2020 DVC Annual Dues

Annual Dues projections for 2020 are now on the member website under Condo Notices. Post a link to your resorts notice if you can!

My 2020 SSR dues per point looks like around $6.76 and my BCV $7.06 if I glanced at it correctly.

My Poly dues hardly went up at all. Very pleased. Looks like RIV dues are still the clear outlier for WDW resorts despite some predictions that other resorts would get close with a big jump for 2020.

Here is the YOY increases for 2020, 2019 and 2018. As expected Riviera had no increase (a small negligible decrease). Missing OKW's dues for 2020.

What is interesting is SSR and BRV have the biggest WDW increases. I'll probably go back and look at 2019 vs 2020 line by line to see why. The rest of the resorts (sans CCV and RVA) are similar increases of 2-3%.

Edit: Added OKW. This is interesting SSR, OKW, and BRV all had major increases this year. All 3 have the new style of hard goods refurb (or will in the case of BRV). I wonder if that caused some of this for those resorts (contrary to DVC's announcement last year it wasn't expected to cause dues to rise).

Nice- I was expecting more with the minimum wage increases. Happy with 2.7-3.1% at AKV & VGF!

I ran the calculations on the cost to own each of the DVC resorts based off of current Oct resale prices and including the proposed 2020 fees. Looks like we had some movement in the rankings... See picture.

So now after Riviera, OKW has the highest dues of the DW resorts. This year’s large increase was not due to taxes or capital reserves but mostly due to members annual dues assessment or operating expenses. It went from $4.66 in 2019 to $5.17 in 2020. This follows the large increase in 2019 as well.

So, for SSR and OKW, I should think a guiding reason is that they are DVC-only resorts, and thus dues have to absorb ALL of the wage increases in the new contract. This doesn't explain BRV, though, since BRV uses shared services through the Lodge, especially relative to desk service.

(Riviera doesn't count, because we know the year 1 dues for Riviera were trash. They were for 2 weeks, after all, and could have meant anything at all.)

Are the OKW dues up as a result of the refurb? They don't have the money before any refurb on hand to revamp the place? If so, will SSR follow next year? And just why are the dues at VB so high, hurricane damage?
