2019 quick service dining plan child credits

Can these be used interchangeably with adult credits? We’re going on a mom/son trip, son is 3, and doesn’t eat all that much. I read on the Disney moms website that you can but then on the actual meal plan it says has to be used on a child’s menu. Did they close the loophole for 2019?

The wording of "kid's must order from the kid's menu WHERE AVAILABLE" has been on the dining plan PDFs since the very beginning. They used to enforce it for QS and DxDDP meals, but now they don't AND there will be no breakdown anywhere for you of who used which credit. So, NO, they have not closed the loophole as there really isn't one, and YES, for right now, you can use the child QS credits to purchase an adult meal.

All QS credits are pooled together in your account. You shouldn’t have any problem ordering whatever meal you want (we didn’t). If you end up having a lot of extra meal credits leftover at the end of your trip, you can redeem them for snacks. 1 QS meal=3 snacks.

What about TS?

On the regular dining plan, the TS credits are separated and kid's credits can only be used to purchase kid's meals.

On the DxDDP, they are not separated and for right now, you can use a kid's credit to purchase an adult meal.

Just remember, this could change at any time. Disney could decide to separate the QS and DxDP credits and enforce the "kid's must choose from the kid's menu where available" and they wouldn't have to say a word about it since that is what is expected.
