2018 Return to Sleepy Hollow Event

We got to the area a little early so we got some photopass photos taken by the Hoop Dee Doo restaurant. A photographer was taking pictures with a lantern and some other props.

@sherlockmiles did you read this?

How early did you get there for the photos of the lantern and props near Hoop Dee Doo? Thanks!

Gonna be there for this on 10/30 at 10PM. Leaving HS and taking an Uber at 8:30, but I am told the Uber can't drive me to the stables and will have to take the internal busses at FW. Hmmm...
Anyone know if Minnie Vans can go directly to the rear of FW and bypass taking the internal bus?
Very excited to surprise my sweetheart with a headless specter riding a horse... and a limited edition pin!
We took Minnie Van from Contemporary tonight. Dropped us off right by the stable :)

Could anyone tell me when this event was available for booking this year? Taking a Halloween trip in 2019, and we are huge Sleepy Hollow fans! How have I not heard of this event before?!?

Here is our Camping Thread from when the 2018 Sleepy Hollow Event was announced back in March:

https://www.disboards.com/threads/sleepy-hollow-event-2018.3672249/

Tickets went on sale soon after (April 1) since, as the announcement in the link above states, you can purchase tickets 180 days in advance of the night of the event you want to attend. So it's sort of a rolling ticket purchase window.

2017 was the first year this event had been done in the recent past.

PS - check in here on the Camping Board next spring and if/when an announcement is made, we will have a thread on it.

I booked at the 180 day window, that's the soonest you can book. It was announced late March this year. Good luck for next year!

Hanging out at Pioneer Hall watching it get dark over Bay Lake, waiting a few more minutes til we go to tonight’s 8 o’clock showing. I know it’s been covered so I won’t tell of any details after we’re done but I am gonna throw up some pics just cause I feel likes it. Til then enjoy the view. :smooth:

We attended the Tuesday, October 30th event (8 PM showing) and had a wonderful evening. We had dinner at Trails End first, explored the Fort a bit afterwards (there were a TON of special Halloween events going on, from a golf cart decorating contest to a dance party on the beach) and then checked in for our movie seating. Aside from the dessert party being crowded .... that small blacksmith shop was FULL .... we dont have a single complaint about the entire experience. Super fun and a great alternative to mnsshp.

After the dessert party, we even got to meet Chip and Dale. They were across from the Pionerr Hall restrooms and dressed in their Halloween costumes.....so cute!!

We are still in Orlando until Saturday, but I will try to remember to come back later this weekend and upload some photos from our night.

We did the same on the same night! Watched golf cart parade, had dinner and Trails End and then watched the 10pm show. So much fun!

Alrighty, here are some pics from our event night!

Items that the Premium and Ultimate ticket holders received....they included a Sleepy Hollow lunch bag filled with a color-changing cup, an event lanyard, a Headless Horseman collectible pin, and assorted candy. Every guest received a BIG bag of Pop Secret popcorn.....several different flavors were available:

The screen was BIG and easily viewed from even the furthest row. I was quite impressed.

After the movie, the screen lifted and it was time for the big reveal:

The headless horseman appeared from amidst the fog......it was super cool:

Photopass took photos of each guest with the Headless Horseman. Here are the ones the photographers captured:

And again, the event staff were also happy to take pictures with our phones as well. And they turned out quite acceptable, too.

As others have said, this was a real horseman and horse.....not a statue.

Beautiful!

The dessert party was held in the Blacksmith's Shop:

Beautiful setting, but it was quite tight when both the 8 pm and 10 pm guests all arrived.

And no chairs.....those with little ones might find that pretty difficult. Ditto to anyone who has a family member in a wheelchair.

Desserts were arranged on the side tables:

S'mores were cooked fresh on an open fire, and served warm. Too bad they were pumpkin flavored (blech):

There was lots of Halloween fun going on around the Fort which we had the chance to enjoy both before and after the event. There was some fun Halloween decor which was great for some fun photo ops:

There was a golf cart parade that ran through the resort, and ended at Pioneer Hall (where they put several of the top floats on display for judging):

Chip and Dale were also at the resort to greet guests. We met up with them right after we had finished at the Van Tassel dessert party.....it was a perfect end to a great night!

No Photopass photographer, but there was a CM with them who was happy to snap pictures with your camera or phone.

All in all, we give the entire event a score of 8 out of 10. If they could fix the congestion at the dessert party (and make accommodations for those who could not use those high tables), we'd notch it up even further. It was certainly a GREAT alternative to MNSSHP!
