Mexican Riveria cruise!!!!!

Thank you again for fixing Palo and Remy.

Great photopass pictures, love your dress.

I think mom was watching us sail away while I had a massage. Great use of my OBC.

That was a strange dinner though. The salad dressing was weird. Glad our servers got better.

I knew what was coming and I’m still laughing out loud  the rest of that meal was amazing though. How the chef thought that was a good idea will be lost to me forever.

Love love love the pictures of the ship at sunrise. So beautiful

An empty Rainforest Room sounds heavenly.

Awesome about your March trip and getting cheaper flights. Longer is definitely better. Very cool about the Space Center. That’s still on my list to do.

Oh my gracious about the water leak :scared: your gardener is awesome!!!! Is there any way to not have to pay that bill?

Great pictures with the characters. Minnie’s dress is so pretty.

Whew! I did it, all caught up!

I forgot to say I love that Lucifer has made another appearance :)

Great picture of all of us.

I think that’s the night I knocked over the drinks...
